I'm very glad that you emphasize the most important lesson, which is that fun > efficiency at the end of the day. I once saw a video unironically recommending that if you only have an hour or two to play each day, to spend it doing Frontlines and MSQ roulette because they were the most efficient and I would literally uninstall after like a week if that was the only thing I was logging in for.
12:11 Something to note about hunt bills: The experience you get from them is based on your level. For example, if you complete a Dawntrail hunt mark with a level 89 job you will only get around 250k-300k experience (about the same as an Endwalker hunt mark) while a level 90 job will get 450k-500k experience (unsure of the exact numbers, but the ranges are around that point). So I would not recommend doing an expansion's daily hunts on a job that is too low of a level.
Oh that is an interesting point! I was sure they would still be simply based on the "minimum expected level" but it makes sense they'd work as you describe! That would indeed always make it better to use a job in the appropriate level range!
It should be noted that Eureka Orthos is absolutely terrible for leveling compared to Heaven on High or Palace of the Dead. The raw exp is comparable, but the 21-30 floors of EO are just way slower and more dangerous than the other deep dungeons. So unless you already want to be farming potshards for EO, I wouldn't recommend it at any level range.
One thing to consider on whether to use Duty Support/Trusts for non-roulette dungeons vs queueing for them - see how long the queues are. Generally, the NPC party finishes a dungeon at around 25-30 minutes, while a good party takes 15-20. Ergo, if your dungeon queue is 10 minutes or more, just go for Duty Support.
Yep that sounds about right! 😊 And the weirdest part is because duty support works in mysterious ways, they sort of ensure the clear time doesn't change that much, even if you try to push it as much as you can!
For additional comparison, squadrons can clear in about 12-15 minutes with the offense tactic at about level 3-4. I've had several instances where a single food buff (30min) can cover 2 dungeons when using a squadron. This does have the slight drawback that you need to spend seals for every run, but you can make most of it back from selling the gear you find to your grand company. Extra tip: Archer is also good for AoE due to quick nock, so for players that want only one unit per class in their squadron, Arcanist + Archer is effective.
I wish squadrons lasted at least till level 70, leveling from 61-70 so far has been my worst experience in the game, the queue as a DPS can get as long as 20 minutes, 30 on a couple of occasions, and duty support is just not as efficient as squadrons, plus shadowbringers and endwalker dungeons are more fun but that's just a me thing
in my experience parties usually blast through them in about 12 minutes. Trusts take 30m minimum, and that's assuming everything goes well. Trusts do have a few cute gimmicks during the boss fights, but the overall experience is so damn slow and boring that I don't consider them worthwhile.
Although it's brought up in this guide as a sort of off hand a couple of times, I recommend to just keep an eye on your weekly Challenge Log to ensure you're making the most out of the XP gains in there as some can be fairly chunky, but also kind of fiddly to deal with. For example, just doing the 5 unique plate levequest weekly is not worth a ton of XP, but since you can do levequests on any combat job in any zone to complete this, it can only take a few minutes to knock out 5 in, say, Gridania even with a level 93 job. If you're not using your Leve allowances for anything else, it's worth doing. And be sure to keep an eye on things like your Commendation and Dungeon Completion Weekly bonuses in there. If you're also doing daily Experts, weekly raid clears, etc. on your Main Job you can easily accidentally waste your big weekly challenge log bonus by doing your "final" dungeon run of the week or giving your "final" commendation of the week on the "wrong" job (aka NOT the job you're trying to level but instead on the job you already have capped).
This is indeed true! A particular one I think often can end up going to waste is the commendation challenge since you can so easily end up commending with a Max level job! 😊
Ahaha the funny thing about msq roulette is I actually had your melee dps video open while doing a castrum run to decide which one I wanted to try to do next tier
I know side quests are typically really lame for XP but I find that sometimes if you lock in and work with clearing all the quest icons on a map rather than focusing on leveling itself, you can get a decent amount. I did this for Dawntrail and the jobs between 90-99 and while it’s a one time resource, it’s still a good time. Not to mention you’ll get some Gil and items n whatnot. I’m not entirely sure how well this scales when looking at lower levels, but I still like the accomplishment of clearing side quests in any given area
If you rush through the quests, as long as you are level appropriate for the quest, the exp is fine. It tends to drop in value quickly if you read the dialog though! However, let's say you wanted to do those sidequests anyway, then doing them is basically free. You just happen to get exp on top!
