Yo my Dad took my to a Gamestop yesterday and I found a 40th Anniversary Imperial TIE fighter pilot, I was pleasantly surprised it's pretty great, I didnt even know it exists.

I really like this trooper but I wish he had a soft goods skirt. So he could kneel for sniper shots. Solid review. Nice work.
The skirt on the new one is a little less warm in color than the original. Slightly. I too like the more matte finish on the face covering/mask thing. I actually got this because I enjoy the card back. They are totems of childhood for me. So it makes me smile seeing this and rebel trooper, Lando, Yoda, Carbonized Han, and Boba Fett on card when he comes. I have all of the New Hope carded figures but I’m okay with not having Hoth Leia and Han, or Chewie on this ESB card. I’ll probably get the RoTJ 40th on card depending on which they package. Oh yeah Vader on ESB card is coming too. Oh heck I may just break down and get the other four even though I gave them all loose. They basically make fun wall coverings. Eh maybe. Take care.

Yeah, a great figure to begin with, plus with the kenner inspired card it's an easy pick up. For some strange reason, my snowtrooper from the previous release back in 2016 had a matt finish on the helmet. All other examples of that released figure that i have seen had the shiney sculpt.

I have 2 of the original release Snowtroopers: 1 matt 1 shiny.
I cant tell that much of a difference under that desklamp or whatever you were using. Except for the boots.

@@MikeKaess the gloss finish of the original release is just... Wrong. Fabric doesn't tend to reflect light.
On second thought, maybe the original was modeled after the weird all-plastic cowl of the Snowtrooper talking to General Veers in the cockpit of the AT-AT..
it sucks they didn't change up the cream color in the jumpsuit, I was hoping they would use the shade of white/light gray used on the 3.75 version

I picked this up along with the new Vader and what I did to those cards and bubbles would get me banned in 38 different countries! Toys are meant to breathe and not become in box 3D wallpaper. Having 2 Snowtroopers now (and 2 Vaders - puppy eyes Vader will have his helmet removed when a new Jedi Luke is made for RotJ 40th Anniversary line) proves that I am a sucker for troops in helmets and the more the merrier.

The color looks the same to me. Other than the boots be dirtier I don't see any difference. And I do like the less shiny finish on the new trooper. @Hasbro, can we please get soft goods where they are needed? It is really needed on this trooper. Clearly the leg articulation is hindered on this one. Very nice review Mike.

No one can see what they "changed" in the paint job xD - and they should have corrected the flat dome to a round one. This still stands out like a sore thumb to me.

One of my favorite trooper design of all time. However, when I watch ESB their outfit appears all white to me, with none of that two tone yellowing going on. Not a fan of the yellowing skirts, but I’m ok with the attempt to show weathering, dirt, and grime, etc. I still think they should be dirty snow white, just like the movie. Whatever. This is an awesome figure. And now I want to army build it more so than a basic Stormtrooper battalion. Time to save up and order some more. 😬
Every release of Empire I can think of shows the Snowtrooper undersuit as a brighter, almost neon (compared to the snow) pastel yellow. While the contrast of the snow amplifies it, I've seen original suits at auction and the material is nearly sunflower yellow (possibly from age.)
The best color comparison to the suits on screen I can think of is Woodland Scenics' Yellow Ocher pigment
@Rafael Morgan - interesting. Now I’m curious. Seems to me I need to fire up ESB later on today to check it out again, this time perhaps pausing the blu-ray to study that suit in more detail. Yea, another excuse to watch ESB! 😁
I agree 100%!! And annoyed that Hasbro has given us this figure in BEIGE not once, but twice! ...When anyone thinks of those troopers coming through the snow into the rebel base they picture them as white and anyone who tries to argue otherwise is just not being honest. Sure they are actually an 'off white' or cream colour in the fabric area but they're most certainly NOT fkn BEIGE!!

Yeah that was a savage uncarding, but it was just a snow trooper, not like that Fett you did. lol. I passed on this carded one since I have already 4 when they first came out. JC PENNY had so many of them on sale back then. I still need that Chewie/C3PO exclusive...one day...hard to keep up with them. Hasbro’s been blasting us with a Shock & Awe campaign of black series figs.

Wish they made his kama cloth so that he has more possibility. I don't see why you should put articulation on the legs if they can't move due to plastic that hinders it. I prefer a statue at that point.
