Nice powerful Miele handheld vacuum cleaner. I found one of this model series (S142 from 1999) at the curb for trash and repaired it. But mine is still “Made in Germany” and has the 950 watt USA Lamb motor with double turbine. Yours machine has the German Miele motor (from the Miele Motor factory in Euskirchen/Germany) with one fan, but the machine is assembled in China.
I have the 168S in white that I used about a dozen times or so. It has been hiding in the back of my coat closet all this time. My new pug puppy sheds more than anyone can imagine and thought that digging this bad boy out and letting it play, may reduce how much sweeping I have to do.
I came searching a how to video b/c I had forgotten all the features it had and could not remember how to change out the bag.

Miele certainly should have taken this design and did a facelift and update to make it cordless instead of the disaster that is the TriFlex.

I found one brand new in the box for $100 I use it with the power head only... it is a very amazing machine, one great addition to my vacuum collection... almost seems like it was technology given to us from a higher intellect.
I fucking love that old box design anything.
I have one of these in red and it has a floor head and a powerhead. Great machine for quick jobs or a small house.

I have a 168 and the last red one before they discontinued the series. I always thought Miele made a mistake discontinuing these, as they were really versatile, high-quality vacuums that could do anything a more expensive Miele could do if you optioned it appropriately. It's ironic that Miele had this practical design in production, knew it worked, but still chose to invest all the R and D into the ART instead of updating this machine, which was called the Universal Upright at the time, a pretty fitting name, IMO.
Alas, I suppose we have to make do with the SEBO Felix
