I love my 2017 Turbo Sonic, lil thang is cute but with a few adjustments an a couple of part replacement she runs like a champ an even has enough ka-hones to keep up with some supercharged v6 motors
I can tell you 7 things I wish they had done. 1 four wheel 2 disc brakes, 3 all wheel drive, 4 extend the rear of the car a couple feet to make more leg room, and even cargo space, 5 wider wheel base, 6, a bigger 4 cyl, like the 2.2 its a great engine and throw a turbo on it. 7, more comfortable armrest front and back.
I have the 2012 LS 1.8 5-speed. Power is linear, no turbo to lag, reasonably quick, extremely nimble with the Corvette Racing suspension (standard equipment) and happily cruises the interstate 400 miles between fuel stations. Of 25+ cars I've had these are the best seats. It's still fun and amazingly durable. Maintenance is key to that.
I had a 2014 Sonic Dusk which was a special edition. It came with a one-off special interior, special body package with air dam, side skirts and rear spoiler and special paint. 1.4 turbo and 18" wheels with Continental DWS-06 tires and other things too. Great package minimal upcharge, extremely reliable. It spent no time at the dealer and ran great with good performance and gas mileage. Unfortunately I had an accident on a flooded road during a major storm, totalled it or I'd still have it. I got loads of positive comments on its appearance. I now have a Cruze LTZ, which has been a good upgrade or I'd still have that Sonic.
Own a 1.3D LTZ. I really like Steering wheel response, 6 gear manual gearbox, sporty feel stock springs and cars overall handling. But i hate that 290L trunk and weak engine insulation.
Good video bro, I'm not small car person but thinking of a daily driving I'm considering small car to go around. My main car is a 2015 dodge charger R/T custom, so is a big change but I like the look of the new sonic, I have to said that considering the size of this little thing $21,000 loaded for a brand new, is kind of pricey here were I live. But anyway I really considering getting one.
No! Electric powered. Easy in town, stiffens with speed. Corvette Racing set up the suspension. Enter a curve with a little deceleration and it like on rails.
I guess my sonic handles alright, but torsion beam suspension is as far as you can get from racing. Just because Corvette engineers tuned it doesn't mean it's good.@@rdmineer1
So, the Chevy Sonic has a clutch to use with the manual transmission? I read online that it had a manual transmission possible driving mode......How dope is that? I don't know of any other car that has dual transmission.
Hennessey welch sad. The turbo one is slow. Nothing fast about it. Might as well get the naturally aspirated. It hesitates to shift. Even the manual screams to get up to speed.
My sonic is in the garage rn and I miss it
U get it running

Loaded? You mean power windows???

I wish GM would build an SS model with a bigger turbo . I drove a 500 abarth and it's a blast , but i would like a faster sonic !
Yeah, the Cruze has the bigger turbo and gets 158hp vs Sonics 13X hp.

The manual is so much better. Had an amazing clutch
I would have loved to drive a manual one!!
I have the manual and I love it
Steering looks loose. Is it??

@nbain66 It does have it's limitations, of course, but it's still fun and predictable on KY backroads.
I also got rear ended and got a 2019 sonic premier 😂

Many cars have a "manual" feature. It's not really manual but it lets you pick the gears but I don't think it will let you fuck your transmission up
@@yeetbomb2015 Good to know! I'll look for that!
Race inspired without the racing
Ehhh same station the radio in my Sonic is usually on. HOT 107.9. 🤣
U still have your sonic
This thing sounds cool until you find out it has 138hp and limited tuning/aftermarket capabilities
Wrong
@@2002-n8s gladly post pictures of your modded sonic with dyno numbers then. The car is slow as dog shit
@@dylanjason8505 it’s a daily driver Dylan.
Good car we'll built
What! Your missing the temp and oil pressure gauge lol wtf
how can you love anything about chevy fucking sonic....
Krzysztof Kolosinski I own a turbo and they are great. What do you drive?
Hennessey welch sad. The turbo one is slow. Nothing fast about it. Might as well get the naturally aspirated. It hesitates to shift. Even the manual screams to get up to speed.
Lincolnator you obviously haven’t driven a Chevy sonic turbo. I’m not saying they’re fast but definitely not as slow as everyone puts them out to be
what kind of car is this??? LMFAO DAVID CAR..