@ That’s true, i think there is something to be said about just playing the game for the sake of playing. I know that’s not everyone’s MO but there’s so much more than getting everything to max level, something about the journey versus destination or however it goes. If I do spend time doing some quests I’ll sprinkle in running fates in between quests as they pop up for a little more XP.
i figure the change from "tribal quest" to "allied society quest" comes less from not wanting to be mean (after all, several of the groups *are* tribal people, and i dont think anyone thinks its rude to say that) and more from it just not being a very good descriptor for what they are. for example, the ananta, dwarf, arkasodara, and omicron quests are all companies/services
also somewhat of spoiler for the Healer Role Quest in Shadowbringers but the fact that the Dwarves are all actually, literally just Lalafell with elaborate hats does also kinda does throw a whole wrench in the distinction between "beasts" and "spoken"
a little extra info about the new/preferred world bonus, if you get that exp bonus through transferring from a congested world to a new/preferred world, the bonus will only stick around for the 90 days, even if the world is still counted as a new or preferred after the 90 days are up, however characters created on those worlds do get to keep it until the classification changes. (A fun byproduct of how this works is that all characters created on materia have the road to 90 buff as long as they havent done any world transfers, regardless of how old the character is)
Yeah we materia dwellers are perma locked to preferred lol, although it still classes all materia worlds as new as per the server status site because none of the materia worlds have ever met the criteria to be counted as "standard" or above population
😄😁 That sounds unlikely considering we're like five or six active ones! 😂 On my home world there's another OHANA fc, so it might be them! Ours is named Akadaemia Fleur for the full name 😊
For my DPS jobs between 50 and 70 (which as of now, only applies to SAM and MNK anymore), I prioritize Alliance Raid roulette above almost anything else because of just how much better the queue times are for the role. I haven't done the math but intuitively it feels like sub-70 AR roulette is the best exp/time spent if the queue is accounted for. Once the roulette can land you in the Ivalice raids I start thinking more carefully about when I queue for it, but that's mostly just a question of needing to make sure I can commit the 30-40+ minutes that the Monastery can take. I enjoy the longer raids. (tbh anything other LotA is fine by me. The other crystal tower raids are rather dull but at least Cyrcus Tower is mostly punching-bag encounters and WoD has *some* mechanics going on, the first half of LotA is some of the most tedious and annoying gameplay in the game by comparison.) Of course longer queues let you do those filler activities so that might tip the scales but especially at those levels, the allied society quests and fates don't feel all that rewarding compared to later ones. Plus personal preference-wise I'm not that big of a fan of doing something knowing I can get interrupted at any time by a queue pop...
That is an interesting way to work with it! Indeed, quick queues come with the caveat that you can't really get into any filler content, but what really matters, as always, is whatever strategy you choose you enjoy! 😁
A very easy way to get a 20% XP bonus for any job under 90 is getting mentor status and kidnapping a sprout/returner to do things with! ^_^ Can recommend! Just gotta do a few little somethings to get it first, no sweat.
Also a thing to do waiting queue pop, is the exploration. Find the points. Turn on the job you want to up if it's leveled enough to get the point and free xp with your new entries!
2:33 Technically speaking - and I can't stress enough about how this doesn't help the vast majority of FFXIV players - there is food in the game that gives a +4% EXP Bonus, like the Fat Choco Choco and the Buttery Mogbiscuit. You can only get these sorts of things by redeeming a code, so they're not available to people reading this comment. Not as of writing this comment, anyway.
I had no idea that trial roulette was so good for exp. However speaking of trial roulette, one thing I do know about it is that it is very effective for farming the new player bonus points for wondrous tail rerolls. Almost every time you do a trial roulette you have at least one player, and they're usually really fast to complete too. Nice when you've already got your nine stickers but are sitting at only seven placed so you can reroll the placement to try and get multiple lines
Road to 90 bonus will always go away after 90 days if you transfer a character. So make Dynamis alts y'all! Also Dynamis is 100% dead again so we need y'alls alts for queues.
A few remarks: Once hunts are unlocked for an expansion, the board is often accessible from the two main cities of the expansion (at least in Stomblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker, although I would not be surprised if I missed some elsewhere since they are often kind of hidden). Both boards give access to the same hunts though. ARR, Heavensward and Stormblood hunt currencies can be used to buy, among other things, teleport vouchers. Better not sleep on it considering the number of times you teleport while doing these. Imo, hunts are good when leveling a healer or a dps. Fates are usually better when leveling a tank. Especially the Warrior who is basically immortal and can aggro everything at once easily. Other alternative sources of XP which may sound obvious but should not be overlooked: job quests and role quests. Right now in Dawntrail, each quest will give around 1 million XP which is wasted if you wai for level 100 to do them. It is not much but they are pretty short and it can be a nice change of pace between fates and hunts. It also sometimes gives you food appropriate for your class / level.
