STRIDE + SWING PIANO SUMMIT 2008 in Switzerland. Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi performed George & Ira Gershwin's 'I Got Rhythm' at the "Alte Kirche Boswil".
Hey Josiah566. Yeah, I Got Rhythm is Gerswhin, but I was listening to a few other of this Stephanie Trick's performances on UA-cam, and she does some Jelly Roll and she's simply incredible at it! Next best thing to Mr. Jelly himself!
Very well done! It is much livelier and lengthy compared to the version I sang in a "Girl Crazy," a high school play where I played the love-struck sheriff about 51 years ago. Brought back some great memories. Thank you!
This is a great version of this piece done by 2 great jazz pianists. For another version for one piano, I would recommend Hiromi Uehara's performance, also available on UA-cam.
That's exactly where Evans, Hancock and Camilo come from! Any jazz pianist who doesn't come from ragtime, stride and the blues/boogie-woogie department has missed the point of what jazz piano is.
Great pianists both of them, my respect!!! Mrs and Mr Gershwin would NOT like this beauty and " very originally virtuoso" version. time goes...but, in my very modest opinion, THE RHYTHM would be always the RHYTHM.
I didn't reaiise Stephanie had been playing with Paolo for so long. I did see them together in B'ham Uk in 2014. i have to be honest, good pianist though he is he doesnt help Stephanie much. The comic routines are Ok (eg Sheikh of Araby ) but Stephanie's skill is stride where she leaves Paolo by the wayside ! This I gto rhythm is particularly awful !
Favolosi!!! ❤
Mesmerizing! What a talent, a joy to hear and see, she obviously loves what she does and is gifted to boot.
Great to hear their talent unleashed on two separate instruments. Listening 2 this recording is just once is not enough!

You are simply incredible. Your talent is immeasurable.
What other Jelly Roll do you know? Put more Jelly Roll out here for me!
Che coppia!!!
Un caro saluto e a presto!!!
Oh, and Grandpa's Spells is one of my favorites!
Bravooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

amen to that! GRANDPA'S SPELLS heard of it?
oh btw isn't this Gershwin? not Jelly Roll?
"Stay-fahnee Treek!"
Grandpa's spells was composed by Jelly Roll Morton, you're right.
Ditto errolltheelf's comment of 2 years ago.
Whose idea was it to put her back to the audience. Good grief
