I agree. My laparotomy mistake went two weeks, I had post surgery visits 10 days after they said I was okay despite my complaints of pain and itching and burning in my belly, day after doc said I was fine I went into the ER because my wound had burst open and spilled puss everywhere. My entire abdomen abscessed and it was dismissed when it could have been caught early. I almost died during surgery as my heart stopped and I had a wound vac and open wound in my belly for almost 3 months. The crazy thing, they don't give antibiotics if they believe there is no bleeding, hence when bleeding happens it becomes an infection. It's awful. I almost died. Also in the ER operating room while they scraped and flushed and cut open my surgical scar they did without any pain meds or anesthesia. They connected IV but didn't connect it to the machine giving the meds. Wasn't found until I was moved up to a floor to prepare for surgery, I couldn't speak and was shaking from the pain (shock). Nurse came and told them I hadn't been given anything they discovered when they did their audits of the medicine in resetting that er room. Doctor gave me dozens of shots of local anesthetic in my abdomen and I passed out until I woke up after surgery 1 or 2 days? When I woke up I was alone they had me sign papers I wouldn't litigate in exchange they covered my hospital bills and the daily wound changes from a in-home nurse for months of recovery (Covered only medical visits didn't cover medical equipment and supplies for the in-home nurse care I was on unpaid medical leave and ended up losing 3 months of pay, having to remortgage my house, I had to buy the supplies out-of pocket from Apria and my claims to my HMO were rejected). The type of medical mistakes in the USA are why I chose to have my child born in South Korea. I had 3 weeks postpartum care in South Korea, which is standard. Also, the hospitals are far nicer in Korea, more clean and modern equipment and beds. Cost to give birth in Korea + the postpartum care was less than a Root Canal at the dentist in the USA.
Here in Australia my niece's first baby born healthy, but my niece bleed drastically after, rushed to theatre stabilised her, days later sent home. For the next 2 months, (still caring for her new born, breastfeeding/nappy changes/bathing etc with little help from her partner- he was working) she was incredibly sick, weak and vomiting, high temperatures. Returning to the hospital every two three days begging for some help with her mother. But ignored. She flew with her infant to her home town where on arrival, collapsed and taken to hospital. Doctors found a bath mat size packing in her womb, she was septic and hours from death. Her strong will, is the only thing that pulled her through...and prayers... The doctor that delivered her baby, after plenty of attempts to have him removed, still has a job... ( Doctors/staff in surgery forgot they packed her )
I am so sick of doctors neglecting their patient's health. How many of us give up a huge chunk of our lives staying with a horrible employer to keep our health insurance . . . and just so we can have doctors who ignore us until it's too late. It's ridiculous. This poor mother and her family. 😥
Many years ago a woman would stay in the hospital for 3 days after giving birth or at least 5 days after having a C-section. Now they are sent home one day after birth, I wonder how long they stay in after a C-section. It's the insurance that decides to only pay for the least days they can. I'm wondering if this woman was sent home too soon, or was she so sick she had to stay in the hospital, and was basically ignored.
Most C-section deliveries get a 2-day hospital stay as long as mommy has good vitals. I was in 4 days with my first because my BP was too high - all because they were using a youth cuff on my large arm.
Just had my second in June they sent me home in 2 days. With my first almost 10 years ago it was 4.5 days both c-section. I asked to stay longer but they said no.
@Alicia-um4rx congratulations on new baby. I think it is good to be cautious. Some might be concerned with more exposure at hospitals with longer stay like Mersa or covid.
I have 3 kids all delivered by c section. The years of birth was 2000,2007, and 2010 and I stayed a total of 3 days with my youngest 2 and 4 days with my oldest. I don’t know if that’s all changed now

