Chad, your color choices, layering of the epoxy and over all attention to detail make this a masterpiece - well done!
Thank you so much! It’s nice to see someone recognize those small details I appreciate your comment!
truly amazing
Thank you!!!
Chad!!! Woah... that is seriously insane 😍
Thanks so much Bry Bry
Really love the cutting board, simply beautiful.

Amazing work Chad! Lots of time and effort put into this video. Thanks for sharing your step by step tips and tricks with us! Keep creating beautiful quality inspiring work👌🏼
Rachelle Frame thank you so much!! This board was definitely lots of work but so worth it! I had a lot of fun making it!
Great video, thanks for posting. Gotta get me one of those DeWalt planers. BTW, who is the band in the background? Opening song was killer, especially when it changed direction in the middle. Kind of an uptempo Pink Floyd. Great tune
Hi there;
I want to buy a Mirka Deros to sand my epoxy work.
There are two options in front of me, which one I choose will give me a better performance and result.
Mirka Deros orbit 5.0 or Mirka Deros orbit 2.5?
Do you send the router the edges as well? If so I'm surprised that you don't lose the edge after sanding so many times
Beautiful olive wood. You didn't mention using a torch or heat gun to remove epoxy bubbles.
That’s because I don’t use a torch or heat gun to pop bubbles. I use a very high quality - low viscosity epoxy that the bubbles all pop on their own. Look at the 3 minute mark, you can see the bubbles popping almost instantly when I pour the epoxy. Zero torch needed.
Love your work... Looks amazing. Is the wood bare in the final stage or is it still covered in a thin layer of epoxy before the walrus oil?
No thin layer of epoxy, it is bare! Thank you!
I’m new to your channel, I really liked your video, so I had to subscribe. I consider myself to be a novice/hobbyist woodworker nowhere near your skillset, so I have a question about your technique around why you sealed the wood before placing it into the form. It’s something I’ve seen that’s debatable, but your results speak for themselves. When you seal the live edge, how long do you let it set until you place it into the form? Do you let it harden and then scuff it, or wait till its tacky to the touch before you place it in the form?
Sorry for not seeing this! I sealed the wood before placing in the form to prevent any bubbles during the main pour, that being said, I usually seal it and place it directly in the form while the seal coat is curing, that way it also sticks to the bottom of the form and won’t float.
@@RescuedWoodCo I see, I had to ask because it seems to be a controversial subject some makers swear by ceiling their live edge to prevent bubbles and others preach against it. I guess it comes down to what works best for each individual but what you mentioned makes sense and if you feel the bottom it would adhere to the form better.
Where did you get your board mould from.
Hi please i want to ask from this product
I made a board but the epoxy is not shiny ( Aluminite) I had sanded to 2000gr. Can I go back and resend the epoxy to a higher grit? I flooded the board with oil and let it stand for 2 hrs. Then I wiped it and put board wax on it and buffed it. Should I have let it stand over night before doing the wax? Can I do a flood coat on it? And how long would I have to wait to do that since I already did the oil bath and board wax? Thanks in advance for your help
Great video! I like your mold, where did you get it?
Blake Winchester thank you! I actually made the mold using silicone. Checkout my UA-cam channel and you will see the video posted about 2 months ago.
Where did you get the mold from?
Where did you get your wood branding plate? Amazing board!!!
Sorry for late reply! I got mine from gearheartindustry
what song is playing ?
stunning board! Also really like the sander, but over $1k for a sanding kit? Or $580 just for the sander? Seems like it's way too unaffordable for beginners.
Thank you! I agree 100% it is not cheap! It is worth every penny in my opinion but I did not start out with this sander, I used cheaper dewalt sanders for a long time and slowly saved up. The Mirka really does save a lot of time, and makes sanding more enjoyable in my opinion.
@@RescuedWoodCo can sanding ever really be enjoyable? LOL >_< thanks for the info!
Great board! What did you spray on the board when you were sanding?
Just water! Sorry for delayed reply
Sir i wanna a learn about this chemical could u help me ..reply sir
Which Chemical? Happy to help
What type and size was that mold?
18x10 and it’s 100% silicone. I made the mold! Video on my channel
The board is beautiful, but for us that don’t have all the professional equipment: planer, router table, etc., it’s not as easy as you make it out to be.
Words
cheese? 🤣
@ Epoxy is not safe. Think how epoxy and similar chemicals and microplastics actually affect the envrionment.

Sorry? Not trying to keep up with tiny words. Bye bye
