Never seen anyone enter the operating room and shooting all of the doctors instantly, even the one that was cowering in the corner jesus, that was cold
I really like how they mirrored the beginning, the whole prologue, played in reverse from when he picks up Ellie, running and this time saving the girl from the soldiers shooting at them, the car ride, and ending in control of her.
When Joel and Ellie are at the edge watching the giraffes, you can stay there for as long as you want. The developers made it so the gamer decides when to leave "this last happy peaceful scene".
“So people have asked me, ‘Why would Joel do that when he could of saved the world?’ And my answer to them is always this: he did. He did save the world. It’s just that the world was that girl and that’s it.” - Troy Baker (Joel’s game actor)

It never gets old watching someone else fall in love with this game that i've been in love with for 10 years. I played through the game 10+ times, watched the TV show and i'm still watching youtube playthroughs. Watching your playthrough was one of my favourites so far and I can"t wait to see you play the DLC next!
“I’m scared to keep playing because I like where we’re at.” That’s why I have so much admiration for this game series. I can’t think of any other game that got me caring so much about the characters that I almost wanted to stop progressing through the game for the same reasons you stated.
this is why I love your channel. The way you were touched by the scene with the giraffe is so amazing. Some people don't see the underlining message of the scene, but you got it immediately "There is still life out there" there is still hope. This scene is what makes Ellie feel like the world might just be worth saving again (after her encounter with David). I love the way you are so emotionally invested in this game, its exactly how I was, and it's so fun seeing someone have the same experience
Left behind was a good game but should have been a full game in itself. I found a lot of it underwhelming and a bit boring. I won't go into specifics because of spoilers. There was enough there to build upon very easily including a really interesting route they could have gone with one of the characters that could have been completely different from this and TLOU Part 2.
@@PeteC1471it was supposed to be part of the main story originally like it was on the tv-show, but they found it too disruptive. As for Part 2, I also wish they expanded more, but at that time they didn't even know they were going to make a second game yet, the whole sequel story was created after
She didn't understand the story at all, like so many others. There was never going to be any "cure." This is made clear AF to anyone paying attention. The Fireflies were incompetent morons. Joel would be a villain if he let that butcher cut Ellie's brain out. That p o s was not even a real doctor. He didn't go to medical school or had an internship after the collapse of civilization. And brain surgeons don't make v's. Specially for a fungus.
@@PattyMcqG man, even in 2015 when I finished the game it was obvious that nothing would be happy. I'm sorry but how can you even think from that "okay" of Ellie that they will just have a happy life?
Ellie: "I dreamt about flying the other night." Eralia: (doesn't try to talk to Ellie, keeps moving Joel away from her) Ellie: "Never mind, it was a stupid dream." Me: 😥
@@electriczombie2573 During the first chapters of the game missing the optional conversations is understandable, since you're still learning all the game mechanics. But by this point of the game (i.e. the ending) you should be used to your allies saying something open-ended like this and realizing "Oh, they probably want to say something, I should go to them and see if I can click triangle to hear more."
I know, it's so sad. And the one about Tess back at Bill's. To be fair, I've never ignored those so it's cool to see the alternate lines. Plus the airplane one didn't pop a prompt or sound effect right away, so I can see how it'd be missed.
@@jhornacek Seriously. At first I thought “Oh wow, she gets that Ellie is traumatized, she followed up on the guitar comment”, but then she was like “Ellie idgaf about your dream”. Not a great start.
@@TukaihaHithlec I think she knows she doesn't have one, so she's just begging. When Joel first woke up she assumed he was the same smuggler she knew back in Boston - the emotionally shut-off loner who didn't care about anyone. She had no idea that he and Ellie had bonded during their trip.
I’m so ready for you to play part 2. I won’t say anything but get ready..grab tissues, a dozen energy drinks, a stress ball, lock your doors and windows and use all your PTO.
Hands down one of the best play throughs of TLOU1 I’ve seen. Part 2 is going to ruin your life in the most glorious ways I absolutely cannot wait to see you play it.
8:35 this whole scene is probably my favorite part of the whole game. the music turns me into a sobbing mess every time i hear it. in the OST, it’s called “Vanishing Grace (Innocence)” which i think is sadly very fitting. after everything these two have been through, despite the fact that Ellie has lost that sense of innocence after David, she still has this really pure moment of childlike wonder that is so moving to see. and i think this is the moment Joel really consciously accepts that he loves her like a daughter and would do anything to keep her safe. i love that you can just stay there on the roof for as long as you want. it was satisfying to see that the scene hit you the same way. ❤️🩹
Eralia, before you start playing Part 2 you might wanna check if there is a good psychotherapist near the place you live. You never know when you might need one.
