Stuff like this is always welcomed in any hobby really. I think that would be fantastic for those who want a central vacuum, but can't. If anything, this is the evolved form of a central vac as you can now move it lol. Definitely a fantastic idea and look as well. The real downside is the AMP draw. But other than that, definitely very cool and useful. Who knows? Maybe you can design and make your own vacuum one day lol. Maybe even through 3D printing or something
I have a miracle mate that the amtek 115923 crapped out so I put in domel 496.3.720 11 years ago and performs on the level of that tristar. did the switch upgrade and I upgrade to 12 awg cord as well to handle the power of that thing. Also I did the same thing to a proteam quartervac as well with amtek 122264-08. Never run those vacuum on 15 amp circuits. I always used dedicated 20 amps for those vacuums and used 12 awg wire on those vacuums anything less will make the wire get hot. Also the miracle mate platinum I grounded both motor and the body of the vacuum and the backpack vacuum just the motor. Both of my machines grounded 3 prong cords on them for saftey.
that's a pretty cool project, didn't know you could get that in-depth with vacuum upgrades. Weird question. I'm soon going to be moving into a dorm and am looking for a decent quality small vacuum cleaner. What would you recommend?
Here's a question, why can't one stick a central vacuum on a custom dolly and then plug the central vacuum in key locations with dedicated circuits? Only downside I can see is that the central vacuums could vent left over dust into the environment, and they might be a bit heavy for a two story house to carry up and down stairs. "963 Air Watts, 200.0 CFM ,137.0" Water Lift" - A dyson stick vac has around 115 air watt sucking power in comparison .
Damn you Zambrano’d. lol that’s too much power for my house lol. I wonder what’s the next down size motor? I have a late 70’s green Kenmore canister motor. It’s lots suction but I feel needs more airflow.
I had been wondering about doing something like this too for a few years. I had been wondering about how to modifiy an Electrolux CB into a "portable" central vacuum. The vacuum body is already a bit like a central vacuum. I've just been searching for what motor to use as I do have the abilties to build this setup. I just don't have room in my California Bay Area 1440 square foot 1960s rancher that my two car garage is my garage, laudry room, workshop and so forth. Plus I'd love to be able to use a machine of this nature to vacuum at my parents house and aunt's.
How about a step by step video of how this was done with a parts list. I would love to do something like this. I have a simplicity S24 with a bad wire in the hose and the part is no longer available. I'm actually in the process of putting two new motors and pressure pump in my Mytee carpet extractor, looks like the same basic motor.
Well that's on Patreon. But if you have a S24 you really should be replacing the whole machine at this point. Since the rest of the parts are no longer available something's bound to break soon.
@@PerformanceReviews Ok, thanks I'll look on the patreon. Yes the vacuum is old, but other than the wire being broken it' works fine. I've actually ran my own wire along the outside of the hose. This has worked fine the last couple of years, but the connections are work. It'll be in the trash soon.
The Vortech Hepa bag inside of the Cloth bag is similar to the Tristar. What would be the Motor model upgrade you would recommend to produce Maximum CFM performance on the Vortechs?
@@PerformanceReviews Removing that deflector and putting a Henry bag on there, plus using the synthetic disc filters from Glenn's Vac Shop does help a fair bit with filtration. But fair point on the maneuverability - that weird coily cord doesn't help at all.
I did something like this to my filter queen I didn't put in a motor as big as this but I put in a motor that's slightly larger than the one that was in there
Interesting, but not what i need, What im looking for is how to dismantle the hose at the end where it fits into the canister by the pigtail, does that end part come loose to replace just that part..my hose was rusted , then cut off, now i need a new part lr82648 is the # on that end.. Or do i need to replace the whole hose unit..
Does anyone know where I can find a Miele with a power head in Europe?? I recently moved back to Germany and intend to move to the UK soon and I have been spoiled by my Complete C3 Brilliance. I can only find the turbo nozzle options and that won’t do as I will be moving into a house with thick wall to wall carpets Edit: should have added I can’t afford to ship my c3 across the planet from Australia
@@PerformanceReviews ok thanks, I used to have a sebo D4 but found it too bulky for my liking. But if it’s the only option then I guess it will have to suffice 🥲
@@ryanhawkins1235 here in Europe only the D4 and E3 have the ET1 powerhead. the D4 is too bulky and the E3 is good but its quite hard to come by with the powerhead, and even then its not grunted that it will be in stock as most consumers don't understand the difference between a turbo and power head and why one costs double the other so stores don't restock the powerhead E3s often
@@ryanhawkins1235 I think I may just get the C3 125 edition and get the Miele turbo nozzle, its better than nothing and I have a sebo Felix in storage at my boyfriends place, so I might get the c3 with the turbo for daily cleans and use the Felix 1x a week. for reference the carpet upstairs in our new home is a setting 3 on sebos ET1 head and downstairs (fully hardwood floors) the air rugs are a setting 4 (hopes this makes sense as English is a second language for me) EDIT: I can't use the Felix every day as I am disabled due to having PoTS which is why I bought a canister. don't get me wrong the Felix was great, It always made the carpets super clean, but its just too strenuous for me
I would love to see you take a brand new Miele and put a central vacuum motor in it. Wrap it fully in sound deadening material too so it's nice and quiet. Yes, modding a brand-new Miele is kind of stupid but it's like mountain climbing. You climb mountains because you can.
Videos such as this make you a National Hero! You're awesome!

id love to make my own 3d printed vacuum one day with an ametek lamb 1800w motor

This is such a great idea I’d love to give one a try. I’d be curious to see this set up on a Henry because they’re already powerful.
@AwesomeVacuums A Henry with a Sebo power head? I like your your way of thinking! 😎
I installed a Ameteck 115923 motor in my machine and this motor gives plenty of air flow.
So cool! Reminds me of my 3d printed canister with a central vac motor, that thing rips
Try the Zero G nozzle! Has suction relief gate in front. Should handle the power.

Part in our on ebay and help someone else along
Would this motor fit in a Henry? Would the turbo nozzle work good on wall to wall with the high power?
What Central Vac motor would you recommend to custom fit into a Vortech canister? I have both the Older and the Newer Vortech Vacuum Models
I would not recommend that because the bag system is too restrictive.
Isn't the Bag set up on both Vortechs similar to the Tristar Vacuum you put the Central Motor into?
The Vortech Hepa bag inside of the Cloth bag is similar to the Tristar. What would be the Motor model upgrade you would recommend to produce Maximum CFM performance on the Vortechs?
The Proteam backpack Motor is rated at 148 CFM. What would out perform that to put inside of the Vortech Canister Vac ?
?
Definitely would be interesting! A similar mod to a Silver King would be cool too, though I would say that, wouldn't I?
The problem with the silver King is filtration and maneuverability.
We could fit far more interesting motors probably inside one. 😁

Not even close . 150 Airwatt chinesium vs 650 air AirWatt monster with one of the best cleaner heads ever designed on the end.
