Your content is great my man. If I watched stuff like this when I was learning to play in High School (1996-2000) it would have helped so much. I didn’t have money for lessons so just spent a lot of time on the court trying to figure out how to get better. There is such a “paywall” in tennis in my experience, if the ATP wants more kids playing the sport they should support people like you making content that is freely accessible and doesn’t require a membership to a club, expensive private lessons, and knowing the right people. Hoping you can find a way to thrive in this climate as it sounds like financially the tour is unrealistic long term. I’m a fan, wish you the best and looking forward to more of your work.
Hi Karue, I've been playing tennis since I was 10 (now I'm 38). I have never seen anyone break down the complexities of the strokes and tactics in such a simple and digestible format. You and Mouratoglou are the rock stars of tennis internet coaching. Much respect for the work you do, and my backhand has gotten so much cleaner as a result of watching you and practice.
Amen. Coming up with over the top terms and explanations like they are explaining quantum physics. I think Top Tennis Training guys are good but they are definitely in this category as well and along with a bunch of unqualified coaches. Same goes for coaches on instagram
This has been a real eye opener & really good advice. “Your norm/groove” vs shots & easy balls that are not aligned with it & how to deal with them is basically everything in tennis. This explains why great players can lose to pushers that hit lousy shots all the time. I recently lost to someone claiming to be 3.5-4.0 competitive, while I am 4.0 or very close to being one overall. Turns out he was just someone that was fast and hits like a 3.0. I ended up hitting his bad & randomly placed shots that ended up everywhere, out, but this also has to do with night fall coming + the moisture in the air that came with it. The results of that + his awkward shots = my shots kept going out. If I had just kept the ball more neutral instead of playing my game in an uncomfortable territory, make him try to win it instead, I wouldn’t have lost.
6:42, instant classic. Karue, I was laughing so hard I basically missed the rest of the video. This was some unedited magic right there. Cheers and thanks for yet another great video!
Commentary during match play or point play is honestly some of the most useful thing imo. And something that I don't see very much of on YT, at least from respectable sources such as yourself. Thank you for the great content! Subscribed ;)
Really useful. Thank you. I just had the herky jerky experience that you mentioned during the match. I played well in practice and also the match but I just couldn’t adjust well enough to the other player’s slicing, dicing and excellent placement. It’s really good advice and hopefully with practice I’ll find ways to deal with it.
Good tip about 'manage' and 'attack'. I've heard this before but totally forgot it. Watching you make me realize that I don't have any 'weapons' like your deep ball cross court and backhand down the line. I'll practice some 'weapons' so I can apply your tactics. Thanks. Subscribed.
Great series, Karue! We have been upping our live feed and point play drills in practice and it is amazing to see the increase in improvement compared to balls being fed. Don't get me wrong they have their place, but we are probably more like 80/20 now during our practices. Thanks again!
That’s great to hear. Absolutely, you have to play a lot of points. Whenever match play can be incorporated into practice in ways to work on certain strokes or tactics, that's the best way to train
Thinking about combo is so important. Even strong amateur do the mistake after hitting a very great shot they "stop playing" and then they arrive late to an "easy" or "weak" ball, and end up losing a point they "shouldn't lose" and from that point it gets in their head and it's all going down from there.
I’ve been watching loads of videos from you and I learned certain types of balls which I need to hit to make the ball in to keep my pace or make a point to win. I’ll keep learning. Thank you for the videos.
Great Content. It looks like you're playing on all my neighborhood courts. I would not be surprised if that motorcycle was a buddy of mine leaving the court.
Very useful advice to keep the feet moving and aim for big targets while still keeping opponent on the run. Also plan to mix my practice sessions up more to simulate match play
Great video. Really helpful. my biggest improvement has come from playing more forehands and hitting most of them cross-court. it keeps me in the points longer. Still hit the backhand a lot but using the forehand seems to raise my percentage of winning points. Have worked on my footwork to get around the ball and from a losing record have moved to a winning record without hitting any extra balls in practice.
It's fun to see a familiar face on UA-cam. I watched you play Holt in the Santa Maria Open year. Helpful video. I continually go for too much! I need need to hit more often down the middle. "Staying Nuetral"
I greatly improved when I became cognizant of my net clearance, and began taking aggressive swings at conservative targets......When you are fit.....You have options
You must be loving that new Head boom Pro - a mixture of your two fave companies, head and yonex, even the shape looks like it was a by-product baby of the two !
This content is super helpful man! Always enjoying learning skills from watching your videos, appreciate it! Btw, i noticed you using the Boom racket. How do you feel about that racket?
hey mytennis hq!Tennis modern forehand (semi westen) Do most pros finish with the windshield wiper motion? What happens to the wrist and forearm during contact ? Does the forearm rotate?
down the line back hand was always my favourite shot as well. Even slice down the line is sweet. A dude i hit with a lot always complained i never hit him the same ball twice. So sometimes id hit 4 flat then 4 topspin and sometimes very random til he cried again lol. But now he is playing league and beating all his opponents. Its best to have a variety of shots snd feel out your opponent especially at lower levels sometimes spin and placement wins and theres no need for much risk
Good stuff Karue! When are you getting back to the tour? The channel is doing well! You could do videos from touring too ;) Too young and too good to be retired man!
Yea the first time where i played a 13 was when i got a taste of my own medicine and really had a lot more fun in tennis when you go through this phase of back and forth. it really fuels your drive to be better.
My uncle was the #1 player at Guam's Naval base in 1976. (That's what the plaque said). Sets are the only way to improve he said. So you can learn the deep neutral balls and make adjustments, not just hitting hard regardless. To this day I always play practice points to engage, prior to practive sets when I instruct. Kids who follow this, always make the high school teams in a competitive California district.
You ended up using survive, attack and neutral. I don't like neutral as a word, it's too passive, I prefer build. My default is I am looking to build the point with high % shots that incrementally push my opponent to uncomfortable places.

