Bill, hello from Missouri. I just bought a Homestead 55″ Root Grapple Pinnacle Series. Man does it make a difference. I live on hilly ground and used pallet forks for moving logs and had to strap the logs to the forks a lot of the time to keep them on. One of the things I learned before I got the grapple was from GP Outdoors channel was to put the loader in float when trying to pick things up and it makes a big difference when coming from the top to pick things up. I also learned yesterday that you can pick up piles of leaves with the grapple. My wife cleaned out a section of a ditch and I was able to pick most of the up. Enjoy your videos.
Hi from Wick in Scotland 🏴 new to the channel but love the videos full of information. Just got my self a john deere. So find all the information great. Thank you for spending time doing this.

@@billburkhart thanks for the encouragement. Hope you enjoyed your trip to wick its a wonderful place. I have the 3 series as bought a large plot of untreated land and intend to build my own home on it so the tractor going to get some use. I'll keep you updated.
@@billburkhart hi Bill well my new to me jihn deere 5055E has just been delivered, along with loader, fail mower, and tiller. Time to start learning hiw to work it all.
@@jonradband7912 Jon. Take your time on your new tractor….and if the short hair on your neck starts to tingle, stop doing what your doing. And, if you feel the tractor move adversely, reverse what ever you did to cause the reaction. Lots of good videos out there and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions you may have. Oh, be sure and read the tiller manual, the tiller has a height limit that it can be raised while running. I have a couple tiller videos. Good luck and stay in touch- Bill
Hi Bill, I too have a 4215 brush crusher. I have used it a lot and have found the teeth aren't as strong as i'd like...had to weld some support to them for rocks and other unforgiving items...works like a dream now...all the best from Ontario, Canada
Hi John, the enhancemnts I added to the Brush Crusher sure beefed that unit up. Glad you're enjoying your Brush Crusher. Hope you have a safe winter. Thanks for subscribing and stay in touch..... - Bill
Hi Andrew hope you enjoyed this video. I’m getting a video out about every 6 to 7 weeks now. I hope everything is well out in your neck of the woods take care and stay in touch.-Bill
Great video I love my brush crusher. Due to the mechanical functional of the grapple this is the best it can due. If I had front 3 rd function I would have purchased a hydraulic until but price wise the brush crusher was just right for me. I did the same type modification to-my unit. Great minds think alike. With the modifications my brush crusher never bent again . We already have got 10 inch of snow already. Have a nice day
Good morning Richard, hope you had a nice holiday. Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who bent the Crusher. The Crusher was a no brainer for me when I investigated the total cost to get a grapple. Stay safe and stay in touch. -Bill
That's meaty looking grapple Bill. Your brush crusher is nice, but the grapple has a lot more capabilities. I have dual rear remotes on my J.Deere. I liked how Mark plumbed into back remotes to operate the grapple. Thanks for the shout out, Bill.
Hi Dean, as always....good to hear from you. Yeah the hydraulic grapple has more capabilities at a price. Hoping to see those prices come down a bit by Spring. Take care and stay in touch. - Bill
I almost bought a JD 3032 e but felt the loader lift was too weak. This grapple is very nice. I bought a 5’ Titan. It works well. Thanks for the video friend.
Good morning Mark, I've been looking real hard at the 5' Titan, I like the aggressive ends they chose to put on the grapples front. I've read some criticism that the grapples hydraulic hoses are not installed in the best spot and have to be moved by the owner. Any experienec with that issue you can shine some light on? - Bill
@@billburkhart yes. When I purchased the Titan Grapple the Folks gave me a rubber tie down to tie them out of the way. Your comment is correct. The hoses seem to be long and could possibly cause trouble if you don’t tie them back. However I have used it many times by just moving them by hand in a safe position without ties and never had a problem. They do the job fine. I think most of them on the market are pretty solid. I paid at the time Two grand for mine. Good luck friend. Mark.
Hello from New Brunswick Canada! Your videos and really good! It seems that my most used attachment are the forks. And just like you I keep them on sometimes even if the grapple would do better. I got the AV Root Grapple from JD when purchasing my tractor. This tool is so useful. But I got concerned about damage to my front grill (etc), so I got the 511 guard.
Good morning Roger, glad to hear you enjoy the videos. I'll be sure and look at what Frontier offers for grappels over the winter. Thanks for letting us know where you're watching from. - Bill
Bill, it looks like you want a 3rd function valve system. A TRUE 3rd function allows you to lift & open at the same time. HOWEVER there are deverter valves that use hydraulic from a curl or lift function with an electronic button to control such grapple function.
Another great video. Thank you. On an unrelated note could you please tell me the overall width of your rear tires? I swapped mine out on my 2038 for radials which required new wheels too. I like them but the rear width seems less than it was before
Hi Mickey17. Outside to outside my rear tire width is about 59”. Keep in mind I have rear spacers. Without looking that up I believe it adds 4” overall. Does this answer your question? -Bill
@@billburkhart Yes it does. I was thinking mine was 54 or 55 before I changed the wheels and tires. It's now only 50" and it feels a little tippy in places I never noticed it before. I need some spacers for sure. Thank you very much for your help!
@@mickey17y I also filled my rear tires with beat juice too. Between the spacer and filled tires the tractor feel heavier and significantly less tippy. -Bill
Deere just introduced the MG20F mechanical grapple, and they have a nice video you can watch that demonstrates it. It operates identical to the Westendorf product, which I have. Your adds to the Brush Crusher should help its durability, which is good, but not ideal. The MG20F does a better job at reinforcement in design, and should be more durable and less prone to deformation than the Westendorf product. On your settings for your lower jaws, I think you should review the possibility to have it hang more vertical by adjusting your mounting bolts. You can have it more vertical than your current settings. The MG20F is not adjustable, and the bottom jaw hangs near vertical. Just some thoughts. Thanks for the video!
Interesting how you hooked up to the 4th and function. Kinda cool if you like moving knobs and levers... Which, is half the fun, right? Thanks for sharing, Bill.
Hi Ronnie, I have the lower jaw on my Brush Crusher as wide as it'll go. I like the BC, but wish that lower jaw could drop down and open wider. The design to be mechanical prevents it from opening any wider. It's a good impliment for me....for the original cost.....but could be better. Thanks for checking in. - Bill
great job Bill