You’d be surprised that healthcare in Asia is surpassing that of the West. Did my c- section in thailand and was blown away by the skills of doctors and their facilities. The fees are also nothing compared to that of the US.
The US is rapidly collapsing. Obama ruined healthcare and private practice medicine. It's all corporate now and only driven by $$$$$. They made billions during 2020. Were paid in advance for deaths and told to only use drugs that were guaranteed to end lives. Not a theory. Fact.
If she was bleeding internally, she would have been anemic or hypotensive or both. I'm surprised she was not in the OR after three or four days. She must have felt awful. So very sad for everyone in the family - especially the little girl who will never know the mama who wanted her SO badly. 😢 I had 'geriatric pregnancy' (they're not called that anymore), at age 41. It went smoothly, no c section or any precautions necessary...so don't let this story scare you if you're still trying.
My relative just had a beautiful baby boy and told me her pregnancy was called at “geriatric pregnancy” and she is 41 and that where she lives in PA they consider any pregnancy at age 35 or more to be “geriatric pregnancy”. I’m a senior citizen so she taught me something.
"advanced maternal age" they had to change it because folks are too sensitive these days. the older you are the more likely you or the baby will have complications. The US is pretty high up on the list of the most maternal mortalities out of all first world countries. Such a shame.
@@stormbunnie6966 It's no wonder, considering that geriatric generally refers to really old people, lol. These days, forty is barely middle aged. But yes, you are right - the US has a terribly low percentage of maternal care providers. It's actually pretty shocking.
@@evelynd1355 Her providers were pretty old school, since that's not what it's called anymore. (Actually, my OBGYN didn't give it any labels at all - he just gave me the thumbs up and said I was healthy, strong, and foresaw no complications at all.) Pregnancies over age 35 are now 'advanced maternal age.' I felt great, except for, you know, seven weeks of morning sickness, lol. But it's all about PC!
Outrageous. The same thing happened to my cousin. Luckily, they saved her. BUT! She suffered horribly for months after in the hospital. Utterly outrageous. R.I.P. Beautiful Mama💔
Medical care is not what it used to be. It took 3 trips to the ER in dire pain before they finally did a blood draw. I had sepsis, Then another 2 days to do an MRI and it showed I had a abscess on my spine close enough to paralyze me if I hadn't went the 3rd time to ER. Then 6 wks later they sent me home with a 3.5 centimeter aneurism leaking into my abdomen. A CAT scan the days before I was discharged would have found it. What saved me was a good PA that finally did the tests needed after I kept going back to ER..
I had something similar happen to me. They didn’t realize they had nicked me inside when they were cutting the cord from around my son’s neck. I was bleeding out internally. I had to get an emergency blood transfusion. I was lucky it was caught on time but that’s just because I told them I still felt like I was having contractions and felt the need to push. When I pushed huge blood clots started coming out.
Why would we be paying for the healthcare and all living expenses for people who came here illegally and don't contribute like all immigrants before? The system is completely broken and predatory for American citizens and taxpayers.

That hospital needs to say the bills are paid in full! Unfortunately with that poor mother's life! My daughter had a baby two years ago first child and the day she was released that night she ended up in the hospital then ICU for sepsis she almost died. I said the same thing don’t they check your blood and vitals when your in the hospital. She should have never been released it was terrible. And a long road I was taking care of my grandson day and night for almost four months because that’s how long it took for her to even feel a little better. This sounds like severe medical neglect. After a C-section you do not need morphine! And the lab results must have shown a rapidly increasing infection. Plus has no one ever palpated her abdomen after the surgery? There must have been signs of peritonitis. This is tragic!
@@SulaeyesI think it depends on how soon. You just had pain meds during the surgery and whatever it is that makes you not feel the incision so to add to that seems very over the top. I can say maybe hours after but right after seems negligent.
@@Sulaeyes Then you got treated in an inadequate way. I have already heard that US Americans often get morphine when in European countries ibuprofen does suffice. @@Celisar1I’ve had numerous laparotomy’s for endometriosis, ovary removal, then removal of a hydrosalpix, in Australia and each time have received morphine after surgery, and even was sent home with tablets as well.
Same thing happened to a friend, also with her second baby and it was her second c-section so she knew something wasn’t right, it took 3 days before the doctor listened to her, she slipped into a coma soon after. Thankfully she had life saving surgery and came out of her coma after 2 weeks, it was very touch and go for at least the first week though. It left her with needing additional surgeries for about 18 months after that and life long complications. It took years but they eventually won their law suit against the surgeon. Thankfully we have universal health care here, so that wasn’t so much of a worry, more so compensation for the torcher she and her family went through both physically and emotionally, as well as to prevent it happened again as the doctor just refused to even check if something was up and kept brushing her off, she knew she shouldn’t have been in the level of pain she was in or feeling like she was as her first was also c-section so she knew what it should feel like. She just kept getting brushed off by both the doc and midwives, telling her she had surgery, of course it hurts, she just must have a low pain threshold and wouldn’t listen when she tried explaining that it was a different sort of pain and other symptoms that later they learnt was her going septic.

Very glad you mentioned this. People are just cattle in this system. In and out and on to the next patient to keep the profits rolling in.

