I've thought about it a lot. So here's my go at it : SmackDown 1000. Kingston is defending against Lesnar. No winner because of Cain Velasquez (also, Kofi takes that immediate F5 but kicks out). The real match happens at Hell in a Cell with a Lesnar victory. But not a normal one. Kingston kicks out of 2 F5s before Brock brings the Brock Lock back to hurt Kofi's knee. The match ends with an F5 over the top rope (like the one Lesnar did to eliminate Kofi from the Rumble). The landing hurts Kofi who loses by technicality and disappear for a time. During this time, Brock beats Velasquez in Saudi Arabia and Mysterio at Survivor Series. Kofi Kingston returns at the Rumble, and is the one hitting that lowblow before Drew's claymore elimination of Lesnar. Kofi Kingston does not win the Rumble, but gets a re-match at Elimination Chamber. Obvs, Lesnar wins (after a REAL match and - I want to see this - a Boom Drop from the top rope, through the announce table. At Super ShowDown, Goldberg defeats Firefly FunHouse Bray Wyatt. Not the MOTHERFUCKING FIEND !!! For WrestleMania, WWE annouced Goldberg vs. Reigns, but Roman ain't working the show, so WWE names Kofi Kingston to replace him (because, with this booking, he's still a top main eventer comes WrestleMania). Kofi, refuses. And offers the opportunity to Big E (who still have to win a Battle Royal, which he does). At Mania, Big E runs through Goldberg and is Universal champions. Then you can have him fight Strowman for a while, before Big E vs. Kingston at SummerSlam (face vs. face, no turn) with a Big E victory. Then Roman's heel turn and he takes the title from Big E. During Big E's world title run, Kofi is going after the IC title, which he ends up winning at Payback (same day Big E loses the belt to Roman). So to this day, we would have the same Universal title scene (Reigns vs. Uso), Kofi in the IC title scene with Styles/Zayn/Hardy (before the draft) and Big E trying to get a shot at Reigns (and never quite succeeding)