Indeed! You are right there are two boards! 😅 And yes fate farming often either relies on someone else being there to take the hits, otherwise, even with a chocobo companion healing as hard as it can, a dps may have difficulty doing aoe pulls! 😊
"As of yet there is no word of a combat society for Dawntrail." Tobli: "Aya yai!" They revealed the combat society for Dawntrail... it's the Pelupelu, who we thought were going to be the crafting tribe. XD
regarding bozja xp from level 91-100, ive been doing some bozja recently since im grinding for max honors, and doing the skirmishes in zone 3 gives about 300k xp to my monk, compared to the ~500k i would get from doing a dt fate, so its not optimal, but if you are going to do bozja anyway, you may want to swap to a non-maxed job since you are still getting some reward
From 10 - 16, guildhest is actually fairly alright. The EXP gain isn't terrible and there are not that many alternatives. Also from 1 - 16, I tend to use the hunting log a lot. After that it tends to fall off quickly thanks to leveling roulette and I wouldn't touch GH or hunting log for EXP at 20+. There are other reasons for doing those at higher levels, just not for EXP.
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Oh, and, while nothing new (but 2 new DPS jobs in DT made it worse based on my experience), DPS queues are terrible. I'm leveling SMN and 5/6/7/8/9, leveling, and MSQ are, well, maybe not even worth doing, depending on if we have something else to do while waiting or not. Trials, Alliance Raids, and FL are ok, am not at 60 yet, so idk about Normal Raids, but imagine them similar to Trials.
Awww 😂 I'm not the best at those but I do know one way to power level crafters is to do leve quests, daily grand company hand ins and custom deliveries, with the two first things being done mainly by purchasing the items to hand in! Even more power leveling can also involve just mass crafting something, but that gets crazy expensive fast! For gathering the same suggestions apply, although you typically have to actually do the leve quests properly 😅
get to level 20 use a combat job to unlock The Firmament in ishgard you can level getherers in the diadem while getting mats for the crafters to do the tun ins in The Firmament, Ashe10 has a coplete guide for leveling including macros
I’ve been leveling picto and a few other jobs with trusts. Is it efficient? Not even a little! But it’s tedious enough to level trusts that I’m only going to do it by combining efforts with another goal, and at least I don’t need to wait for dps queue times.
An important thing to always keep in mind when leveling in unusual, and perhaps less efficient, ways, is "would I want to clear this anyway?" and if the answer is yes, then the exp can sometimes even be considered a free bonus! 😁
These are all fantastic options for most classes. Just a note that Blue Mage is very odd, and you may have to take a different approach for this class (and possible future limited classes.) Happy leveling!
Zadnor is for grinding mettle, not for leveling. Skirmish density is way too low and give very little extra exp compared to Southern Front. There you get 2-3x as many Skirmishes done in the same time and they give 400-450k exp each. A lot faster than Zadnor or even DT FATEs.
I originally thought that it wasn't "10 levels until cap" for armory bonus, but "10 levels until your highest level job". So I assumed that the ideal thing was to power through MSQ, because you would have less efficient armory if your WAR, for example, was 90, and you want to level pictomancer at 80. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! It's strictly the 10 levels of the current expac. (81-90 during Endwalker, 91-100 now, 101-110(?) for next expac) Don't feel like you are going to waste EXP if you switch mid MSQ.
is it me but I find the hardest part for leveling up is from level 9ish to level 16 where you unlock leveling roulette... I literally have to grind mobs, even do levequests but still it's slow
Just wish there was more to actually do at max level on combat jobs outside of raids. Once the levelling journey is over, feels like there is not much else to do but raidlog, craft and roleplay.
i know of a shadowbringer method which involves the Clionids and the nearby Deep-sea Leeches in the northern Tempest area. it uses the mechanic the Clionids WILL snag leeches close to them and as long you tag and poke the leeches and lead them to clionids the resulting exp from leeches eaten by clionids is on you as clionids and leeches are lvl 79-ish (end of shadowbringer char required to unlock the area !) the method is more often than not suicidal for lower levels because the clionids will likely stalk you should you succeed in some of those tag kills your lvl will take leaps high like a skyscraper :)
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Yeah, personally it's still better to get the eggs because the icon is unique compared to the water that uses the same icon as many other items.