I didn’t even realize that was you in those college tennis videos! I always love rewatching all of those Matt Lin college tennis videos :)

Well explained. There are tooooo many "tennis coaches" on UA-cam over analyzing shots, tactics and techniques

Amazing video, really feel it will help me with my mindset on the court. I'm always getting thrown off by mishits, mine or my opponents.
Happy to help - keep up the good work!

I said it before, the live comments during the points really provide excellent insight into how to develop the points.
Doing a great Job Karue. You definitly bring it to the point. Slow swings helped me most ...
I absolutely love the way you deliver this great content. Keep on, that's great!
It is SO fascinating to know what you are thinking in matches, thank you for all of this! I love your videos, very super helpful.
Great video, Karue! Really shows how much tennis is a game of the unexpected, full of opportunities--both earned and missed.
Thanks!
Great video mate, really helpful and your calm delivery comes across well.
Not to endlessly repeat myself….but once again, another great video with a ton of great insight and useable material. I love the player’s perspective.

Great rallies!
Looks like it would be fun to spectate at this guy's matches
Modesty aside, I am really fun to watch hahah 🤷🏼♂️
I like the long sleeves you wear

Como sempre muito bom o video! Interessante que o Eubanks esta nas qualis dos grandes torneios. um abraço.
Valeu!
Really, really good stuff.
Please make some serve and serve tactics (choice of serve, serve+1, return+1) videos in the future. This is pure gold.
Thank you! And we’ll add that to our list

Thank you for the support!
It's Very Nice to get ALL this tips and hints from a former PRO PLAYER... tks

amazing video as always!
Thank you!
"combos" - my goodness, something so simple has opened the door for me mentally!
Will make a video on that in the future

Amazing 👍

Hey Karue! Are you thinking of going back to the pro circuit sometime? Would love to see you in challenger or ATP matches!
Financially very difficult to stay competitive. Not sure if I can do it all over again at my age
You could probably raise a ton of money using a gofundme campaign. Then do video stories about the entire experience
Great video
Thank you!
Is that a Prestige MP with a custom paint you use?
Nope. It is the head Boom
What style is the opponent in the red playing with? Looks like he has two backhands.
@mytennishq how long have you been working on your game?
You got this! .... I think that racket is too light for you. Waiting to see your review
