Amazing story I cried like I just lost him. My partner died during covid battling liver cirrhosis I was beside him, this movie made my wound fresh again. The same story of myself.
I hate to hear that. I know what you mean. I was just starting to really like and eventually love who I was with but he died just 4 months after we met. He really was a good guy and we talked about moving in together but we didn't get that far. No matter how long you have love in your life it's worth having
During covid, sadly I lost my fiancé of 15 years to cirrhosis of the liver, and he didn't even drink it was N.A.S.H. That and a combination of skin cancer that had spread to his brain 😭

As a gay man who lost his husband of 40 years, I can relate to this beautiful story. Thank you Jim for putting this on film. What WE go through is often hidden. I love you for being who you are and for taking the reins and showing our lives. You have made us very happy and have given us much hope for the younger generation.

♥️ in the scene in which they are both in the bed before kit dies reminded of me and my mom who died of cancer too. What we felt, losing a mother, might not be like losing a lover but the love and pain we felt were equally heartbreaking

"I'm scared that you'll break my heart eventually." This is called Anxious/Insecure Attachment. It stems from your trauma when you were a child trusting your parents of being there but then leaving & not coming back. In my case, an alcoholic father & a mother who had to "abandon" me to my grandma so she can work for money for me to go to school. A child and eventually an adult will have this anxiety of "I can't love too much because then they'd eventually leave me, which has happened too many times and I'm scared!" I have this but slowly breaking away from it through therapy. I hope therapy was accessible to everyone. I'm lucky enough that my company pays 70% of mine.

Kudos to you for seeking therapy and getting over it little by little, I too have a long way to go ( can't get therapy now , maybe after I'm done with studies/ get a job..)
Well. I'm already crying because 1) Jim Parsons and 2) Sally Field. This is one of those rare films I'll watch repeatedly, memorize every line, look, and dance move, and gracefully accept how, without having yet seen it, it has moved into a permanent place in my heart. Call The Academy now; there's no point making everyone wait.

I got to see an advance screening a few days ago. Loved it. I knew within the first 10 minutes I was going to love it. It's going to be one of my favorites of 2022. They gave out little promotional packets of tissues that said You might need these. Turns out I did, like trying to stifle back-of-the-throat sobs in a quiet theatre kind of ugly crying. A beautiful film.
I just finished this movie yesterday and still I can’t moved on to those scenes that I didn’t expected. This is a must watch movie, my tears was heavy after watching this. 😭

You had me at Sally Fields. And yes, I teared up during the trailer. This hits home for me on so many level. I know exactly how he feels because I share these same emotions. Been left three time before (each time without warning or any specific reason, except twice they found someone else, younger... This is a MUST SEE for December! Brilliant!

Not sure about this one. Parsons doesn’t stretch his acting chops very far. He’s still sort of Big Bang Theory. The story itself is just done now with two guys because this kind of story has been done before.
Jim Parsons is such a great actor. That line, "get my husband a bed" broke my heart just like it did in Terms of Endearment.

I don't know if they really get to represent themselves becuae I don't know their personalities but I think I need to remember people that sometimes being yourself in a movie doesn't means it have to be a romance movie, it can also be a comedy like ut was for Jim Carry and Ace Ventura or other movie where he was full crazy just to use an exemple. So you don't need a romance movie to be yourself you need to find your genre to be yourself

I just watched this film. All involved should be so proud of what they made. Even though you know going in how it ends, the ending is still heartbreaking (I wept like a baby). I love how they showed the relationship, warts and all and didn't sugar coat anything. Excellent performances from all the cast. It's still difficult to see Jim Parsons as anyone other then Sheldon, but boy of boy he accomplished it in this movie. Highly recommend.
Sally has a gay son, Sam Greisman. To me, what will make this so special is that she knows what it's like for gay men in America since she raised a fantastic gay man herself in real life. 🌈❤

The reason it's called "Spoiler Alert" is because the ending is known. The movie celebrates their love story. It's not about the destination but about the journey.
This movie BROKE me and I'm forever thankful. We don't see a lot of actual love representation in the gay community. As a fellow gay, I very much see myself in Jim Parsons character. I crave for a special someone like Kit (Ben Aldridge). Thank you all for such an emotional, yet need experience!

This movie is going to be great, though I also cannot recommend the book enough. Beautiful, gut-wrenching read. Definitely mentally prepare yourself before going into either. RIP Kit Cowan.

Jim Parsons really did a great job playing Sheldon. I'm really grateful for his performance as Sheldon. He and Amy are my 2 favorite characters from Big Bang Theory

Stop it I’m already crying 😭 I love Jim Parsons with all my heart 😭😍 AND SALLY! I will be rewatching this every year and sobbing the same way I do with About Time. It’s too good and too emotional for me to be able to see it more often but I will always go back to it

It's always amazing to see a comedian stepping out of their comfort zone and do some serious roles. It's perfect for then to flex their muscles a bit in being an actor. Jim Parsons was great in serious roles like Hidden Figures and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile so no doubt this dude is gonna knocked it outta the park

Imposible to compare. It is like comparing two random movies that are in the romance genre and that are made in the same year.

I just watched this movie, and it is genuinely one of the best romantic movies I have ever seen. Very good mix of comedy and drama and a balance of heavy and lighthearted moments. Highly reccomend.
The film left me longing for some really good writing, which unfortunately the film doesn't have. Many of the scenes, although beautifully acted, couldn't really hit the mark, given the quality of the dialogue. Would make for a great Hallmark Channel holiday offering. They tried really hard to make it feel real, and it shows.

I saw this trailer in the theatre yesterday. It might not be my cup, but it looks like it might be really good. I just hope the stink of the "Bros" failure doesn't keep people from giving this one a shot.

Gay people were not turning up enough in theatres to watch this film.
Many have lost loved ones to cancer, AIDS, etc. So the scenes depicting the doctor visits, chemo treatments, and suffering from side effects/disease hit a little too close to home for some, so they avoid seeing it until it's streamable. It's too much of a trigger for some.
This movie is not just for gay people.