I absolutely love FFXIV. I love the aesthetic, the story so far, as well as the gameplay. The problem I'm having is deciding on which class I want to play. I loved Archer, but bard gameplay doesn't seem to be my thing (currently level 52). I have a Warrior at level 40-something and found out I am apparently a good tank from the feedback I have received. It seems watching videos of the dungeon beforehand, and focusing on things like positioning is rare from PUG tanks. With the bar that low, I'm probably an average tank lol. My issue with Warrior is I am tanking with a big 2 hander. On top of that it seems weird to do so little damage with a big axe while solo questing. Meanwhile the little Miqo'te with daggers beside me kills things in half the time. So, I made a Gladiator. I am 2 levels from becoming a Paladin. I think I have found my class with Paladin. I look like a tank, I'm focused on damage mitigation, and the damage I do solo lines up with the weapon I'm using. Once I reach max level I want to try Viper. I love dual sword classes from other games, like Blade Dancer in Lineage II (a long, long time ago). I want to always main a tank, though. Tanking is just so much fun in FFXIV. I just need to find a Guild/Free Company to run with as the dungeons start to become more challenging down the road.
Just making sure, it sounds like you make a new character for each job! Remember a single character can be all of the jobs so you dont have to start over the whole story each time! ^^ I'm glad you are enjoying tanking!
boiled eggs... i was in gold saucer last week and this dude was cooking 4m eggs to lvl cul and i asked for some and he gave me 4k. it was interesting to say the least xD
My issue is that the MSQ gives enough XP, so when I do side content for a palette cleanser, I'm way ahead of where the quests are. Just finished post-ShB at 85
For the Hunt Marks, if the person you're grouped with is higher by 9-10 levels, you will not get the xp for the mob but you will get the xp for the hunt mark. Have the help not be grouped. The player who's hunting should kill the mob about 25% or so, just enough to have the full aggro of the mob, then the other player who is higher can kill it and the lower player will get the xp for mob as well as the hunt mark xp. My spouse and I do this all the time, I've currently a L63 Paladin doing the L69 hunt marks in Lochs and Azim Steppe, spouse's toon is L88 Viper. There is a certain level of cut off where you do not get the xp at all if the mob is too high or too low of your own level, I'm not sure what that is...I think 9 levels. I also know that if you are in the 80-90s, you can still get hunt mark xp from the HW and SB hunts, not a lot, but at least 10k or so.
No I have legitimately had people say they have gotten okay results from doing levequests. However as you said, no more leves past level 60, and the exp scales rather poorly so it would be shocking if it was much relevant past level 50 if even that!
You cannot pick up the quest if you are under leveled, so you must at minimum be the asked level for those 😊 Edit: and you can only hand in the quests with the job you picked it up with!
I don't really think Beast Tribe name was changed because it was "too mean", but rather because it stopped being descriptive a long time ago. Most of the "beast tribe" quests after Stormblood are either not "beasts" (like pixies, dwarves, omnicron) or tribes (all of the previous ones and also Arkasodara, Loporrits and arguably even Namazu). Given that we know what some of the DT Allied Society quests are going to be, they are also very clearly not tribes by any definition of the word.
That is a fair point! I guess my confusion in that conclusion was more that changing it from beast tribes to tribal quests made little difference since, well, were those "beast tribes" that were not beasts, still tribes? So it moved from one innaccurate description to another! But indeed, with one we know is coming, tribe is certainly off!
Probably already mentioned in comments, but hunt bills are completable with friend nuking them for you. You'll lose only the actual mob exp from mob itself if the lvl difference is too high while in a party. And bill exp being scaled based on lvl, you probably can't just zoom level your low jobs, say you never bothered to lvl up SAM and you have friend nuking DT hunts for you.
The problem i run into while trying to level jobs is I get bored so easily i fall asleep even though i want to get everything to max level. I just have a hard time doing the same things over and over again.
Armory bonus leap frogging should be fine.... Once the first class gets 1 level above the rest, all the others get the bonus. There's no difference if the higher class is one above the others or at level cap. So long as you get one of them to level up before working on the others. I've seen the misunderstanding in the past of the armory bonus only applying when you have a job at max level.
Oh No I think you misunderstood! If you have multiple jobs at the same highest level, then they won't benefit because only jobs lower level will benefit! By leap frogging i mean: Let's say you have a job at 50 and one at 51 (and all other jobs below that), if you level up the 50 to 52 it will benefit from armory bonus at level 50, but not at 51. So if you alternate in this way, like frogs leaping over each other, you will be wasting a lot of exp as a result. But yes, as long as you keep one job in the lead, it doesn't really matter what else you do, armory bonus will work 😊
So how long does it actually take to go from 1-100? No bullshit, just an honest answer as if someone completed MSQ and has 1 100 already? All of these videos avoid saying the length.
