I have the Agent Release version of the MT-24MCW in my collection. One time I wired it to strobe setting because every time I power the panel the alarms go off accidentally because I wired my heat detector incorrectly (now fixed)-and it made noise and no strobe. Then I figured out the jumper wires bypassed the strobe and went to audible so I removed it until the alarms weren’t automatically going off after I wired the heat detector correctly!
I work at an airport and we have these MT's set to the hi-lo tone for door alarms, which I much prefer. At my old airport, we had the same MT's, but all set to the continuous horn tone for door alarms and I swear going through any door was nerve-wracking not to set it off!
Seems like a pretty typical Simplex installation, with regular Simplex devices on the inside, and Wheelock devices on the outside (I believe they're approved by Simplex or the UL for use on Simplex systems). Even though there's new weatherproof TrueAlerts, still seems like there's installations with the Wheelock devices on the outside. Thanks for your input!
I've learned that lots of newer codes in many areas require code 3. And Go Animate guy, the reason it's so often on horn and not tone is because it's more annoying so people get out faster. That's the purpose of (most) fire alarms after all...
But it wasn't in the system. It was the bell change system. So I think it was hidden somewhere in the rafters so it could reverberate throughout the school. We did have a Wheelock AS in the multipurpose room though.
I read your first comment wrong! :D Interesting that they used an MT for a class change system; that's the first I've heard of an MT being used for a class change system.
***** And what i mean by a "versus video" is a tone comparison. Like the MT on High/Low versus the GOS on High/Low. Just wanted to make sure you understand what i mean by a "versus video."
It’s kinda weird that the Wheelock MT-24MCW has a March Time horn. I thought all Wheelock fire alarms only have Continuous, Slow March Time, and Code-3 horns.
0:24 some one is calling 1:58 sad fire alarm :( 2:54 HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO HI LO 0:46 BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
Because this alarm was designed before Code 3 was a standard, as with most of the other Multi-Tone devices I've featured on here. I'm sure it would have been different if these devices were released after Code 3 was a standard (such as the Commander 3). Now why they didn't make it a standard on this one considering this design is after 2002, I have no clue, probably because it was already grandfathered or something.

This horn could very well compete with the System Sensor MASS ADA.
My second favorite alarm! Sorry I havent uploaded fore alarm ids or elevator vids yet. I have an elevator vid coming up!
Bell and Hi-Lo are my favorites.

I have the white version of that MT that I got for Christmas.
I have a Wheelock MT-24-IS-CFW, which is the ceiling mount one.
My school has those weatherproof versions of those (outdoors) along with Truealerts(inside)

My High School Fire Alarm System has the Simplex TrueAlerts and the Wheelock MT-24MCWs
1:16 This is how the fire alarm at my school sounded like (different kind of alarm model though).
hi-lo is my favorite
March time on the MT is the best!
I like the bell and the March time horn
1:58 my fav
What do you think is louder? (MT, or UMMT)?
My school had MT horns on March time but they replaced them with speakers and I have 2 of the MTs
I just bought my MT yesterday!
in siren the horn goes crazy lol
does anyone know if these units wer/are available in the UK or outside the US?
This reminds me of the fire alarm at the airport in Baltimore
My school has MTs on Code 3.
My high school has the weatherproof version of this (MTWP) outdoors
My fav is March Time + its my schools tone
Is code-3 better or something? The schools seem to always have it.
It's just really popular
ironmatic 1 but my school has continuous

How do we so siren tone where do we locate the switches
www.manualslib.com/manual/526196/Wheelock-Mt-241575w.html?page=3#manual
How do you loop wire the horn and the strobe
It's haaaaard work there, buddy!
1:36 My favorite.
Love the march time
March time is pretty cool, I would agree. It's surprising that it's still included on here.
Yh lol has a good beat
The Wheelock MT was the bell for the for my ES
Goldenrod636 Interesting to hear about a system that used the "bell" setting. Usually, everything is set to the default "horn" setting.
But it wasn't in the system. It was the bell change system. So I think it was hidden somewhere in the rafters so it could reverberate throughout the school. We did have a Wheelock AS in the multipurpose room though.
I read your first comment wrong! :D
Interesting that they used an MT for a class change system; that's the first I've heard of an MT being used for a class change system.
Well at least the tones. I'm not sure where the MT was or if we even had one somewhere. I never saw the clock panel either.
Were they horn only units?
can an AS make the bell code like on 0:24?
Sadly, no. The AS can only do the horn tone.
pity
1:06 sounds like a wheelock AS
They have the same horn.
You should do a Wheelock MT-24MCW vs Gentex GOS video.
Brenden White I'll keep it in mind for a future video. Thanks for the suggestion!
***** And what i mean by a "versus video" is a tone comparison. Like the MT on High/Low versus the GOS on High/Low. Just wanted to make sure you understand what i mean by a "versus video."
I like bell, march time horn, and tone
+Anthony Cammarata The bell is neat, along with tone. It is interesting to see a device produce March Time as well.
It’s kinda weird that the Wheelock MT-24MCW has a March Time horn. I thought all Wheelock fire alarms only have Continuous, Slow March Time, and Code-3 horns.
I did too. And now that i know a tone is the march time horn i am definitely putting it on that tone for my new years blast when i get my MT horn
The bell sounds exactly like the sound that the Wheelock telephone ringers make.
Im getting one of these and i was wondering, do i need ear protection?
Yep. For Bell I dont think so but its loud.
@@ThatOneExoRailfan i didnt end up getting it lol
Mine is VERY LOUD! but not on bell.
That’s my favorite fire alarm
Nice
I have a a wheel lock fire alarm in my school Cedar Road Elementary wheel lock fire alarm the Switcher called thefci
I have a wheel lock fire alarm located at Cedar Road Elementary it's tone3 code the fire switcher called thefci
Is it true that the slow whoop is that same one the MASS uses?
***** No. The slow whoop here is slightly different. The duration of the whoop itself is the same, however, there is a pause in between whoops here.
March time is my favorite
How much is a typical alarm?
Mine usually don't go over $20 total (including shipping). Sometimes I venture into the $30 range if it's a rare device.
$85
What combo is Bell?
Loud?
I prefer the slow whoop tone
All Wheelock fire alarms pretty much sound the same

WHY DID THEY PUT CONTINUOUS AS ITS DEFAULT TONE?!

@@NewEnglandElevators if I was Wheelock I would make the default tone Code 3 Tone.
Me nether
it almost made me go deaf.
it’s as loud as the advance
March time horn is very annoying
