I had a prob to connect and here’s how I solved it: in localisation/Govee / position : must be at “always”, and exact position must be “on”.
You can turn it off after.
Interesting - thanks for sharing here! 👍
Thank you!!!!
Good video:) Question can I use that with my RV and my cell phone with providing internet with my cell phone ? I mean does it work with cell phone internet and no wi-fi router just like in a regular house. Thanks.
Thanks for the nice comment and ... sorry .. I've no clue about if it would work with a wifi hotspot from a phone, but I guess it will, at least as long as you provide real internet access
I can puke every time you say this is super easy. I have worked on this thing for 4 days, several hours a day and this is not working. I have contacted the Govee support and still working with them. Your video is much better than what comes with Govee or what they call "User Manual". Really, thank you. What I need is ideas how to troubleshoot this when this devise does not do the things you show. I have installed and deleted the app &$^%^ times, I have connected and disconnected to the router #$^* times (2.4Ghz). I have refreshed the screen @^* times. So, the bottom line is - if it works for anyone as you show - count your blessing!
Wow .... so sorry to hear .... sounds crazy, but I totally believe you because I've been in similar situations already. BTW my video is really genuine and fully honest. I would never do such a positive video about something which doesn't work and it's not a 'sponsored' video. I had to pay full price and if it didn't work for me, I've definitely told you in the video. Maybe there's a problem with the 'bridge' (base station)?
I couldn’t connect to wifi and tried 6 times. I have a dual 2.4 and 5 g, even if my wifi says 2.4. I’m so disappointed. Right now, its not connected to wifi. Thank you.
@@lorenzolr2074 Sorry again ... and I'm also using dual wifi with an eero and HAD no problems so far, but now switched from WOW to Frontier and go a new EERO. It's automatically configured with same SSID and password and all devices (about 25) in my home automatically reconnected to the new router, but not my Govee .... wow ... I'm shocked ... definitely not a good device :-(((
.... oh ... and I've tried to reconnect the gateway now to the new Eero, but the app always says that the app can't connect to the gateway. Now I have 1 gateway and 6 sensors which I can't use any more ... 🤬🤬🤬.
@@allcheckout Have you solved the issue?
The question does it send notifications when you are away from home to alert you I know on the settings there is function for home .away.disarmed
The app can send you notifications if you give authorization to the app and on top of that you can get e-mail notifications for free
How far away are your water detectors from the gateway and then also how far away is your gateway from your router? Are they all on the same floor in your house?
Officially they claim a wireless reach of "100 meters", but I have no experience with massive obstacles like concrete walls. All my 5 sensors are on the same floor with only drywalls in between. But maybe I could run a quick test for you .. hold on ... I've placed now one of the sensors outside of my home ... about 20 yards / meters from the wifi receiver behind the garage, so the signal has to cross one drywall and lots of stuff in the garage (lol) and the concrete blocks outside wall. It's an area where I usually don't get WiFi reception, but no problem for the Govee. I've refreshed the app and none of the sensors showed any connection problem. I think they are using 800mhz communication which can go much further than wifi. Hope it helps.
Same floor but some on the complete opposite of the house through many walls. My base is not centrally located.
An exact distance will depend on the building and obstacles.
My gateway is in the same room as Router and still goes offline everyday
it will send notification if phone connected to cellular data not WIFI?
Yes it will
If you have trouble finding the sensor in the app, try to unplug the hub and plug back in.
I'm now in the same situation and nothing works ... but thanks for trying to help
The Govee gateway goes offline everyday. I have TP link router. I have many different devices and no problems with other devices.
Oh wow ... yeah now mine is offline after switched the router about 2 years ago and never got it back online :-((
can you connect the water detector without the bub?
what's a bub?
@@allcheckout sorry. typo. HUB. I got my answer already. Thanks.
@@williamyeh6925 NP and I think it's not possible, but never tried
Limit is 10 sensors per base.
Thanks for the hint .... now all my sensors are all offline after switching to a new Wifi anyway ... hahaha .. and I can't reconnect them ... not even with the help of the support .. :-(((
Does the wifi have to be on?
Yes, you need a 24/7 working router
I gave up on this thing. It will not connect.
Weird - I never had any issues, but maybe depends on the router and phone ....
Mine goes offline all the time. I have many devices that have no problems connecting.