That's incredibly difficult to determine because it depends on how you do it. For instance, when I was leveling jobs from 90 to 100, I mainly did exactly as prescribed in this guide, but I rarely HAD time to go beyond (as in, no dungeon spam, no fate spam), and most days I'd accumulate 2-3 levels on one job. However how many levels you get from this regiment depends on the level of the job, what duties you're served, and how much of it you do. If you rely mainly on dailies you'll almost certainly get more exp per hour (leading to less actual time played per level). If you don't mind spamming content after the daily and weekly options are spent, you will be spending more time per level, but if your metric is how many days it would take, it would of course take less! The reason a guide like this tends to leave the exact number out is simply because it isn't really possible to give a straight answer! 😰
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Sure, but you could give a ballpark at least. Is it days? Weeks? Months? It sounds like it'll take about a month at a minimum. Nobody ever talks about this.
@Arbrawr oh probably not months. The first 50 levels can be done in a single day if not less. If you really put your mind to it I would say we are talking DAYS for level 1 to 100, but that is a ball park estimate. For the sake of example, it took me just below two months to level every job from 90 to 100 doing as I said before, and that's 21 combat jobs, while not trying to rush that much! 🤔😊
@@CaetsuChaijiCh It certainly is about a month, I've leveled BLM 1-90 back in EW and did basically everything suggested in your video. I did some calculations and it took me something like 12-13 days of nonstop playing, so with 8-10 hours sessions of only leveling it's gonna equal to about a month. Doubt it got faster in DT. Now compare that to 18 hours in WoW and yeah, it's really bad...
It's difficult because sometimes not much changes, but as a new player you see an endwalker age guide and you don't know if it still applies. I try my best to adjust the guide based on new things but sometimes there isn't much 😅
Must admit I am exactly the wrong target for this video - given I long ago committed to an approach to the game which is basically super-inefficient levelling. Basically I level all my jobs in tandem (ie, right now my main jobs are all 78 or 79). Also I dawdle - been playing for 18 months and still not half-way through Shadowbringers. But I am having fun, I do like it at certain moments when all the numbers line up (ie, when every job was 77). Still an interesting video though.
Well you can still use the strategies in the video to level the jobs in this tandem way, although as I explained in regards to armory bonus, it might be much more effective if you kept one job just like... One level ahead of the rest 😊 But as long as you have fun with your journey, that's what matters!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh That is actually what I do - I usually have one job ready to level up with one levelling roulette or WT hand-in, so except for a small time enjoying everything the same there is always one job ahead of the others.
They are level appropriate sidequest xp for their level. Unfortunately most of them are between 41-47. With unscaled sidequests already the worst source of XP in the game outside of mob grinding.
@@cattysplat Are you thinking of the ARR tribal quests? Because those give piddling amounts of XP that aren't worth the time you would spend doing them. But the ARR hunt marks don't have any XP rewards tied to them at all, as there isn't any listed on the hunt bills unlike from HW onward.
I think highleveling is ONLY worth it if you aren't capped on poetics. Other than that I will usually skip it. Sometimes Normal raids if I'm just not feeling it and don't need the tomestones from it, either.
I like to use Crystalline Conflict if a job is nearly at the next level (like 95% of the way). It'll save you a whole dungeon run to knock yourself up to a potentially better exp dungeon.
Hmm if you're that close to a level up a fate or two might also do it 🤔 I stopped recommending cc at all because on some DCs it just won't pop, and of what I heard it isn't super effective beyond "well if I want to run cc anyway then it's a free bonus!" 🤔 but I am actually not sure if the exp is alright now!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Oh true yeah I forgot about aether being somewhat blessed with queue times lol. But yeah, it's not really SUPER DUPER great for grinding generally unless you really enjoy it. But for that tiny nudge to the next level it's decent
I do it to help out sprout first timers. There are tons of new players who prefer the real player dungeon experience over the NPCs. Plus you get first time rewards + wonderous tail second chances.
The most effecient way to level is credit card ;) but realistically thats just for alts on another server so you can raid with other friends around the world
I was really disapointed by Bohja. This thing is an absolute pain to unlock, given there is no extensive guide on all the quests you need to do , meaning you have to look at multiple places on the internet to find everything, and you need to complete the Ivalice raids. Given how it appeared in multiple guides for leveling, and the time it takes to unlock, I was expecting quite a good return. But damn is it boring and gives peacemeal xp... As a non hardcore gamer, i found that with resting xp , if i do all roulettes and the highest society quest my level allows, i can manage 2 to 3 levels per day. Reasonable. Something i also learnt the hard way, which may be obvious, but buying Dawntrail gives you access to the Azeyma's Earring, yet they don't work until you actually START the expansion. I leveled up a good chunk of jobs while sitting on the MSQ , wondering why i still had the Endwalker main screen or why my earring seemed to not be working. And, well, i played the first few MSQs and voilà, everything is working. So yeah, don't be like me XD
All you gotta do is go to the mogstation and just pay like 30 bucks to get level 90. Is really not that deep. Who actually wastes weeks of daily grinding per class? Just pay.
