That's one of the things I really love about this band. They fully commit themselves and they put 100% into every record they put out. And if by some chance they fall short in some people's eyes at least they know at the end of the day they did their very best.
I am not a huge fan of Phil X's compositions (Phil X and the Drills original work is not to my taste), but Good God he is such a joyful, talented guitarist. I have never seen anyone who enjoys performing more or anyone who puts a bigger smile on my face with their performance. What a breath of fresh air he is after decades of watching self destructive people in the music industry piss away their god given talent.

Keith Urban does consistently huge numbers but you wouldn't rate him if he played for him now would you!?? KU is actually an amazing guitarist BTW. But PX is getting some accolades and recognition from high profile guitarists even though he came to the high profile scene later in life and that says he could have been much much bigger than he is. So playing for a cream puff band like BJ is a waste of his talents BECAUSE BJ does not use his talents. And honestly, I've watched a couple of clips where it appears BJ shuts PX down as he is about to do some epic solo or something. BJ is scared of PX shining brighter than him....IMHO. Enjoy being a BJ fangirl Paul jovi....(no pun intended)

My point is that PX is a great player who had/has the potential to be in a situation that challenges and allows him to grow as a player. Bon Jovi is preschool for him. Also, as I guitar player I am a fanboy of Keith Urban. IMHO he would of excelled as a guitarist in any genre of he chose. When you notice the intricacies of his solos, his fills, his use of triads and all while he sings in tune - this is no easy feat. I also rate John Mayer pretty high as a player and prefer his music but KU is a better player than JM and PX is up there with the best.