Joel did over step but it was either loose a daughter again and never have that void filled or save the world and go through that pain again. Amazing story telling enjoy part 2 its going go to be a emotional roller coster.
it's not only about him, I think it was more about her than him, all throughout the game you kinda get the idea that this world is not worth fighting for
@@Hyuugo1man, it's the absolute contrary of what Ellie feels. On the contrary, all the People Who struggled and died made her want to die for the others to live, because world was worth it
@@artemyburakh12 she didn't get the chance to giver her opinion beforehand, + I think it doesn't really matter to Joel what she would have wanted : she got to live a fairly happy life until (you know what happened in the sequel)
It's about what she wanted, it's not his life to intervene, plus she has hinted that what she wanted several times in the game, yet Joel is too selfish to give af about what she wanted.
@@808hearmannxea2 that's true but we don't know what its like to loose a daughter and live 20 years having nightmares and one day this girl thats annoying you along your journey together gives you a reason to fight and keep going it's a hard choice definitely but I think any parent or anyone who grows close to someone and they fill that void they have because of the lose of someone close to them would do exactly what Joel did.
I've been waiting all series for you to reach the giraffe sequence, seen it so many times and it still brings a lump to the throat! Have greatly enjoyed reliving the game vicariously through you Eralia.
Also... it's well worth spending some of your accumulated XP on the "making of" documentary in the Extras portion of the game, it really is fantastic seeing the voice/mocap actors do their thing, the composer (Gustavo Santolalla) talking about his process, etc etc
I gotta say, I've watched so many LP's of this game and this one is definitely my favorite. You are so receptive emotionally as well as your ability to appreciate and understand the reasoning behind everything. It really makes for a satisfying watch. Keep up the great content!
Joel telling Ellie that you always find something to fight for while grabbing his watch always makes me tear up a little. He fights to survive because he knows Sarah wouldn't want him to just lie down and die.
watched all the part 1 vids from you and i gotta say.. your reactions were so empathetic. I remember the first time ive played it and felt the exact same way. Ngl it was a heavy flashback seeing all this and feeling with you. Thanks for the ride.
It's been so cool to see how much your playstyle changed over the game, and to see how much better you got with not only the enemies but also the way the game tells the story through details. I bet you would love a second playthrough where you find all the things you missed in the first few episodes. Nevertheless, this has been such a wonderful let's play and i'm so excited to watch you play part 2 :)
8:16 Loved your giraffe feels🥰, the giraffe was what brought Ellie out of her depression a bit and also was to show us that even with the dark depressing world there is still beauty, light, hope, giraffe scene is one of the most relaxing gorgeous parts of the game.😍😄
when the show was still on air people were waiting the giraffe scene so eagerly like literally everything else in the show didn't matter, it was so funny to me
I Can't tell you how much I scream "noooo" when Ellie's was trying to tell you about her dream with the plane This was an amazing journey to experience with you, I can't wait for you to play Left Behind and Part II
Oh boy. I hope Eralia gets to read this. I'm SO happy I found your channel! I've played Part 1 seven times, and Part 2 for 12, still shedding tears on every playthrough. I just love them so much. Watching your first time has let me relive my own first playthrough which is what I've been dearly missing for a long time. Accompanied by magnificent commentary, sharp insights and beautiful singing voice of an adorable persona like you made this an absolute treat! I love to see how you appreciate the same aspects of the game than I do. I will dearly enjoy all of this for Part 2 and RDR2 as well. Thank you so much! Never stop.
I know it's been over a year and you probably won't see this but I loved this playthrough so much! It really felt like you empathized with all the characters and were so into the whole story and side stuff. Makes it a lot more entertaining and fun for the people watching your playthrough as well! I came to this playthrough because you said on episode 1 of part 2 people should watch this one first, so I decided to do so. I don't regret it😊
The way I look at it is like this: The defining feature of sacrifice is that it's voluntary. The willingness to sacrifice is what gives it it's meaning and moral weight. Sacrifice that is forced on someone who doesn't willingly choose, or has their capacity to choose taken away from them, isn't sacrifice, it's murder. There has been a lot of debate over the ending of this game for a decade now, and I have always understood this debate to be missing the point. It has essentially always been chalked up to "a grey area," discussion, despite the fact that if one really takes the time to examine the moral implications surrounding sacrifice, and examining the situation in full from that foundation, an objective conclusion on one side or the other can indeed be arrived at. There is a discussion to be had about whether or not he should have lied and all that, but that's a separate discussion. Joel did the morally right thing, and his actions to fulfill that are therefore necessary. Sacrifice HAS to be voluntarily given - as I said that is what makes sacrifice sacrifice and gives it weight. Marlene didn't just attempt to force sacrifice