Not only does that still leave 10 levels to get, but some people don't actually have that kind of disposable income. Plus, some players actually enjoy the journey, and / or the act of progressively leveling jobs in an efficient manner 😊
Your road to 90 info is wrong. I moved from seraph to rafflesia and I lost the buff after 90 days even though rafflesia is still considered new and seraph was standard
My partner once tried to level weaver by stabbing ladybugs with a needle outside Ul'dah.
It never occurred to me to even try that!
Did it work? 👀
I also want to know if it worked
For science, yk
@@CaetsuChaijiCh if I remember correctly it barely did but it was Not Worth It
Omg I did the same, it doesn't give exp though.
I remember running around la nocea smacking mobs with a frying pan back in arr. It didnt go well
I'm very glad that you emphasize the most important lesson, which is that fun > efficiency at the end of the day. I once saw a video unironically recommending that if you only have an hour or two to play each day, to spend it doing Frontlines and MSQ roulette because they were the most efficient and I would literally uninstall after like a week if that was the only thing I was logging in for.
Common sense would tell you this
12:11 Something to note about hunt bills: The experience you get from them is based on your level.
That is a good point, and that would indeed make it pretty weak of an option! Thank you for sharing!
Squenix should really add shared fates to older expansions, it would help so much with alt jobs
And giving new rewards to older areas would bring life to them. Helping out new players in the process.
And the weirdest part is because duty support works in mysterious ways, they sort of ensure the clear time doesn't change that much, even if you try to push it as much as you can!
@@boblers Oh wow, that is very fast! Guess I gotta get those guys up to speed for efficient 1-60 leveling!
Trusts do have a few cute gimmicks during the boss fights, but the overall experience is so damn slow and boring that I don't consider them worthwhile.
thank you for the levelling guide!!! this was much needed after I unlocked thaumaturge yesterday and now am levelling to be on par with sage :)
Oh that is quite a journey to catch it up! I hope you enjoy your leveling! 😄
Feels like I should drink something each time you say "Defeating Enemies"
Thank you for the leveling guide!
I know right?! 😂
The weirdest part is the vast vast majority of the things that work that way don't even mention it themselves! 😂
The feeding enemies
7:58 wow, thanks for that info. I have levelled 10 jobs to 100 so far and never knew that. Thanks ^^
Ahaha the funny thing about msq roulette is I actually had your melee dps video open while doing a castrum run to decide which one I wanted to try to do next tier
at around 10:00 , you mention *when* the new tribe comes out, well fun fact: The Pelupelu coming in 7.1 are combat tribes!!!
And there we go! 😁 Indeed!
Been really enjoying your videos as background noise while leveling! Cute dragon girl btw.
I'm glad to hear that! And thank you so much! 😄
It cant be!, you must be spying on us! we started to lvl other classes this weekend, what perfect timing xD
That is quite convenient! 😂😁
I despise playing blm and am doing it 90-9? Strictly by the side missions clearing each zone lol
i figure the change from "tribal quest" to "allied society quest" comes less from not wanting to be mean (after all, several of the groups *are* tribal people, and i dont think anyone thinks its rude to say that) and more from it just not being a very good descriptor for what they are. for example, the ananta, dwarf, arkasodara, and omicron quests are all companies/services
That is also an excellent point! 😅
also somewhat of spoiler for the Healer Role Quest in Shadowbringers but the fact that the Dwarves are all actually, literally just Lalafell with elaborate hats does also kinda does throw a whole wrench in the distinction between "beasts" and "spoken"
I still call them beast tribes because most of them are foul, subhuman creature like species
The friendship circlet does work on crafting and gathering below level twenty-five. The Ala Mhigan earring as well before level 50
a little extra info about the new/preferred world bonus, if you get that exp bonus through transferring from a congested world to a new/preferred world, the bonus will only stick around for the 90 days, even if the world is still counted as a new or preferred after the 90 days are up, however characters created on those worlds do get to keep it until the classification changes. (A fun byproduct of how this works is that all characters created on materia have the road to 90 buff as long as they havent done any world transfers, regardless of how old the character is)
That byproduct is quite funny! And also a bit unfortunate in a way given what it implies! 😅😰
Yeah we materia dwellers are perma locked to preferred lol, although it still classes all materia worlds as new as per the server status site because none of the materia worlds have ever met the criteria to be counted as "standard" or above population

Ohana! Lol i see your FC members everywhere
😄😁
That sounds unlikely considering we're like five or six active ones! 😂
On my home world there's another OHANA fc, so it might be them!
