That Skrillex x Zomboy collab remix was one of the biggest moments in all of dubstep for me. Seeing two of the biggest artists in dubstep, who had at one point seemed to be at odds with each other working together was absolutely huge.
I love this documentation of part of Skrillex's career that I don't feel is covered enough. When QFF and DGTC came out back in February I tried getting my friends to understand why I loved Skrillex's music so much and realized how many memories I had of loving his remixes. I know you're not too hot on them, but I remember loving the Bad Man remix and going bonkers when Red Lips finally released. 2013-2016 was truly when I was at my most obsessed. I think I have his 2015 Ultra set engraved in my memory. Thank you so much for these videos!
I’m with you on that, That ultra set is the reason i’m obsessed with edm and bass music the way i am today, i was already a skrillex fan from 2011 but that 2013-2016 era was what shaped my taste forever

Love that the Imagination, We Winnin & Face My Fears Remixes got highlighted aswell (though when discussing Make A Move, you could’ve maybe brought up how he changed the final version of the song like a month after the initial release, but im just nitpicking here xD) Absolutely loved the series overall!!
one of the reasons i love skrillex is that even when i don’t necessarily like a track (like his more pop-ish collabs / remixes) i can still really appreciate the quality of his production. he really is the GOAT. even his early music before Scary monsters was extremely unique and full of this “fck it, i make what i want” energy. Today with tracks like Tears he’s still pushing boundaries on defined genres. never understood why he got so much hate back in the day…
I feel like music isn't a super big topic to cover on youtube due to copyright. I can tell that despite that, this man does not care, and continues to talk about music. Legend status right there.

Man, 2014-2016 is my favourite Skrillex era. The Recess Album, Jack U album, closing set of Ultra 2015, boiler room set of 2016, the frequence OWSLA release, OWSLA Radio ... I was blasting everything on my speakers daily. As opposite if you. These few years are the years I was brought back in into loving Skrillex and EDM as a whole. Good people good times🫶🫶
Lol Burial, Badman, and Red Lips are my favorite remixes of his. That era of skrillex had so much energy and flavor. Everything previous feels dated to me but post 2013 skrillex still hits like its brand new

You definitely know what you're talking about but LH4L didn't "take advantage" of anyone, original artists are legally allowed to release remixes of their songs without asking the remixer for permission.
This isn't true at all. Sonny's remix was never finished and he only made it as his intro to his Ultra 2015 set. He never intended to release it, and LH4L did not have his permission. A remix legally is very similar to a collab, you absolutely need both artists permission to release it officially and legally. LH4L was 100% exploiting his popularity by trying to release his unfinished remix on his mixtape.