It’s worldwide at the moment. The care has gone and too many inexperienced medical staff.
( Doctors/staff in surgery forgot they packed her )
Just horrible
That should have been charted. Thank God she is still here.
Thanks for the warning ⚠️
So doctors messed up but there are still bills to pay. 😮 crazy America
America is busy for paying Israhell war and its free schools healthcare and more while own Americans paying the price for greedy politicians
Meaning of INSURANCE is gone as no-one should have a bill when paying a monthly premium.....
They have the option to sue
They don’t have to pay them. At worst the hospital/provider can try to sue her estate, they usually won’t to try to look better if the family sues.
Exactly!!!! Grrr!
Please help this family. Father will need all sorts of help💙I’m so sorry for your loss.. my condolences
I believe in general people are sent home much too soon.😊
Just had my second in June they sent me home in 2 days. With my first almost 10 years ago it was 4.5 days both c-section. I asked to stay longer but they said no.
@Alicia-um4rx congratulations on new baby. I think it is good to be cautious. Some might be concerned with more exposure at hospitals with longer stay like Mersa or covid.
I have 3 kids all delivered by c section. The years of birth was 2000,2007, and 2010 and I stayed a total of 3 days with my youngest 2 and 4 days with my oldest. I don’t know if that’s all changed now
😞 more and more preventable deaths. It is quite hard for the average joe to hold doctors and hospitals accountable. I'm so sorry for this family's loss.
Bless the mum in heaven 🇦🇺🦘
You don’t know that she’s in heaven
She is NOT in heaven, when a person dies they cease to exist. The same way you didn't exist before conception, you stop existing after death. On the day of resurrection, if Yahweh (Jehovah) chooses, he will resurrect her. Read ecclesiastes 9 vs 5-6 and 10
Y’all need help fr
No hell is probably where she is .good people don't go to heaven righteous people do .Your soul doesn't Cease to exist Heaven and hell are real things. And the only way to heaven is Jesus. Her time was up There is no resurrecting. And God gives everybody a chance to turn to Jesus Before they die Most people reject it. So most people will perish for lack of knowledge.
@@CemyraAmen. The truth hurts though, so the majority will reject it, or pretend that it does not exist. They will be in for an eternal rude awakening.
Dear God, what a tragedy. My prayers for the family. This is a “mistake” that should absolutely never happen again. RIP Mommy Angel 🙏
What was her cbc? Red blood count? Hemoglobin and hematocrit? Wbc? Blood pressure? Pain level? How was this over looked! This is not acceptable! That doctor AND those nurses should have their license taken away
I like how they forced her to say geriatric pregnancy when it was 100% the hospital's negligence and incompetence. I'm sure they'll still send them the $30,000 bill too
Oh, I promise you, that bill and more will be covered by the upcoming medical malpractice lawsuit.
Geriatric pregnancy meaning a woman over 35. That's just the truth
@@ScarlettEmeraldASMR and what does it have to do with the story though? They already trying to blame shift
@@vivalabad6that was her sister in law telling why the c-section was scheduled. It was to put emphasis on the fact it was not an emergency so the doctor was not in life saving hurry up mode. Scheduled vs emergency means the doctor’s actions will be looked at differently.
@@ScarlettEmeraldASMRI am sure her weight didn’t help because the abdomen would have been more difficult to navigate. In any event, it is very sad and it should have been avoided. From what I have read of sepsis…sometimes hard to pinpoint.
You’d be surprised that healthcare in Asia is surpassing that of the West. Did my c- section in thailand and was blown away by the skills of doctors and their facilities. The fees are also nothing compared to that of the US.
My C section in New Zealand was free. God bless her family.
The US is rapidly collapsing. Obama ruined healthcare and private practice medicine. It's all corporate now and only driven by $$$$$. They made billions during 2020. Were paid in advance for deaths and told to only use drugs that were guaranteed to end lives. Not a theory. Fact.
May I ask what hospital? I need a hysterectomy and can't get it done in Canada and don't want to go to the US. Thanks!
Rest in peace beautiful. This is a tragedy and preventable. Lord protect her kids and family.
If she was bleeding internally, she would have been anemic or hypotensive or both. I'm surprised she was not in the OR after three or four days. She must have felt awful. So very sad for everyone in the family - especially the little girl who will never know the mama who wanted her SO badly. 😢
I had 'geriatric pregnancy' (they're not called that anymore), at age 41.
@@bjdlvr maternal mortality rate means the women are dying usually during or tight after birth.