The other crystal tower raids are rather dull but at least Cyrcus Tower is mostly punching-bag encounters and WoD has *some* mechanics going on, the first half of LotA is some of the most tedious and annoying gameplay in the game by comparison.)
Of course longer queues let you do those filler activities so that might tip the scales but especially at those levels, the allied society quests and fates don't feel all that rewarding compared to later ones.
Very good tip! I believe the sprout also receives this bonus so that goes both ways too! 😁
Best part about mentor, it can be any type? Battle of crafting mentor
Oh yeah I did look up some of these, just in case it was possible, and decided to quietly leave it out 😂
Shout out to FL for lvling my drg. Haven't touched it since getting it to 50 and just got it to 100 last night.
This omg. Ques are rough, even on tank and healer sometimes.
One does not simply level an alt. Well you can but you need a buttload of time.
Praetorium via the MSQ Roulette is the most experience still, I got 13 million XP by queuing for it. >.>;
Does not surprise me! But it is still quite time consuming to boot! 😂
@@CaetsuChaijiCh It's why I have UA-cam on the second monitor. It's probably the one of the funniest things to do while in Praetorium. lol
Leveling through fates = being paid to level your jobs! Trust!
A few remarks:
Once hunts are unlocked for an expansion, the board is often accessible from the two main cities of the expansion (at least in Stomblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker, although I would not be surprised if I missed some elsewhere since they are often kind of hidden).
And yes fate farming often either relies on someone else being there to take the hits, otherwise, even with a chocobo companion healing as hard as it can, a dps may have difficulty doing aoe pulls! 😊
Tbh dungeon spamming is superior to everything when playing healer or tank.
"As of yet there is no word of a combat society for Dawntrail."
Tobli: "Aya yai!"
They revealed the combat society for Dawntrail... it's the Pelupelu, who we thought were going to be the crafting tribe. XD
Yep, that was quite the twist! 😂
regarding bozja xp from level 91-100, ive been doing some bozja recently since im grinding for max honors, and doing the skirmishes in zone 3 gives about 300k xp to my monk, compared to the ~500k i would get from doing a dt fate, so its not optimal, but if you are going to do bozja anyway, you may want to swap to a non-maxed job since you are still getting some reward
Thank you for the info! That is good to know!
I agree it seems good "enough" that if you're there anyway, might as well! 😊
Yeah I agree, that sounds about right 😊
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Oh, and, while nothing new (but 2 new DPS jobs in DT made it worse based on my experience), DPS queues are terrible.
A small note, the mark bills also exist in the reach, eulmore, and radz-at-han. I *think* there's one in s-9, but i haven't seen it.
I just tell people "Do your daily roulettes. Play your MSQ." Once one job is max level, the rest are easier.
I already maxed main, leveling other jobs is not easier, it's way harder imo
Love that you posted this the day after I got my last job to 100. 😂
Now if you wanna post a guide for leveling hand/land jobs quickly….
Awww 😂
I'm not the best at those but I do know one way to power level crafters is to do leve quests, daily grand company hand ins and custom deliveries, with the two first things being done mainly by purchasing the items to hand in!
Just a note that Blue Mage is very odd, and you may have to take a different approach for this class (and possible future limited classes.)
Happy leveling!
Also I agree with you that Potd queue is way too long these days. I was in 50 minute queue for floor 31-40 before I called it a day
Personally I usually find it quite fast by using the hunting log 🤔 or maybe I just have lower expectations 😅
Just wish there was more to actually do at max level on combat jobs outside of raids. Once the levelling journey is over, feels like there is not much else to do but raidlog, craft and roleplay.
Yeah there are certainly some points where you really have to dig deep to find something fun, depending on what kind of content you enjoy!
15:28 Bozja for EXP, Zadnor for Mettle!
i know of a shadowbringer method which involves the Clionids and the nearby Deep-sea Leeches in the northern Tempest area.
it uses the mechanic the Clionids WILL snag leeches close to them and as long you tag and poke the leeches and lead them to clionids the resulting exp from leeches eaten by clionids is on you
as clionids and leeches are lvl 79-ish (end of shadowbringer char required to unlock the area !) the method is more often than not suicidal for lower levels because the clionids will likely stalk you should you succeed in some of those tag kills your lvl will take leaps high like a skyscraper :)
Thanks, never knew this will work with non blu mage might try with my low level paladin
Cheapest is actually water at 4 gil per water but the difference in price is negligible
Ah that would be right! I guess I missed it since it wasn't on the vendors I'd typically check! 😅
I'm glad you are enjoying tanking!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Oh good point! I was creating a new character for each job!

One way to help with leveling to 80 is to get three Blue Mages to help you since they can crush dungeons in less then 10 minutes or so.
