Fun fact type to siri has been available as an accessibility option for awhile

Yes, but since it was an accessibility feature, it was as full-featured and didn't allow easily moving between the two. They've definitely polished it up here with the Apple Intelligence release. Not to mention that double-tap will be able to let you talk directly to ChatGPT in getting questions answered.

@@AppleInsiderI’m hyped for the new Apple Int but @AOLEnby is right; I’ve had mine in type mode. And yes you can use the two. If you wanna type, you just hold the power button and type whatever you want. Hey Siri still works therefore if you don’t wanna type, you can just say Hey Siri and tell it whatever you want. Maybe you should look into it yourself? 😅

@@AppleInsiderthis is something they can definitely put on the older devices and they know it at least this feature with spiri. I think they are waiting to launch later down the line because AI will be released to all iPhone that can download 18 while the iPhone 16 may have more features with it

It used to be on older Siri but they removed it.

Siri went downhill pretty fast after that

Wouldn't it be quicker just to type into a Google instead of Siri save it telling you "here's something I found on the web" 🤷‍♂️

@@AppleInsider yes correct that's good if able yo a contextual ongoing discussion on a topic, which isn't the current case. Maybe in the Future? Typing out getting it to do something on the phone doesn't make much sense when already hands on.