on Ellie without her willingly giving her life, she did so by removing Ellie's capacity to even choose. She didn't actually ask Ellie what she would choose, despite telling Joel it's what she would want and that even he knows it, because at the end of the day neither of them ACTUALLY know it. Marlene only thinks she does because no matter how well you know someone, they can still surprise you. It might be the case that, against all expectations, Marlene asks Ellie to give her life and she says no. That risk was too much for Marlene so she took away Ellie's capacity to choose and decided to speak for her in saying, "It's what she'd want." There has also been the discussion about Joel taking the choice away from her too, which is also a misguided discussion. Joel didn't take away her choice because it wasn't his to take. It was legitimately already taken away by Marlene. If it was the case where they would have let Joel remove her from the situation and ask her, well then he would have, but they didn't. They didn't allow Joel to do that nor would they have, because if they were interested in Ellie actually choosing they would have asked her from the start. Joel's actions of killing the fireflies and removing Ellie from the situation didn't take away her choice, as they were actions in direct response to the fireflies already having taken away her choice. It just so happens that the actions necessary to remove her from the situation, allow her to regain consciousness, and then give her the proper choice, destroyed the very circumstance in which she would make that choice. Sacrifice should be given, not taken. No one deserves to live or die more than anyone else. All life is sacred, all life is equal no matter your crime. It doesn't matter if it's one life weighed against one life, or one life weighed against all others, the scales remain balanced. Forcing sacrifice on anyone, even for the sake of the rest of humanity, is morally reprehensible. To do that to Ellie, is to say that she deserves to die more than everyone else, and everyone else deserves to live more than her. Regardless of whether or not it would make the world a better place, a world that would force such a thing, does not deserve the sacrifice it would yield. I believe if we all took ideas like this seriously, and to heart, and really examined the situation we find the world in, we would be in a much better place, because many more of us would be willing to do the right thing, to stand up and risk our lives for the sake of others.
I love that 9 of your 12 most watched videos are for this series!! Obviously you have connected with fans of the game. I think that you are really going to enjoy part 2 because you tend to analyze things. Part 2 is a really wild ride and I look forward to watching you play it.
Hey Eralia! don’t forget to play the Left Behind DLC! it gives greater insight into Ellie’s background, can’t wait to see you unpack the story of part ll, cheers!!
Yeei you made it!!! I totally enjoyed a lot your playthrough. Your comments, your thouhgts, your emotions; next level! Thanks for being so open to show us your truly self during this game. Definitely will be watching more from you! 😉
Hello Eralia! I just wanna say that it has been a great walk with you playing this game. I've been here since day 1 with this game and I can tell you it was a fantastic experience. Thanks for everything you brought to us! Your emotions are amazing. About Joel's actions, I would say there's surely more than one opinion on this matter. When we discuss human emotions, its never black on white. Having said that, my opinion is as follows: having played the game and recently watched the series (what gave me more depth and new insights on the story), Joel is just perfectly right. As Tess told him in her death bed: "Save who you can save". And he did. He choose the love of his life, above else, above humanity itself. What did humanity gave Joel in the first place? PTSD and a dead daughter. Whats even left of humanity to save now? Raiders, bandits, rapists and slavers. The good people are either in a protected community or dead. After contemplating the giraffes with Ellie, he made his choice. He saw that mother nature is gaining strenght once again and the balance is coming back to the world once destroyed by humans. I wouldnt believe, that after protecting Ellie for months, Joel would just give her up like that. Hes not that kind of man. They didnt even know if they could create a cure. Even if it was 100% chance of really comming around with a vaccine, it would be in the hands of a third hand militia like the Fireflies. Would they spread it to the world? Would they give it even to FEDRA? No, they would probably use it to gain power. Thats what would come from Ellie's death. As Neil Druckmann himself, the giant mind behind this story said: Joel had the urge to protect Ellie at all costs. That means he could lie to her, as a father would have lied to his children to protect them. In the end, everything was about protecting Ellie. He saved the world. His world, his love. His light in the darkness. Joel is not a perfect human being. He did a lot of horrid things. For love. After the bible I wrote, please! Bring to us the DLC content, Left Behind, and if you can, play also the second game. But be prepared for it. Thank you again! Love!
thank you so much for your insight and for your comment, paulo! i completely understand where joel was coming from, in terms of being selfish/stealing ellie away (simple way of putting it), then lying to protect her from those trying to rob her of life and of the choice to live… it’s still quite a dilemma though, with the fate of mankind in his decision. whether it was a cure or not. thank you for watching and cheers to the next adventure! ❤️🎉

