My 2024 has just arrived in Sydney. Pick up next week. Let’s not forget to be grateful to Mazda for this is still all real roadster while others have come and gone or electric with I pads for instrument clusters. Thank you Mazda for keeping it a real drivers car❤
Yeah, these articles just tell me that whoever is writing this stuff just doesn't get the Miata. And I'm with you, they won't change my mind. My Miatas have been the most fun and most reliable cars I have ever owned.
That news article.... there's no comparing the Miata to the other 3, they don't come close to the same premium design that the MX5 has, period. It's been in my radar for a little while now and hopefully next year I can pick one up as my secondary weekend driver.
Great channel, thanks! Dismissing what needs to be dismissed and moving on is always a good idea. In the meantime, my 24 Club goes into production next week or so, according to my dealer.
Nice Zeke ! Good to see somebody putting the real Miata Sales numbers into perspective ! I saw a couple of new UA-cam videos on the 2024 MX-5s that owners made. Not real in depth more of them driving & having fun. Still thinking on a 2024 upgrade or just stick with my 2016 Club soft top. Definitely a sticker shock from when I bought in the 1st week of March 2017. That was the week the RFs came out & of course many people wanted those as they were coming off the transport trucks already sold !
I've been saying the same thing on sales, so thanks man. They're late to come out which does affect numbers. I'd also point out in the Edmunds video all the cars were 24s except the MX-5 which is a 23... Hey, I'm an old gen X'er & DD a 22RF. Rolled up 10k on it last year. In a week or so I'll take delivery on a 24 and can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks for the videos!
The new screen was a bit larger but no better rear view camera look. Console a fraction larger. No comments on lighting change. It made me happier to keep my 2023 GT RF!😊
Yeah, I would agree that if you already have a 2023 it's not much of an upgrade to a 2024. I am curious about the new differential and track mode on the traction control though. Unfortunately, my channel does not make enough money to put one through the kind of test I would like to do LOL.
@@MiataChannel - I guess if you were an expert on tracking and could compare old and new Club models you might be able to tell. Otherwise as an amateur driver who just has fun on backroads it’s impossible to say the 2024 Miata better than the old model. Definitely not worth paying much more money. I would recommend buying one from 2019 -2023 and save some money for a smoother ride in my opinion. I don’t feel any real difference in the steering or ride that would justify buying a new one.(Unless you want a new model.)
I retired in 2022 & feel great about it. The company I worked for 9 years were making you time in / time out for each project - I had up to 4 or 5 daily. Meetings everyday discussing the project updates. The Bean counters had taken over in Micro Managing every facet of the Business. Plus it was a Charles Koch company & in order to get ANY raises you needed to out perform in the whole group - my last 2 years no raises despite the inflation. Pitting employees against each other - just BAD Management made me leave. Turnover there was very high. I stayed because it was very close to home & liked the actual work.
Since the 24 are coming picked up a 23 GT at 0.9 financing through Mazda and 1000 off with eligible discounts. Had Clubs previously and I will have to say absolutely love the touring extras especially the auto dimming rear view and drivers side mirror.
Yeah, my friend Elicia from some of the earlier videos just traded her Soul Red 2017 RF GT off for a Crystal White 2023 RF Club Brembo/Recaro. There are some deals out there.
I just bought a new 2023 Miata in January with the .09 percent for 36 months incentive. Really enjoying the Miata. The 2024's will sell well if they continue to offer the low rate.
Makes me wish I hadn't just dumped a bunch of money into my NC. I might have taken advantage of that. I think I am gonna wait to see if they offer any special editions to round out the ND run.
I just drove a New 24 Miata GTRF. My goal was to compare it with my 23 to see if the new one changed the driving dynamics. Well after a short drive I think the steering was a bit heavier and the suspension was a bit stiffer feeling- more road feeling. Not much difference but I’m curious as to what other Miata experts think? Absolutely nothing to justify a trade!😊
I'm going to try to get a drive in one, but the dealers around me aren't real keen on letting you drive them if you aren't buying. I'd really like to do the same thing I did with the 2022s and take one on a Miata drive with the club. I really want to take one down into Oregon and drive on some of those roads.
I’m going to buy an ND3 if the next Miata goes hybrid or EV or anything else that gets away from the light weight formula. But I’m having a hard time deciding on a color combination. Mazda sure is making it difficult. Someone in the design department needs to turn back the clock and look at some of the colors offered twenty years ago.
Personally, I will bet good money that an EV is not in the immediate future of the Miata. Hybrid could be a possibility. I am waiting to see if the NC loses the "boat" title when it comes out. But yes, I agree on the lack of colors... current selection is atrocious. Its part of Mazda's push to go more "upscale".. and while these colors work for SUVs they really suck for fun cars. I'm kinda keeping my ear to the ground, but I may considering getting one of the next gen cars in the future.
Agree that shades of white and grey are boring but for an old guy like me red too shouty.Getting a non colour, black.Their new black no longer a mica finish.
Enjoy your channel so much. Do you have any intel on when the next generation will be out? Does the '24' refresh tell us that we are going to wait many more years? 💁♂️
No official word from Mazda, but rumor has it that it will be coming in 2026. Ten years seems to be the sweet spot for a new Miata. It's supposed to be electrified by 2030, but I am strongly in the camp that the next Miata will not be a EV, but rather a mild hybrid.
The only MX-5s for sale for first quarter of 2024 were the leftover model-year 2023 MX-5's, so yeah sales were probably down. The refreshed/updated 2024 model just started hitting the lots recently in limited numbers.
Last year, the 2023 models started arriving in January, and the dealers were fairly well stocked by this time of the year. We didn't even get the configurator information until February, and we usually get that in December. They are about 2 months behind on everything for 2024... so it's no surprise to me they aren't selling as many as last year.
Yes, it’s hard to get in and out of a Miata. But it’s so worth it! I dailied an ND1 for over 4 years, and I’ll probably buy another one within the next year.
Miata is getting too expensive. Top trim for over 40k EUR is a lot, when for 60k EUR you can get a base Porsche 718. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, and I love it, but it's no 718.
It's actually a better deal now than it was in 1990. It's also not trying to be a Porsche. It's trying to be a Miata... and for 150% of the price of a Miata, a Porsche better be an upgrade.
@@MiataChannel I never drove a 718, but most people who drove both do seem to think there's enough of an upgrade for the money. On the other hand, 718 definitely comes with a significantly higher maintenance cost too.
@claudiu7219 My friend Adam, who owns the 2003 Project Ron NB, a 2020 ND Club soft top, and a 2002 SE NB also owns a 718 Boxster 4.0. He was the person I mentioned who couldn't decide between a ND2 and a 718, so he bought both. We are planning on doing some comparisons between all of the above.

They chose the Elantra because of “practicality and it was cheap with more horsepower.” Anything I learn about Korean cars is they have awful maintenance.
