Living in a teardrop camper (for the summer) I Day 1 of Our Summer Adventure
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 тра 2024
- This is it! Day one. The day we have been planning and waiting and hoping for! We moved into our teardrop camper for the summer. We will be living and working in our teardrop all summer long (Lord willing ;)) and today is day 1.
I wanted to document the day and bring you along as we embark on this huge adventure of living and working full time in a 4x9 teardrop camper.
I am sure there will be highs and lows but there will also be so many moments in between. As many of you know Feens was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma and an incidental find of a PPDH which does not allow me to treat his sarcoma without putting a higher risk on his life. This is our summer to make all the memories and moments and to give him the best life ever. Period.
I am so thankful for each on of you who follows along, leaves a kind comment, or subscribes. You are helping me make this dream come true!
Just found your channel Michele and it’s fantastic. I love your TC Teardrop, your enthusiasm is infectious. Keep it up. YOLO you only live once!
Awww welcome and thanks so much!! Amen to YOLO road life is wild!!
Can’t possibly get any better, camping out in the bush in an awesome camper, with your dog, enjoying a delicious meal then an early night. Thats the type of camping I do here in Australia. Love the video Michele.
It truly is the best! I bet camping in Australia is amazing!! Thanks for watching and the kind comment!
Awesome...
Thanks for bringing us along Michelle.
Well thanks for coming along!! I appreciate the support!
Super cool set up! Would it be weird for me to say that I really love that shirt? What a pretty color on you also! I'm endlessly looking for cozy shirts like that!
Not weird at all that is such a kind compliment thank you 🧡 It’s from Amazon! I’m a sucker for shirts like that too!
Day 1 of many! Great vlog.
Cheers to that! Thank you!!
Nice setup 😊 🥂
Thanks! It really works well for us!
Great energy! +1 sub.😀
Thank you so much!! That means a lot!!
Recommendation, tell us what ingredients you are adding as your making your dinner.
I can do that!
Happy trails! Beautiful setup! 😊
Thanks you so much!
lol, you say toe-may-toe and I say toe-mah-toe but we both say Gyro 😂😂. Enjoyed day 1, Feens is so cute with his sun toy 🐶❤️
There are just many words we all say so differently 🤣 The sun toy remains a fav even though it’s not longer yellow 🤷🏻♀️
New subscriber…Just catching up on ur channel, I’m a UA-camr here in AZ and i was trying to go to that expo but plans fell through 🤷
Anyways another great video 🤙
Welcome! Thanks for watching! The expo was crazy packed this year but always a fun time!
Looks like a great setup for roads trips adventures 😃
It really works so well for me!
@@MicheleShanklin I’m shopping around for a trailer now that’s how I found your channel. I’m hoping by end of summer to start hitting the road 😃
@@jbwesti that’s awesome! What are you looking at?
It’s been a wild first week but so far exceeding my wildest dreams and I’m so happy I took the leap!
@@MicheleShanklin I have a Subaru forester current looking a pop up tent trailer. I have looked at tear drops like a hiker trailer but I feel I might be to small. I work from home and I want to start out doing week to a couple week trips at first then hopefully move to full time 😃
@@jbwesti The hikers start at 850 if my memory serves me well. I looked at those too. My towing capacity is 1500 and my dry weight is 850 so fully loaded like I am now I’m easily 1250-1300. I’ll admit we struggled up on some of the long sustained passes but since I had a transmission cooler installed I wasn’t worried we were just SLOW. It’s all about what matters most to you. I really wanted hard sides and someplace we could hide from weather. So that’s why we ended up in a drop. You’ll find the right rig (and then immediately want others because it’s addicting 🤣)
I am loving that "sofa" you have on your porch. Can you link it? Or tell me what it is so I can google it. That would be perfect for us.
Of course! It’s from Kuma Outdoors and is called the buddy chair. You can find them on Amazon!
Great to see you and fenz back! Gyros are my all time favorite thing to eat and cook! Oh just a f.y.i you looked amazing in the orange top and curly hair at the beginning! ❤
Awww thanks so much! They were so good although I prefer Costco gyro meat….which is weirdly really good!
Motel 6 really does leave the light on for you lol
Best comment!!
Thought you would like it 😂
Bed bugs, waiting too
@@thomasuzarski7368 this one was nice and clean!
Hi! New subscriber! Can you share the link to your chair? I had one that I recently bought from REI and it broke after 2 weeks, it's for me and my puppers. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for subscribing! We appreciate the support!
It’s a Kuma Outdoors Buddy Chair www.kumaoutdoorgear.com/store/product/bear-buddy-double-chair-16/
Amazon often has them on sale! It’s super comfy!
What subaru are you pulling the camper with?
Hi I’m pulling with a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. My camper is really light at 850lbs dry.
@@MicheleShanklin Wow I have a crosstrek too! I didn't think it could pull anything. i'll have to look into this. it looks fun.
@@mariemorgan tow capacity is 1500 lbs and you have to have trailer brakes. I had an additional transmission cooler installed to help regulate temperatures in the mountains but it was super inexpensive!
How much does it weigh loaded? Crosstrek not struggling?
@@thomasuzarski7368 the drop it’s self should be around 1150 based on the weight of what’s attached and packed. I do also have my car loaded but since it’s just one human in it and a dog it’s probably not too far off from being like I had a few people in the car.
In Arizona it has zero issues and I have amazing gas mileage. We are just slow on the uphills of the Colorado passes so we take our time is all. I did install an aftermarket transmission cooler but otherwise it’s stock. Long sustained climbs are where we slow down. Short and steep I can handle easily.
Not camping at all …. Memorial weekend in USA … Is traditionally is a big holiday camping weekend….
It very much is a huge camping weekend! I call what I do glamping 🤣 It’s a little different when you live in something for a summer. Gotta have some comfort….ok a lot of comfort.
sick lets get it!
Thanks!!