This was a play though to be admired. Thank-you for walking through the scenes. You are just being you which is exatly the way it should work. Don't change anything except what you find with your desire to deliver a better experience. But this was unpretentious and your reactions were very real. I agree, what a great game especially the character development between Ellie and Joel. I will never see a giraffe without thinking about that scene. That's pretty powerful. Their love for each other is genuine and deep.
Hey Eralia, its great that you finished htis fantastic story. For what it's worth, I was in a hosptial bed for a brief time when you uploaded the Winter Episode. It was exactly what I needed to kill some time. Doctors were wondering why I was crying, little do they know, I cry everytime I hear Joel call Ellie "Baby Girl". People don't realize how important it is to share experience, and put stuff out there for others. Thanks for this adventure. Wishing you the best in the future.

I've binge watched your let’s play of TLOU the past couple days and I gotta say I've never enjoyed a let’s play more. You’re a genuinely funny person I can’t even count the amount of times you made me laugh and you actually invest into the game and learn new stuff each time which makes me so happy! I played TLOU when it first came out but it still has such a special place in my heart and makes me hella emotional. What a great playthrough, as a gamer and a player of both games multiple times as well as some of other games you’ve played, this was so enjoyable. Your personality, humor, emotion , and vulnerability made this so so fun! Very happy I found your channel ☺️ can’t wait for next adventure!
Love your reaction and how involved you are, even how you cold heartedly did kill ALL of the doctors and nurses (you dont have to kill em all you know) but also being able to acknowledge that Joel has doomed humanity for all times out of selfishness. It tells me that you are capable of not thinking just in black and white, but having an open and reflecctive mind, wich is important for Part II. It is grey. It is very grey. Looking forward to see you play it but before you gotta play the Left behind DLC (YES it is a MUST). Please try to avoid any spoilers along the way and enjoy the ride. There is no half way with it.
The only other thing that hit me as hard emotionally as The Last of Us was the HBO show The Leftovers. If you haven’t watched it, I implore you to do so immediately.
FWIW, the two assisting nurses in the operating room are optional to kill. But seeing you do that expressionless - feel for Joel and save Ellie, to "WTF Joel" after all the killing for selfish reasons is what most people feel. I very much enjoy your gaming experience as you really let yourself emersed into the game with all the emotions and absorbing all the details. Besides the DLC, I do recommend you watch the HBO's adaptation of this first game if you haven't already. There is backstory on Anna with Marlene.
1:27:46 if you haven't watched HBOs The Last of Us, give it a try! Episode 9 will give you heaps of perspective with regard to Anna & Marlene. **Edit** holy shit, the way you took out the surgeon etc., that was absolute lazer focus! 😮
Been amazing watching you play my favorite game of all time for the first time. Seeing your reactions was just amazing. Tears and laughs. Cant wait to watch you play part 2.
Selfish as it may be, I agree with Joel's decision. If this is what we're willing to do for the continuation of the Human race, and be okay with it, maybe we shouldn't. New Jackson has managed to not only survive in this environment but thrive. I don't agree that sacrificing Ellie is an acceptable loss or a necessary evil.
Jackson will degrade over time too. The cables for their power will corrode, the turbines will break down, the dam will fall apart, no one's doing mining, refining and metal working or other industrial tasks to the point where you could replace that or all the other parts, and you can only salvage for so much & long. All our knowledge will further degrade too, same with all of our skills. We'll just fall further back into the dark ages, losing more and more people to the point where we potentially even go extinct. The choice the Fireflies made was just as much as a consequence of the world that they are living in. So if you think that ain't worth it, then you should view our real life world just the same, because humankind always did fucked up things like this that ended up advancing us further to where we are now. You'd have to become a full blown misanthrope.
The part with Joel carrying Ellie out of the hospital... I don't know if it was lost on most people or just didn't impact them as much, but you are the first person to get as emotional at that part as I did, because I did see the parallel between this and Sarah and the whole time I was trying to escape I kept thinking "not again, not again, not again" (which I'm sure is what Joel was thinking). That part was probably the most intense gameplay portion I've ever experienced in any game all because of how much I was invested in the characters, and especially the first time I played it, I didn't know how they were going to end the game, I didn't know if I was going to make it and was bracing for the possibility where everything repeats and Joel loses yet another daughter.
the giraffe scene might be my favorite in the game. it can be interpreted in so many different ways, even the actors and writers each have different interpretations of it, but for me it represents pushing through pain to get to those little moments of joy, it's a reminder that there's happiness waiting on the other side. sometimes life sucks, but you'll get your "giraffe moment", y'know? i've been thinking of getting a little giraffe tattoo for a while
I’m sure you probably know this now since it’s been awhile since this was uploaded. When ellie starts talking about her dream, it’s an optional conversation that you could’ve interacted with. Basically she talks about how a plane is going down full of people and she was trying to save them and went to the cockpit but she didn’t know the controls. This relates to how she’s the “cure for mankind” and doesn’t feel worthy. Also that she feels guilty for all of the lives lost because she’s immune and wants to help others.
it's been so fun watching you play this game!! your videos were definitely one of my favorite LP's for the game i've ever watched. i'm so excited for you to play the DLC and to play part two- thank you for sharing these videos!!

