Even if I am sorry u met the Classic rude idiot at the beginng, dont take that idiot as the rapresentation of how italians are, we are not like that 💪😂😁
Obviously the US is huge and there's a lot to see there but it's so crazy to me that so many Americans never leave, even just to Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean
Oh you make me so excited to get back to Europe. My husband and I took our first trip to Europe when we were about your age - we are in our 70s and have been married 52 years and have returned to Europe 10 times. Those trip are some of the best times we have had together. We hope you have as much fun in your travels through life as we have!
How did Rome get split in two? With a pair of Caesars (kind of like your day, started off not well but ended up being a fun day!) You guys are awesome!
Thank you! The people in Rome are so nice! We even made friends with the barista at the Illy Espressamente by Hotel Nazionale Rome and she was the one that gave us a bunch of free macarons.
If you ever come to Italy again, I recommended you to visit some other cities, like Milan or Florence, Venice, Bologna, Pisa, Positano (Amalfi coast), Alberobello or Assisi… there are so many more places that are worth visiting 💖🥰🙌🏻 Hugs from Italy 🇮🇹
That is sooooo cool that y’all got recognized in another country!! Just shows you that you guys are so awesome, that people watch you from all over the world.
“They put cheese in cannolis?” just killed me as an Italian 😂 that is Ricotta, which is actually pretty used in sweets, and that’s the original recipe of the Sicilian Cannolo 😊 So sorry for that idiot policeman 🤦🏻♀️
If you guys can go to Capri, I promise you won't regret making the time. Also, if you go you have to make it up to Ravello. It is the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Have a great trip!
We had the same experience on the tram in Rome. It was very upsetting. Now we get taxi's when we go. It's a shame as the rest of the city and it's people are incredible.
A heartly welcome to Europe! Many greetings from germany, you are the best. Thanks for your visit. Keep your good work going. If you have time, spend a few days in Germany.
I've been to italy twice and it's very beautiful there, but we also had some bad experiences there. We got a huge fine on an otostrade because it was very different from what we know in our country so we made a few mistakes. I noticed in general that in italy they take advantage of tourists very often and over charge on things so be careful with everything you pay for and have fun!
@@MattandAbby One more thing. Italians tend to be proud of their culture. Careful over there. Had a wonderful Rome. Try their pizza. They had the best in the World. I recommend you to visit their beaches Watching from 🇫🇷🇩🇪

I’m just sitting here reminiscing when I flew into Rome in 2019…..glad you enjoyed visiting! Unfortunately, if you come across an Italian and they just “feel” like giving someone a hard time, they will. Most of the time, though, everyone is super nice; especially if they feel like you’re making an effort to speak the language/understand them. They appreciate that.
The exact same thing happened to us when we went to Italy on public transport! Everyone else was lovely! Such a kind country! Also come to London UK too!!
Glad to see, the day turned out the way it did. And it's really refreshing to see you SO happy! Thank you, for the LOVE you're spilling all over the world :)

I’m so glad you uploaded rn! I have not been feeling good and had to stay home from school today! Hope you enjoyed your trip and loved the background music!!!
I am sorry that you got fined. The thing is that in Italy those controllers that you encountered don’t get on on every bus pr tram. There are lot’s of people who just use public transportation and don’t pay because they don’t validate the ticket. So you were definitely not fined because you were a tourist. There are random controls and they give the person a high ticket so you don’t “forget” to validate next time. I’ve been fined 2 times in Italy because I forgot to validate. It is what it is. It happens that if the controller is in a good day will just close an eye, but they don’t usually forgive anyone and rightfully so.
i love how their reaction is just so stereotypically american: they didnt inform themselves how the ticket system works and just "did it". then they get fined for not having a valid ticket, and of course they were the poor targeted americans who couldnt have possibly know anything since everything is in italian and theres totally not hundres of sites that explain all that shit to you in english - nono the kicker was them comparing a bus/tram system in italy to a train ticketing system in america and thinking its gonna be the same without any reading on their part.
Fun times! Traveling light is the way to go. 12 years ago (2009) my wife and I did a crazy tour of Great Britain and Europe-7 countries in all. We took only one backpack each. So much easier! I recommend it to anyone traveling overseas. To bad about the ticket confusion, but it happens. We had a ticket issue in the Netherlands. Our tickets were good for 24 or 48 hours but had been initially dated wrong making it look like they had expired. The ticket master (who was a nice lady) believed us and didn't kick us off the tram.
I come from Italy and I am just super excited that you guys are having a good time!! Of course, I’m sorry for the not too good welcoming you got, but I’m sure you’ll get use to everything soon and be able to enjoy this country, that I find amazing! ❤️✨
Lol I was SOOO paranoid about that when we hauled our luggage around the city. Luckily we didn’t have any issues tho. We also have a theft proof bag which makes us feel better :)
I doubt anyone will see this, but I've been watching a few of your videos and I'm blown away by how grounded you are. For 3.5M subs, I would think it's a leased Range Rover or Tesla (ugh), a McMansion, business/first class flights, and gaudy designer labels. So jaded by these other young people on YT who don't seem to know the value of $ and how hard some had to work to get there. You guys are on a great path and I wish nothing but wonderful things in your future! I'm honestly inspired.
Definitely. Luckily our day turned around quickly afterward. I think it’s good remember though that he’s just one bad apple and we were just unlucky to cross his path.

I’m so happy for you dudes! Looks like the best trip ever! Hope you both have a great trip and make lifelong memories! Take lots of pictures! Be safe! Much love from Tennessee dudes!
I lived in Italy for awhile and there is definitely some culture shock when you get there. I always tell people it’s not for the light hearted traveler and usually recommend going somewhere a little easier for a first overseas experience. You will definitely be targeted as Americans, watch out for people trying to ‘help you’ at the train station kiosks and stuff, they aren’t employees and aren’t there to help and will demand a tip for their ‘services’ afterwards. And be super careful with your money and important documents because pick pockets are super common, petty theft isn’t taken as seriously in Italy.
Enjoy the trip - You have obviously discovered the European standard is NOTHING like the American standard. Rooms and Elevators are much smaller. When you meet fellow tourists like those two young women, ask them for tips and advice to save you more headaches. Also, pickpockets are prevalent in Europe, hold everything close and be careful in crowds.
I went to Italy in December 2019, and it was absolutely beautiful!!! Speaking of engagements, my roommate ended up getting engaged in front of the Colosseum! Her boyfriend ( at the time) didn’t tell anyone that he was proposing to her. Thankfully, I thought about taking my phone out to get some pics when it was happening haha
i realized the banner at the end where you said to subscribe, it said 600K subscribers and I was like oh my gosh! they're almost at 700K. you guys are awesome and I hope and pray you have a wonderful vacation. God bless.
I am sorry about your experience with the tram to your hotel. Here in Europe you always have to validate your ticket right away, so people assume that you know. Sometimes they’re not very forgiving with tourists. However, in certain places in Europe i.e. France, Italy, you can fight your way out of things. It’s not like I’m the US where kindness goes a long way. Europe is the opposite, you need to fight for what you want, specifically in Italy, Spain, France, Greece, etc…
Disclaimer: I pronounced “Pantheon” wrong as well as “macaron” (and probably a lot of other words too lol). Just trying my best :) -Matt
