    Really nice, my backyard slopes are so bad, so irritating. I may have to use stone as I worry about all of our rain and we would have to do a few of these to get a normal looking backyard. Ty for this great vid.

      @TheHandyCreators  3 місяці тому

      Thank you so much, we truly appreciate it! Honestly, we had a similar issue in our backyard and this same concept helped. The stone would definitely be a great option for the rain, we wish you the best of luck with your project 😊

    Love this!! What would you recommend to level a spot in the yard without a retaining wall? I would like to add a shed to my backyard but I know I need to level the ground first and then build a foundation for the shed. If you did a video on building a shed foundation that would be awesome!!

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you so much! For a shed foundation would be a similar process, only if you wanted to hide the retaining wall a little bit more you can keep digging and hide it underground. The key is to pick the highest point of the area you are trying to level and go from there

    I need some of this energy in my home improvement projects. Woo! I'm working on improvements in my yard finally and I'm excited and overwhelmed. There's just enough of a slope that if we put chairs around the firepit you always feel like you're about to tip over. (And that's BEFORE the wine or margaritas have made their appearance! hahaha.) I'll have to watch this video a couple more times and attempt to get us at least a section of flat area to work on. You do make it look do-able. Fingers crossed!

    Hi guys very nice and informative video so great job on that. I’m trying to level just enough space for a 12ft trampoline on my side yard that’s a hill like slope. I don’t need to do the whole side but just a big enough ares for that. If my trampoline is 120"L x 120"W x 95"H would I need wood pieces? if so how big? Do I want the wood to be the same length as my trampolines L&W? This would initially be my first DIY job and need help with materials to buy & measurements for my wood if needed.

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  3 місяці тому

      Thank you so much for asking us for the guidance, we truly appreciate it! Our advice is to level the slope of the area using wood that is longer and wider than your trampoline. We like to error on the side of caution and give ourselves some wiggle room.

    I really enjoy your videos. Could you recommens a tool to cut down about 4-6 inches of my lawn? I have a long and narrow (35ftx19'6) gently sloping yard. Rather than raise the back I thought lowering the last 12 feet by 6 inches ( grade and put in stone for the base and to support where i cut down would create some dimesion. I would put my gazebo and fire pit there. I keep getting told I need to hire "a man" to do it. Is there a tool that can cut into compacted and likely stony ground? (Ontario, Canada)? thank you

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  5 місяців тому

      Honestly, we have not heard of a tool that can do that. Usually what we do when leveling ground is just shoveling the excess dirt and then stomp it using a tamper. If you are able to find a tool that does that, please let us know! We would love to know for the future. 🙏🏻

    Very beautiful job! I love the natural mulch look ❤️
    IMO and since I'm fixing other things around the house first , it seems expensive and unnecessary. Is there something wrong with having a sloped yard that I may have yet to discover? Or did the customer just want something aesthetically pleasing to them?

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  3 місяці тому

      Thank you for the kind of words! The client wanted this done because they were going to add a fire pit and seating area, therefore, needing a straight backyard.
      In our opinion, unless you absolutely want to get rid of a slope or are going to be building something on top of it, it is not necessary

  • @nacquatabryson8365

    Will this work for a heavier material like rock, sand or gravel. It looks easy but I didn’t necessarily like the mulch look. I want to be able to sit in our slopped spot. Use it as a patio.

    • @TheHandyCreators
      @TheHandyCreators  3 місяці тому

      Yes, it should work with a heavier material, but the area will need more support to withstand the weight. We did something similar to level our backyard when we built our backyard seating area, and it has held up beautifully

      Some county have laws about bamboo being evasive and that the property owners has to contain it on your own property or you will be liable for removal on another property and on HOA common grounds. Bottom line is the owner of the bamboo has to keep it contained on his property and not let it spread to other areas.

      A “genuine question” would be one that contributes to the topic of the video, not one to categorize someone simply because of how they look or speak. If you look at our channel, the first words are “husband and wife”, therefore, asking such questions are of no importance and do not belong on this channel.
