Asmodeus didn’t do that for Magnus’s sake, he did it for himself lol if Magnus had actually got ride of his memories he would no longer be in the vulnerable and heartbroken state, where asmodeus can now exploit 💩, he needs Magnus to be in this state or else he would never consider going back to him otherwise. As for Alec not really having any reaction, I think he just has a lot on his plate and he’s just throwing himself into work to not think about it because when Jace started to push he was like just go, if he let himself dwell on it, it’s gonna be over. As for Alec crying….Just wait 😬 so sorry…. But can I just say, your so lucky you can just watch these automatically, this is one of those shows I couldn’t wait to watch every week waiting to see how everything was gonna turn out. The next episode is the last one of season 3, supposed to be season Finale, so i ends on a Cliffhanger. where we should have gotten a Season 4 but Freeform robbed us of that, so there was a 2 hour ending to wrap up all the storylines, you’ll approve of the ending, it’s ends in White and Gold😜
I know it wasn't for Magnus, but I was so happy that he didn't let him, no matter the reason tbf. this man cannot just be getting rid of malec memories like that lol oh that's so interesting, okay, I thought that they reworked ep. 22 as the finale, but this makes a lot more sense 🤔
The flash back of them having a love lock made me cry so much 😢

Before I comment about this episode, I have to state that this is the last episode that the writers and showrunners didn't made any changes. When it was announced that Shadowhunters was going to be cancelled, they already filmed 3B, so they only had the opportunity to alter 3x20 and create 3x21 and 3x22.
1:57 LOL I relate! When I recall 3B, I mainly just remember about Malec and how heartbreaking their storyline is in 3x16 to 3x19.
4:28 I wish Alec could tell Magnus, but as stated in the last episode, if he does, the deal is off and Asmodeous would take back Magnus's magic and immortality
6:39 I have to point out that Magnus hates talking in Indonesian yet he does it for Alec, even when he doesn't need to 😊
16:42 yeah if I saw Alec breaking down, I would even be more sad. I think the reason why Alec didn't break down in this episode is because he is repressing every emotion and only focus on work. Also, I think the belief of Magnus being happy without him is what is keeping him going even though he is miserable. A thing I want to point is that around 4:51 when Alec walks into the Institute, it is morning and Jace & Izzy points out that Alec hasn't answered them for hours. The last time we saw Alec last episode, it was midnight. It probably means that Alec was walking for hours like Magnus in this episode, but we didn't see it

20:01 We only had 2 flashbacks in this episode. Both of those flashbacks had a theme in it which is longevity. Alec is talking about their love lasting forever and the idea of children and then you just see Magnus alone 😭 It reminds me of the 2B flashbacks where the theme was trust

SPOILERS
~ The last scene of 3x20 where Magnus saved the day was added due to the cancellation. They were planning to do that for season 4, but they added it to 3x20. The final scene for the original 3x20 was the Sizzy kiss and Izzy bursts in flames, but they moved that to 3x21. I don't know if the scene with Jonathan sending demons to Alicante is new or old, but I am guessing new because that scene costs a lot of money (the show began spending more money after it was canceled)
~ The scenes with Maryse giving Magnus the ring and Magnus banishing his father into limbo are new. We were supposed to have a long storyline with Asmodeus and Magnus working together and Alec bringing Magnus back in season 4. I don't know if the scene with Alec giving Maryse the ring is old or new, but I am guessing it is new.
~ The entire scene of saving Clary from Jonathan with Glorius is old. That was in the original episode.
~ There was supposed to be a scene with Luke and Maryse opening a bookshop together in 3x20 or 3x21, but they either cut it out (if it was an old scene) or they didn't had time to film it (if it was a new scene)
~ I don't know if this happens in this episode, but the scene where Luke is injected with Glorious is old. Luke's original storyline in season 4 was supposed to be him returning as a Shadowhunter and being in a relationship with Maryse
That is all I know. It has been a long time since I last seen 3x20, so I don't remember if there were new scenes for the other storylines

@@Andreahabla Yeah! A lot of people think that if Freeform didn't give the show those two episodes, then the show would have ended on a Malec cliffhanger, but that is not the case. According to some crew members, when they got back on set to create those 2 final episodes, they also begin reworking 3x20. The show would have ended on a Sizzy cliffhanger if they didn't had the opportunity to go back on set, according to Alberto.

I love how one part of the fandom is set on clace and the other on malec. Personally I’ve been a clace person since I read the books when I was younger, watching the show though, I understand why people would be more for malec. But Jace will always be my fav character.