Eralia, story time. Due to the show my love for this series was rekindled. The last month or so I’ve been watching let’s plays and playing the games myself and rewatching the show. I’ve just been obsessed really lol. But I found your channel and I saw you had a let’s play so I wanted to watch it. I gotta say, this was the best let’s play for this game I’ve ever seen. Your humor, your enthusiasm for the game, and your reactions! Man, your reactions were so pure, heartfelt and I swear every time you broke down into tears I did as well. Very similar to how I experienced this game for the first time. I’m so glad I watched this and I can’t wait to see you play through the second game! Stay awesome. 💙
Fun fact: Joel didn't lie. In the first version of the game there was a tape recorder you found before the operating room scene that stated there are people like Ellie and the operation just killed them. They then removed that part from the game.
You're wrong. There was no such tape. The tape that was in the game was one where the doctor explained why Ellie's condition was unique among others he's seen. There was never a mention of others being immune, just infected they had autopsy'd.
1:39:39 @eralia So happy you enjoyed this Masterpiece of a thought provoking game and ready to prepare yourself for the emotional damage of the next cause this was like happy days in a park in comparison(don't think that's a spoiler just game tone comparison lol) So as you just finished it let it marinate (you were literally more dread than me though you shot the other doctors 😂) and you'll understand why Joel did what he did, remember when he tried passing Ellie onto Tommy, hope you understand now, after 20 years of suffering with Sarah's death becoming one of the hardest survivalist, do you really think after going all that finally breaking his rugged exterior and falling in love with Ellie like his own daughter literally as game says "When in the darkness look for the light" ,he was in the darkness for 20 years Ellie was his first sign of light to break through (so basically and unknowingly took what the fireflies themselves said to heart 😂), it's been a debate for years, but they going through all that together you really thought he would just be like okay sure no problem go ahead and kill my second daughter, mind you last image of her was drowning and they wasn't going to let him see her at least, any person that deeply loves someone and know they have the skills to save their loved ones, and this was his literally second chance, especially since vaccine was a not complete guarantee, of course Joel was going to try to save her. Plus Joel knows the world and how people are, even if it was successful mankind would probably try to find a way to exploit or use it to bargain with to him Ellie was worth more than people being selfish and also be cause they drugged her she didn't get to choose so he chose Ellie's life because he loves her. I really was hoping he may let Marlene at least live but I understood why he didn't cause Ellie wouldn't be safe if the head was still alive. He also lied to Ellie to protect her, because even though she knew it in her gut something was wrong and he's probably lying, if he told her the truth she would suffer to much knowing what he did to protect her life so he committed himself to the lie. So sorry about the essay 😂 but in case you didn't notice I'm #TeamJoel. Cause after playing as I said let it marinate and sink in lol Glad again you were able to enjoy and experience this masterpiece in gaming ,keep great and take care of yourself 🤗
I'm fairly certain St. Mary's is loosely based on the hospital my sister was born at. The specific geography is changed, but they really nailed the general skyline and ambience of the downtown area. I also think the bus station is based on Union Station that's now part of the Gateway mall, and in the giraffe scene, my old neighborhood would have been just left of the temple and toward the mountains (north and east).
My girl shot EVERY doctor, Christ, i love it 😅 Joel did nothing wrong, i will die on that hill. Nothing was guaranteed, for all we know they were just murdering a kid without her concent. Good luck with Part II. You're gonna need it.
I am happy there is no sequel to this game, this is a good enough and beautifully told story as it is. Doesn't need more we can imagine the rest in a dream.
The biggest plot hole of the game is ... during all the months Joel and Ellie were traveling with nothing happening, they never took a day to teach Ellie to swim. 😄
I wonder if there's a way to plug that plot hole. Maybe Joel has a rash on his ass that gets worse when swimming so he tries to minimize the amount of swimming he does? Could somebody please come up with a better explanation? Please? 😄
1:33:08 yep … there is also the “egoistic” “philosophy”: make a choice for redirecting the train away from people who are dear to you. In the trolley problem, this would be self-defense. In an operating room, saving someone, maybe the same. Killing someone to prevent them from coming after you … not so much. Because it is preemptive killing, not saving from immediate danger.
Never seen anyone enter the operating room and shooting all of the doctors instantly, even the one that was cowering in the corner jesus, that was cold
I did the exact same thing my first playthrough. Was very surprised when I learned you could spare the other 2.
Yeah, that was brutal
I did the same. The worst (or best?) I've seen is someone kill the doc with a flame thrower and smash one of the nurses head into a wall! 😬😂
Agreed
I was thinking the same thing, she's a monster 😂