Saving your own time by wasting 3 other friend's time, now that's efficiency haha.
Did you make that Levequest Example up? I haven't bothered with them in a long time, but didn't the combat ones give terrible exp too?
No I have legitimately had people say they have gotten okay results from doing levequests. However as you said, no more leves past level 60, and the exp scales rather poorly so it would be shocking if it was much relevant past level 50 if even that!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Thank you for confirming that. Maybe dedicated Masochists or Achievement Hunters inspired by CiderSpider I reckon^^
i also have another question.. do the allied society quests require you to be the level that is asked, or can you be underleveled to them?
You cannot pick up the quest if you are under leveled, so you must at minimum be the asked level for those 😊
Edit: and you can only hand in the quests with the job you picked it up with!
I find it funny youkeep saying to skip frontlines because I have been leveling MCH in my alt trought nothing but that and CC 🤣
Well I mean I specifically say to skip it if you don't LIKE pvp 😅 the exp from frontlines is great!
Is it okay to eat chocolate chocobo heads instead of boiled egg?
I mean... If that's a food item you have then go for it! The important part is it giving the exp bonus! 😅😁
The problem i run into while trying to level jobs is I get bored so easily i fall asleep even though i want to get everything to max level. I just have a hard time doing the same things over and over again.
Why is high level dungeons so low on the list, what makes it bad?
From my own tests, They give about the same exp as three allied society quests, and typically takes significantly longer to clear 🤔
Xp from them bad, only worth if you need poetics
Armory bonus leap frogging should be fine....
Once the first class gets 1 level above the rest, all the others get the bonus.
There's no difference if the higher class is one above the others or at level cap.
So long as you get one of them to level up before working on the others.
I've seen the misunderstanding in the past of the armory bonus only applying when you have a job at max level.
Oh No I think you misunderstood!
If you have multiple jobs at the same highest level, then they won't benefit because only jobs lower level will benefit!
By leap frogging i mean:
Let's say you have a job at 50 and one at 51 (and all other jobs below that), if you level up the 50 to 52 it will benefit from armory bonus at level 50, but not at 51.
So if you alternate in this way, like frogs leaping over each other, you will be wasting a lot of exp as a result. But yes, as long as you keep one job in the lead, it doesn't really matter what else you do, armory bonus will work 😊
Forgot helm of light granted it only lasts till lvl 10 but bonus exp is bonus exp
I sort of broadly included it in the "pre-order bonuses" part but I guess helm of light is a collectors item so you are right! 😊
My eternal struggle doing msq roulette on one hand i feel its the one that gives more exp, on the other hand i HATE praetorium
@@ProtossOP It's longer than most modern MMORPGs but way faster than old school MMOs like FF11.
Crazy how many videos pop up for this just repeating the same old.
It's difficult because sometimes not much changes, but as a new player you see an endwalker age guide and you don't know if it still applies. I try my best to adjust the guide based on new things but sometimes there isn't much 😅
me watching this like “exactly mhmmm.. yes… time efficiency…” (im level 80 in the middle of stormblood msq)
One level ahead of the rest 😊
But as long as you have fun with your journey, that's what matters!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh That is actually what I do - I usually have one job ready to level up with one levelling roulette or WT hand-in, so except for a small time enjoying everything the same there is always one job ahead of the others.
"ARR marks give atrociously bad XP."
That is certainly one way to say "zero." :P
Hmm if you're that close to a level up a fate or two might also do it 🤔
I stopped recommending cc at all because on some DCs it just won't pop, and of what I heard it isn't super effective beyond "well if I want to run cc anyway then it's a free bonus!" 🤔 but I am actually not sure if the exp is alright now!
@@CaetsuChaijiCh Oh true yeah I forgot about aether being somewhat blessed with queue times lol.
But yeah, it's not really SUPER DUPER great for grinding generally unless you really enjoy it. But for that tiny nudge to the next level it's decent

@@cattysplat Nice!
The most effecient way to level is credit card ;) but realistically thats just for alts on another server so you can raid with other friends around the world

@@CaetsuChaijiCh exactly!! Only do this on alts to raid with your friends in chaos even though youre on NA lol
Or you could run Under the Armour a few hundred times to level🤪

All you gotta do is go to the mogstation and just pay like 30 bucks to get level 90. Is really not that deep. Who actually wastes weeks of daily grinding per class? Just pay.
Not only does that still leave 10 levels to get, but some people don't actually have that kind of disposable income. Plus, some players actually enjoy the journey, and / or the act of progressively leveling jobs in an efficient manner 😊
Your road to 90 info is wrong. I moved from seraph to rafflesia and I lost the buff after 90 days even though rafflesia is still considered new and seraph was standard
