- I have been asked many times if I would be willing to make a video of the process in which I make my Charcuterie Boards. I decided I thought that may be a really fun thing to do. So, as promised, here it is. From slab to finish. I hope you guys enjoy.
Wood: Hawaiian Monkey Pod
Epoxy: Super Clear 2.0 Liquid Glass

Omg your shop is woodworking goals.
Eowyn- Faramir lol thank you. It took some doing, and some serious support from my wife and in-laws lol, to get to this point.
That’s beautiful !
Thank you. Maker secret. It was supposed to be clear but I messed it up 🤣🤣
Great looking board👍👍
This the guy from IG that DM you! Thanks for the video it's much more that goes into that then i thought LOL. So I would need a table saw and router to get it right. But I still would like to try it in time. Until then I'll just but a cutting board from you
Looks great! Nice work
Claterpult Workshop thank you
Wow your work is amazing!
VAZ LIFE thank you. I appreciate it. It’s a lot of fun playing in my shop everyday lol
Absolutely incredible!!
Nice video man. It's always cool to see the processes that go into creating these things.
Last Leaf Studio thank you. It’s a long process for sure. And recording the whole thing doubles that time haha. But I like making the videos. It’s a cool way to show off my work to people who are interested
@@AhonuiArtisans I hear you man. Recording adds a bunch of time but the videos are handy when somebody asks "how did you make that?"
Last Leaf Studio that’s for sure
Just received both molds in the mail last night really great product and shipping was quick thanks I look forward to so many new things.
Glad you are happy with your forms a LOT has changed since this video was made lol
Wow!
Wonderful job. Love the monkey pod.
Gorgeous work dude!! Love that tattoos too 🤙🏻

Thanks man. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Parabéns
This is amazing im about to use the liquid glass and wanted to see if someone has a video using it! Great thank you soo much❤️
Ziyad Tawfiqi check out my Instagram, that’s all I do is work with liquid glass lol
Ahonui Outdoors thanks for mentioning that i’ll make sure to give u a follow🙏🏼
Great job! Make a video on how you made your work table lol
Seth G which one? 🤣 just kidding, they are all made the same lol. Thank you
so super random n00b question, why is the "Liquid Glass" opaque here? shouldn't it be crystal clear or was that the look you were going for?
Leanne VanHouten lol not a random or weird question. No, I wasn’t going for that look at all 🤦🏻♂️🤣. It’s part of the difficulty of using food safe finishes on clear resin. It was crazy crazy clear before I applied the Odies oil which has too much beeswax in it and “frosted” the clarity. I have figured out how to do it using walrus oil cutting board oil since I made this video haha I just having gotten around to making an updated video.
I like your mold set up. Do you have a video on how you made it and what you used?
Hey. Funny enough. My entire business is joe manufacturing these forms. However they have been EXTREMELY upgraded since this video was made. You can check out my website www.ahonuiartisans.com if your interested in them and my instagram @ahonuiartisans has a ton of videos
@@AhonuiArtisans Thank you very much and I will check it out.
Fantastic video and a beautiful finished product. Were you using HDPE for the molds? Do you use any release spray? Thinking about investing in some to get repeated use out of my molds
Blake Winchester thank you for the kind words. I do use hdpe. I invested in a ton of it because I usually do 10-12 pours at one time. No I don’t use any release spray or anything just straight resin to hdpe. It works great. You can’t reuse your molds if you tapenit with a moisture barrier tape like tuktape, tyvek tape, or shurtape. That’s what I used to do but at this volume it took longer to untape and tape forms than it did to make the boards so I had to upgrade to save my sanity lol
Hello friend, I'm from Brazil, I would like to learn how to make these boards, I already work with wood. What product do you use to shine at the end? I loved your boards. If you can help me thank you.
Did you wait for the clear epoxy sealer to dry prior to placing the wood in the mold?
Pablo Saldana III i didn’t wait for it to cure before placing in the mold but I DID wait until it was cure before pouring the deep pour formula into the mold.
Que aceite le aplicas a la madera para que quede así?
You need more subscribers sir! Question for you tho... do you have to use mold release with this?
JayHadd lol I appreciate that. I plan on upping my UA-cam game once I finish my new shop. No you don’t actually. Resin can’t stick to polyethylene and this is hdpe. I have actually advanced this form WAY more since this video and have sold over 300 of them since December haha
Ahonui Artisans yes i found your Etsy shop... and will be ordering one soon. Thank you for providing us with a way to create our own income. Not only do I want to make a board for myself but it would be good way to create a way to keep going the economy we now have now.
Following your IG now too... had no clue you’re in Texas as well... will for sure be buying from you now!
JayHadd much appreciated man. Yeah my ig is much better kept than this pour youtube channel haha
This video is excellent, you do amazing work! Do you mind me asking what you use a wood filler?
Kirsten Stevenson thank you. If your referring to the black stuff I used in the video, it is starbond. It’s the only black stuff they sell. I love it. Use it on every project
@@AhonuiArtisans Thank you so much! I love your work. I saw on IG you are still searching for a red, I just ordered from just pigments, I will keep you posted on how they work. Also have you tried spray paint with with some white mica to achieve the red you want? I would think since its encased in the resin and finished with a food safe oil it would be ok? I use that method for tumblers and wall art. Red is the hardest.
Kirsten Stevenson I’m not a huge fan of using different additives. I prefer to stick to the stuff made to mesh with the resin. Never know what kind of adverse affects they can have on this liquid gold lol. I actually have a red that is super red now. I just didn’t have it when I made the board from that post . It’s a new pigment by FGCI called super color “red”. It’s not for sale yet but when it goes live it will change lives lol. What’s your ig? I’ll send you a pic of the red pour from yesterday.
@@AhonuiArtisans Oh that sounds amazing! Mine is glitterandsteeldesigns Thank you!
@@AhonuiArtisans I looked up starboard on amazon, and there a number of different blacks ones listed. Would you mind telling me which one you use? Thanks, and wonderful work.
Amazing video! Did you make the frame for the mold yourself??
Thank you. I did and it has come a LONG way since haha. That’s actually al I do now is male and sell forms and templates. If your interested, feel free to check out my website www.ahonuiartisans.com
@@AhonuiArtisans thank you so much that's really helpful! I'll be sure to check it out :)
What oil did you put on ? Thanks
On this one I used a base of mineral oil then finished with odies oil. I have since switched over to walrus oil and wood wax, which I prefer to odies these days.
Can you share what saw that is that you used to cut the inside of the handle?
Scott Barnes it is a Jet jwss18. Great scroll saw
Scott Barnes sorry, I didn’t realize I was logged into my other UA-cam account lol
Ahonui Outdoors thx much! Curious why you prefer that over a router for this cut? (Asking as I try to avoid buying yet another saw! Lol)
Scott Barnes i want to remove as much material as I can before I take it to the router to flush trim to the template to avoid any extra pressure on the thin piece of handle. You can accomplish the same thing by drilling out that spot with a forstner bit before taking it to the flush trim bit.
Or even a hole saw bit on a drill?
how much does a mold for epoxy resin 40x30x5cm
My apologies. I do not make custom size forms
How much resin in this board?
I honestly can’t remember. It was a couple years ago. I’d say somewhere around 48 oz (as a blank before it was shaped)
thats alot of wasted epoxy
Nothing is wasted that is accounted for.
