    Hey guys. Some of you were wondering about the Intel Core i7-10750H Benchmarks: 1) I was told I can actually post results from the laptops I have here (I'm editting the MSI GF65 you see in the graph right now for those of you interested! :) ).. 2) Several Intel Core i7-10750H Laptops are actually already available in stores here in the Netherlands right now. I don't know at what level it went wrong, but I got a green light and apparently so did some stores.

    I didn't knew much about the G15 until now, thanks to your review. I'm looking to change my laptop in the near future and i'm looking at all the reviews about any laptop that has these new AMD CPUs. I like that this laptop has a great battery life and USB-C charge, the GPU is a good choice if you're not that much into gaming, but still wanna handle well. That screen though...but i'm waiting a review on a 240Hz panel review to see the actual RGB values (the colours on my actual laptop, which is an Asus...lol, are kind of faded and i don't like it, it's tiring for the eyes). Thank you again for your review, I've heard a rumor that Lenovo wants to put the new AMD Ryzen CPU on their legion laptops....waiting for your reviews. Take care!

    It's interesting that this deal with the soldered 8GB on the motherboard, runs for some time at Asus (various other Zephyrus models), but apart from single channel vs dual channel tests (8+8=16), I could not find anywhere on the net performance tests with 24GB (8+16). It would be interesting to test impact in games with the discrete GPU and the APU as well.

I'm considering selling my current laptop and buying the 240 hz version of the G15, and I was 1) wondering about upgradability especially since i have a 2 tb ssd I would like to put into it without wasting the 1 tb already inside (the 1tb option is the only one I found available), and 2) whether or not the 240 hz version is worth the money. @@jaydhillon4960 It'll be interesting to see if that holds true. I suppose the biggest issue is temperature. Unmodified, the CPU and GPU can get up to 95°C which is very hot. However, if you follow the many guides out there (r/Zephyrus G14 or G15 subreddit) you can disable boost to significantly reduce temps. For comparison, I run Warthunder on max settings on my RTX 2060 version at 120fps and temps do not exceed 75°C so I'm very happy. Borderlands 3 runs at around 80fps on ultra settings.
      Battery life wise, my wear rate is at 7-8%. I understand that battery wear increases quite quickly early on but then stabilises. I've configured battery to charge to 60% only to increase lifespan of battery by not continually charging and depleting.

    Something you missed is that this laptop has Adaptive Sync (both FreeSync and G-sync)! It's a big deal and is what really enticed me as it makes my competitive game-play very smooth. Even the razer blade 2019 I bought last year and ended up selling, lacked this feature and that was $1000 dollars more. Hard to find adaptive sync laptops that aren't a brick and pack a 120+hz screen and decent gaming power. I did end up buying this laptop on newegg and am for the most part happy with this laptop beside a few flaws I've found all of which covered in this video.

    This was a perfect review. Thank you so much. I’m considering this laptop (spec’d the exact same) or a P1 Gen 3. I’m now leaning towards the thinkpad because of the single ram slot, lack of camera, less color accurate display, high temps, and slightly less ram, even if it is around $150 dollars cheaper. What are your thoughts on the P1 Gen 3?

    • @TechTesters

    • @connorburke5761
      @connorburke5761 3 роки тому

      @@TechTesters The Thinkpad's primary use is for workstation things such as Solidworks or other similar applications. This means that the P1 Gen 3 has a Quadro GPU. I currently am looking at one with an i7-10750h, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, Quadro T1000 Max-Q (about the same performance as a GTX 1650), and a 1080p 60hz display that is pretty bright and color accurate. I've done a little bit more research since posting that comment, and it seems to me that a P1 Gen 3 will stay just a few degrees cooler, but the AMD performance and a GTX 1660 TI is a very tempting offer (at a lower price, too). The only drawbacks that I see to the Zephyrus is heat, lack of webcam, and single ram slot, which means that the maximum possible ram is 24gb running in single-channel mode (assuming I understood everything correctly). What are your thoughts on the matter, if any?

I had no problem playing Hitman 2 on the highest settings and the processor blazes through games like football manager all countries loaded (most are view only) and total war games. I checked the temp on Armoury crate at times and the highest temps I saw were between 85-87c. The fans are loud and ran around 45db max. Overall I love it but have to caveat I also have a MacBook and really only use the Asus for gaming. Minor correction at around the 3:00 mark: Zephyrus laptops are actually metal. I don't know if they keyboard deck is covered in thick paint or if it's just a plastic shell, but if you open the laptop and peak underneath near the battery and trackpad area, you can see it's made of a magnesium unibody.

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  4 роки тому

      There's definitely metal in the chassis, but the final feel (whether due to an extra layer, or the paint) remains plastic-y. Not sure how much it matters in the end, but it does become a bit complicated to talk about :D

    I would get a Bravo IF the screen improves for a productivity device. Mainly music production. My current laptop is a Whiskey Lake quad core i5 that runs well enough (I tested it in Cinebench). But for heavier tasks, I wouldn't mind having the power of that Ryzen.

    Whats was the SSD drive in there? The previous version had an Intel 660p SSD and it's performance was terrible in Windows 10 unless you turned off System Protection. I'm not a fan of any gaming laptop having soldered in RAM. 16 GB is the minimum for today, but in the future, I can see 32 GB being more ideal, plus I like to get a good combination of speed with the lowest CAS latency possible. Were you able to see the CAS Latency of the soldered RAM?

    I like the form factor, better color accurate 240Hz display and upgradability of the G15.
