My life has fallen apart. I drink all my beer during deadtime. Segmented memory has changed my world. I must now come to terms with a sober existence. Could the designers of Keysight possibly include a software button with the sole intention of slowing down the analytic process and insert a temporary delay and label it " beer time". It would certainly restore the fun element in scoping forever. Thanks Erin for a very informative presentation !!
the segnmented acquire mode literally saved my ass in my internship!!!! such a life saver!!! I was cracking my brain to find a away to capture glitches that happen like once every 10mins..... so happy when I stumbled upon this mode!!!!
I dropped by after watching Dave Jones interview with John Kenny (Technology Manager) , its clear Keysight are leaders in instrumentation Innovation. I'm convinced by the time these scopes are officially decommissioned, the next Keysight wave of scopes will have levitation capabilities built into their ASIC Solutions.. :)
The more I watch this channel, the more I regret I bought a Rigol oscilloscope as my first scope. I am really very happy with it, and I think my scope can do a ton of things more then I am ever going to use, but this video deals with a problem I ran into. Even worst, some other video's did that too. For the same money I have spend I could have bought the InfiniiVision 3000T.... Such a pity.
Perhaps my question may sonud really stputid but is there a single occilloscope that acutally capable to be use perhaps from 15 Megahertz to somewhat around 24 Ghz? Why one have to buy 3 or 4 machines in order to get that full spectrum.???
Does the incoming signal need to be period for this mode to work? So, for example, do the “pulses” or “bursts” need to arrive at known intervals? Thanks again!
Is it fair to characterize Keysight’s segmented memory capability as a process wherein the scope analyzes incoming data, detects portions of the incoming time series that are some level above the (estimated) noise floor and then stores only the detected portions of the incoming data at high temporal resolution? Thank you!
Rohde & Schwarz require USD1k license to enable History and Segmented Mem. Does Keysight also require any license too for this? I'm looking at the DSOX1102G
Hi Keysight team. I am interested in the 3000T series oscilloscope. The user manual states that one can use a mouse and keyboard to control the scope. Is this done through the front USB? (i.e. a USB hub required). Also, will a pointer appear upon connecting the mouse? (as it is impossible to use with a mouse without having a pointer). Thanks in advance.
Great question! There are actually two USB host ports, one in front and one in back. Both can be used for a mouse and/or keyboard. And, if a mouse is detected, a windows-style mouse pointer will appear.
The lister shows up as a little drop-down tab on the top of the screen. To get sidebar table to show up, hit the little blue menu icon to the right of "summary," and you'll see a list of display options.
My Lecroy 9414 can do this! When I can power it on, which depends on whether something has broken on it recently, which happens, because it's a poor old thing. :( Atm I can't power it on.
Unfortunate terminology used regarding the dead-time for the example of time between the data packets, as it means and used for something totally different. But otherwise good short video.

Awesome video! Concise and very informative. Now I just need an oscilloscope...

Very good presented, Very good information on the subject.

Wonderful!

Nope! It can use any trigger mode on the scope. So, if you can trigger on it, you can use segmented memory.
Is it possible to capture live running traces an store it in MATLAB using this oscilloscope?
Excellent video !

It is not about noise floor, but when the scope triggers. There's a circular buffer that pulls in data, and the trigger tells it to save
This is a really great video!
Thanks for this amazing video again
Why would you need so much memory anyway? My Hameg HM 205 is rated 200 points/cm on the x-axis and 28 points/cm on the y-axis at and I love it!

The DSO versions of the 1000 X-Series come with segmented memory standard, but the EDU versions have it as a paid option.

Hi.
How to enable the table (on the side bar) and lister - InfiniiVision DSOX4034A ?
Thank you.

Nice I really did not know this! :DD

love it.
Just looking for new Oszilloskop
Just like tacos
Amazing, compact, efficient, and delicious.

Can you love this comment
Of course!