My collar is stretched and torn all to hell.
It's so sad.
Bye bye, collar.

When Joel and Ellie are at the edge watching the giraffes, you can stay there for as long as you want. The developers made it so the gamer decides when to leave "this last happy peaceful scene".

Someone should make it into an animated wallpaper.
The expressionless killing of the doctors surrendering and cowering in fear is killing me, lol

You went right into Joel's mindset.
"ONLY... ELLIE... MATTERS. MUST KILL. MUST KILL EVERYONE. ELLIE. ELLIE. ELLIE."
I like how Joel carries Ellie around the corridors in a desperate hope to save her, making sure to bump her head on each and every corner. :)
“So people have asked me, ‘Why would Joel do that when he could of saved the world?’ And my answer to them is always this: he did. He did save the world. It’s just that the world was that girl and that’s it.”

It never gets old watching someone else fall in love with this game that i've been in love with for 10 years. I played through the game 10+ times, watched the TV show and i'm still watching youtube playthroughs. Watching your playthrough was one of my favourites so far and I can"t wait to see you play the DLC next!
this was so sweet!! thank you and glad you’re enjoying ❤️
I hope they fix up the damn PC port. What an absolute travesty…
“I’m scared to keep playing because I like where we’re at.” That’s why I have so much admiration for this game series. I can’t think of any other game that got me caring so much about the characters that I almost wanted to stop progressing through the game for the same reasons you stated.
❤️
No spoilers for hopes she plays it, but red dead redemption 2. That one gives me way more feels than last of us, which is impressive
@@user-jt1js5mr3f I can completely understand that perspective. RDR2 is a fantastic game.

