    Interestingly enough, they started selling jackfruit at my local Kroger. It's more expensive than at Hmart so I don't get it but hey at least they have it I suppose.

    If I buy organic I can afford approximately one pint of strawberries once a month for 3 people to share.
    (My rent in downtown TO is like $2,500/month which is 80% of my income. I’m buying whatever I can afford) the creator just wants people to be healthy, so no hate to him:
    Just remember, eating non-organic fruit and veg is still healthier than no fruit and veg. Don’t take people’s recommendations too seriously if the advice can’t apply to you circumstantially!
    You’re doing your best, and you’re doing great!

    Just eat fruit & veg - conventional, organic, frozen, fresh, canned, freeze dried. Eat whatever you can afford it all! The amount of cancer cases from food pesticides is negligible. The amount of cancer cases from not eating plants is high.

    What does "organic" in the US mean?
    Here (Germany) it means that the soils and plants are treated more environmental friendly and there are so called "Blühstreifen", which are extra local flowers at the sode of the field to give the pollinators, other insects and wildlife an option.
    So, here it does make a change. But I am wondering what it means in the Us

    • @freethegays
      @freethegays Рік тому +7

      USA allows a lot of crazy pesticides the EU doesn't. Organic means most pesticides aren't used.

    • @juliesonnenblume
      @juliesonnenblume Рік тому

      @@freethegays so organic only regards pesticide regulations and nothing else?! thats poor US (well, the people responsible for the declaration, I guess), you could do better.

      @freethegays Рік тому +2

      @@juliesonnenblume The actual definition is a bit broader than that, it excludes other potentially toxic things. But not for the sake of the environment really, mostly because people don't want to eat chemicals that can cause cancer. I'm Canadian by the way, but it's pretty much the same here too.

      @@freethegays Thank you. It is so cool that you are so nice und politely answering here. Such a lovely thing in a comment section. 😊

      @@juliesonnenblume Aw :) my pleasure! Germany seems like a very nice country by the way; I love talking to people from across the world.
      By the way, I was wondering if you learned English so well in school, or if you had to study it by yourself?