Also your face when Magnus said "Aku Cinta Kamu"- I'm happy you remembered the book quote haha. So here are the book-to-screen facts: 1.) As I've mentioned previously, in the books, Jace got bonded with Jonathan, and Clary joined them, while the others looked for ways to separate them. Simon jokingly called Clary, Jonathan, and Jace team evil, while the others were team good. Clary, Jace, and Jonathan just kinda hung around night clubs and chilled, while team good summoned a greater demon, then summoned an angel. 2.) I mean, you know this, but in the books, Malec adopts two little boys, Rafael and Max Lightwood-Bane. A Shadowhunter and Warlock baby 3.) MY SWEET SWEET BOY JEM. In the books, he can't speak when he's a silent brother, but he does eventually regain the ability (and you'll find out why, once I tell you after the finale). Magnus also never asks for his memories of Alec to be taken away. But Jem's answer would have been the same regardless. He and Magnus are good friends, and he would never take away his memories. 4.) Team Evil got high from the same drug in the books, and honestly, I think it's interesting they kept that little detail in!

I need jace to keep pushing alec to talk because once he really thinks about it I don’t think alec can live without magnus like he said back in the season 2 I also hate that alec is just acting like he’s ok and magnus is having a breakdown like cmon writers what are you doing 🙄
this ep was the worst for me as a magnus stan, can we talk about the first flashback, how dare they play that song during it I was a puddle of tears like how do you expect me to watch that scene with that song and not cry. watching magnus’s heart break as he remembers some of his happiest moments with alec this ep was the worst, the second flashback and seeing malec with madzie is always so so cute and adorable and the fact they talked about being dads, something magnus has never done with anyone else oh my heart, the montage hurt so bad as well. I mean magnus is so heartbroken over alec he’s in so much pain he wants to forget him 😭😭 like he can’t live without alec. I also wish we could’ve gotten a season 4 to see more of magnus and brother jeremiah i hear they have alot of backstory.
I hate asmodeus so much he’s such a liar and totally manipulating magnus when magnus is so vulnerable, the only good thing hes done was stop magnus from erasing his memories and magnus having another breakdown I’m not here for this 😭

That now that Alec has said to Magnus that the spark he fell in love with is gone for good, those memories only work as a way to try to understand why Alec stayed only to ending breaking up with him, during that walk, Magnus possibly believes that everything that Alec said to him was a lie: the desire to form a family, their so-called eternal love-And that's why it hurts so bad :)
9:49 The change in Izzy's look as Simon talks is so sweet. It's like she's realizing at that moment how really deep her feelings are for him. I really love them with all my soul. And can we talk about how Izzy watched the movie just because Simon couldn't stop talking about it? They are couple goals even before being official 😭😭😭

Like at this point there were no more tears in my system, I was totally dried up and in pain and worried about the episodes left. Just remember that it's practically insinuated that Alec had a similar walk as Magnus all night before arriving at the Institute :)
One last thing before I go to sleep: "I'll be crying when they're reunited because they'll be. I do not know how, I do not know when, I do not know where, but they will be" That confidence is incredible

Jokes aside, that went on for much longer than I meant lol, that scene is genuinely so sad. Even though Magnus is getting comfort, we know it's not real and also just very bad in general o.o. It's like, you feel like you should be happy Magnus isn't alone but all you can feel is dread because you Know xd. Know with a capital K for dramatic effect lol. You know that Asmodeus is just manipulating him, and I think even Magnus knows it to an extent, he's just so heartbroken he doesn't care. He can't look beyond it. He's vulnerable, and Asmodeus knows that. Gotta give him props for having everything planned out. But I'm not actually going to because I hate him xd.
Also that hug 😭. It's slow but still seems so desperate :'((. Like I said, everything with it feels foreboding. It kind of reminds me of the hug at the end of 3x17, but it just feels so different. And that is such good execution, framing, directing, acting, whatever. They managed to make the vibes completely different and I LOVE that.
Anyway yeah it gives concern :')))).
Lastly for real about the episode lol, the acting is so good for the whole thing. Obviously Harry up top, and Matt too, but everyone. They're all just such amazing actors and I can't take it. And as I said, Harry specifically in this episode is just wow. The sadness and emptiness, and even a bit of anger (not really at Alec just in general) is so heartbreaking and so, so well done.
I love this episode so much, even though it absolutely destroys me lol. It's just so good xd. And once again, your reactions remain such moods lol. I'm so sorry (for everything) and also I agree with you so much xD. It all just hurts lol. And other stuff too obviously, but you know.