Outrageous. The same thing happened to my cousin. Luckily, they saved her. BUT! She suffered horribly for months after in the hospital. Utterly outrageous. R.I.P. Beautiful Mama💔
Respect,heartfelt condolences n family/friends stay strong
Medical care is not what it used to be. It took 3 trips to the ER in dire pain before they finally did a blood draw. I had sepsis, Then another 2 days to do an MRI and it showed I had a abscess on my spine close enough to paralyze me if I hadn't went the 3rd time to ER. Then 6 wks later they sent me home with a 3.5 centimeter aneurism leaking into my abdomen. A CAT scan the days before I was discharged would have found it. What saved me was a good PA that finally did the tests needed after I kept going back to ER..
I'm so sorry for their loss!😢😢
Sending prayers and love to her family
Thanks to your prayers, the problem was fixed somehow! Amazing!
Why would she be paying the hospital who killed her? I’m so confused….
Why would we be paying for the healthcare and all living expenses for people who came here illegally and don't contribute like all immigrants before? The system is completely broken and predatory for American citizens and taxpayers.
How awful! It took 8 days to figure out what was going on? They should have known in hours… that poor family

Emmerson is beautiful. So sorry for her mum and family. Thirty-nine isn't old. If she was a teen, people would have something to say about that too.
Condolences dad. R.I.P Mum. 🌷.
That hospital needs to say the bills are paid in full! Unfortunately with that poor mother's life!
The father is already overwhelmed with losing his wife, taking care of a newborn who will never know her mother and a special needs teenager!
Any money raised needs to go to the family expenses but you know the hospital or collector is going to hound him for money knowing he needs to concentrate on his family! It could also ruin his credit! But that would be the least of my worries!
Sue that hospital, doctor(s) and anyone else who was involved in the prevatable death of a mother who only knew her baby for a few short days.
May she rest in peace and be a guardian angel protecting her family from heaven! 😔🙏💔😢
Really sad. I had both my kids at 40, 41 with no issues and no C-section. I am so sorry for this family.
This isn't right. Jesus, heal this family and give them peace.
Jesus is coming. On April 9, 2021, my vision went black for a quick moment, then I saw in gold letters - Thus saith the Lord. About four hours later, On April 10, in my sleep I heard - Prophet. Tell them I am coming soon. Maybe 3-5 min after that, at 1235 AM, our area had a 3.1 eq.
Never mind all that nonsense, hospitals failed this woman, and Jesus didn't save her. Only the justice system can provide some financial help to this family. They shouldn't have to be doing Go Fund Me.

Omg!shocking and so truly sad for all of that family!!! heartbreak ing..bless this family
These hospitals, doctors, and nurses more than half of them aren’t worth a dam. I could go on and on about the whole experience but I don’t feel like writing a book. Sorry for this family and the children. Hold all of these hospitals and staff accountable!
ALL SURGERIES HAVE RISKS. Surgeons are just regular people who happen to have many extra years of schooling.
Sorry for the family and what the poor mother went through. That should never have happened. But, why is it everyone needs help because they are the sole provider….. I have been a sole provider of my son with many medical issues and learning disabilities. It’s called life. You deal with it and go on.
This sounds like severe medical neglect.
After a C-section you do not need morphine!
And the lab results must have shown a rapidly increasing infection.
Plus has no one ever palpated her abdomen after the surgery? There must have been signs of peritonitis.
This is tragic!
I had morphine after my C section. Even a physician would not make a blank statement about pain control after a major surgery.
@@SulaeyesI think it depends on how soon. You just had pain meds during the surgery and whatever it is that makes you not feel the incision so to add to that seems very over the top. I can say maybe hours after but right after seems negligent.
Over 38 years ago I was given morphine after my c-section. Have you had a c-section? As I recall, the pain was bad.
@@Sulaeyes
Then you got treated in an inadequate way. I have already heard that US Americans often get morphine when in European countries ibuprofen does suffice.
I have never seen any patient, not a single one, getting morphine postoperatively. But what are my 20 years of experience in the field in comparison to your one C- section. :)
@@Celisar1I’ve had numerous laparotomy’s for endometriosis, ovary removal, then removal of a hydrosalpix, in Australia and each time have received morphine after surgery, and even was sent home with tablets as well.
How awful! So sorry for the loss
this had nothing to do with her being a 'geriatric mother' - it was the surgeon's incompetence
Bless the mama and baby heart
I think her weight may have been an issue as well
Prayers for your family and friends. And for the dad and his precious girls. Momma is now they're guardian angel.
Geesus these medical people need to do better!!!! Fly high Momma😢
Sue the Hospital this is Sad