RED DEAD REDEMTION 2
this is why I love your channel. The way you were touched by the scene with the giraffe is so amazing. Some people don't see the underlining message of the scene, but you got it immediately "There is still life out there" there is still hope. This scene is what makes Ellie feel like the world might just be worth saving again (after her encounter with David). I love the way you are so emotionally invested in this game, its exactly how I was, and it's so fun seeing someone have the same experience
thank you so much catty!
Do no miss Left Behind before partII, some important bits in there to fully understand Ellie’s motivations in the next installment…
She said on stream and on the community panel that she'll play Left Behind. ;)
Left behind was a good game but should have been a full game in itself. I found a lot of it underwhelming and a bit boring.
I won't go into specifics because of spoilers.
There was enough there to build upon very easily including a really interesting route they could have gone with one of the characters that could have been completely different from this and TLOU Part 2.
i’ll be playing it soon!! thank you! ❤️
@@PeteC1471it was supposed to be part of the main story originally like it was on the tv-show, but they found it too disruptive. As for Part 2, I also wish they expanded more, but at that time they didn't even know they were going to make a second game yet, the whole sequel story was created after
"JOEL IS ON HIS VILLAIN ERA!"
Like we didn't just see her murder 2 other doctors in cold blood LMAO
🤣❤️
She didn't understand the story at all, like so many others. There was never going to be any "cure." This is made clear AF to anyone paying attention. The Fireflies were incompetent morons. Joel would be a villain if he let that butcher cut Ellie's brain out. That p o s was not even a real doctor. He didn't go to medical school or had an internship after the collapse of civilization. And brain surgeons don't make v's. Specially for a fungus.
Now imagine waiting SEVEN YEARS for Part 2
Word!😂
Well I didn't wait so 7 years I thought Joel lived happily ever after 😂
I didn't play Part 2, so in my world Joel & Ellie will forever live happily ever after in Tommy's village.
OMG i couldn’t imagine!!
@@PattyMcqG man, even in 2015 when I finished the game it was obvious that nothing would be happy. I'm sorry but how can you even think from that "okay" of Ellie that they will just have a happy life?
Ellie: "I dreamt about flying the other night."
Eralia: (doesn't try to talk to Ellie, keeps moving Joel away from her)
Ellie: "Never mind, it was a stupid dream."

I’ll never forget or be tired by this game. It will go down in history as one of the best.

Marlene wounded on the floor with Joel standing over her is a parallel to the soldier standing over Joel in the prologue - just before Sarah dies.
I like how we can see Marlene try to think of a good reason he should let her go before she just starts begging.

Eralia: Fights 2 bloaters and an army of clickers and runners
Also Eralia: Scared of a fish
8:35 this whole scene is probably my favorite part of the whole game. the music turns me into a sobbing mess every time i hear it. in the OST, it’s called “Vanishing Grace (Innocence)” which i think is sadly very fitting. after everything these two have been through,
despite the fact that Ellie has lost that sense of innocence after David, she still has this really pure moment of childlike wonder that is so moving to see. and i think this is the moment Joel really consciously accepts that he loves her like a daughter and would do anything to keep her safe. i love that you can just stay there on the roof for as long as you want. it was satisfying to see that the scene hit you the same way. ❤️🩹
it’s heartbreaking but they did it so well! music can really set the atmosphere, too 😭❤️
I loved the part where she's about to take out the flame thrower on the fireflies at the hospital and she's like noo... "This is too extreme" XD
🤣🤣
Eralia, before you start playing Part 2 you might wanna check if there is a good psychotherapist near the place you live. You never know when you might need one.
LOL thank you! i’ll ask around 🤣😭
I really enjoyed your attention to details and your willingness to be open with your emotions as you engaged with the story. Thank you; nicely done.

@@808hearmannxea2 that's true but we don't know what its like to loose a daughter and live 20 years having nightmares and one day this girl thats annoying you along your journey together gives you a reason to fight and keep going it's a hard choice definitely but I think any parent or anyone who grows close to someone and they fill that void they have because of the lose of someone close to them would do exactly what Joel did.

watched all the part 1 vids from you and i gotta say.. your reactions were so empathetic.
I don't regret it😊
The way I look at it is like this:
The defining feature of sacrifice is that it's voluntary.
That risk was too much for Marlene so she took away Ellie's capacity to choose and decided to speak for her in saying, "It's what she'd want."
There has also been the discussion about Joel taking the choice away from her too, which is also a misguided discussion.

Oh my gosh your reactions are so pure and unfiltered and emotional. You got me crying all over again!!
😭😭❤️
the giraffe scene might be my favorite in the game. it can be interpreted in so many different ways, even the actors and writers each have different interpretations of it, but for me it represents pushing through pain to get to those little moments of joy, it's a reminder that there's happiness waiting on the other side. sometimes life sucks, but you'll get your "giraffe moment", y'know? i've been thinking of getting a little giraffe tattoo for a while
it was such a beautiful moment!
I hope you will play part 2 because it's so exciting

I’m sure you probably know this now since it’s been awhile since this was uploaded. When ellie starts talking about her dream, it’s an optional conversation that you could’ve interacted with. Basically she talks about how a plane is going down full of people and she was trying to save them and went to the cockpit but she didn’t know the controls. This relates to how she’s the “cure for mankind” and doesn’t feel worthy. Also that she feels guilty for all of the lives lost because she’s immune and wants to help others.
Please play the Ledt Behind DLC, it's great! Also, the guys in the hospital weren't dying easily because they had armor on :)

Definitely my favorite TLoU playthrough! Well done! Also, the speed you put these out with was amazing! Can't wait for Part 2.
❤️😭 thank you!! coming soon!
1:39:39 @eralia So happy you enjoyed this Masterpiece of a thought provoking game and ready to prepare yourself for the emotional damage of the next cause this was like happy days in a park in comparison(don't think that's a spoiler just game tone comparison lol)
So as you just finished it let it marinate (you were literally more dread than me though you shot the other doctors 😂) and you'll understand why Joel did what he did, remember when he tried passing Ellie onto Tommy, hope you understand now, after 20 years of suffering with Sarah's death becoming one of the hardest survivalist, do you really think after going all that finally breaking his rugged exterior and falling in love with Ellie like his own daughter literally as game says "When in the darkness look for the light" ,he was in the darkness for 20 years Ellie was his first sign of light to break through (so basically and unknowingly took what the fireflies themselves said to heart 😂), it's been a debate for years, but they going through all that together you really thought he would just be like okay sure no problem go ahead and kill my second daughter, mind you last image of her was drowning and they wasn't going to let him see her at least, any person that deeply loves someone and know they have the skills to save their loved ones, and this was his literally second chance, especially since vaccine was a not complete guarantee, of course Joel was going to try to save her.
Cause after playing as I said let it marinate and sink in lol
Glad again you were able to enjoy and experience this masterpiece in gaming ,keep great and take care of yourself 🤗
My girl shot EVERY doctor, Christ, i love it 😅
Joel did nothing wrong, i will die on that hill. Nothing was guaranteed, for all we know they were just murdering a kid without her concent.
Good luck with Part II. You're gonna need it.
And they didn't pay him for delivering her.
😭😭🤣 thank you barto!! see you in part 2! 🙏🎉
3:20 missed a conversation with Ellie, she tells you about her dream.
You need to play the "Left behind" DLC before starting part 2 highly recommended! Great playthrough
soon! ☺️❤️
@@eralia Nice looking forward to it! Have a wonderful evening!
Please?
😄
@UTU49 IMO they should've had a physical reason why Ellie couldn't swim. Inner ear infection or something like that.
🤣
1:33:08 yep … there is also the “egoistic” “philosophy”: make a choice for redirecting the train away from people who are dear to you.
In the trolley problem, this would be self-defense. In an operating room, saving someone, maybe the same. Killing someone to prevent them from coming after you … not so much. Because it is preemptive killing, not saving from immediate danger.
Damn, you killed the nurses too. Ruthless haha.
😭😭
Only in a video game would the person trying to save an innocent child from being murdered be considered the villain
30:52 The a n x i e t y this gave me. 😆
Biggest chungus fungus amongus 🤣😂🤣
