LOL! at the 7:15 mark the animator Ollie Johnston says: "...trying all these things they shouldn't be, smoking marijuana and stuff..." Getting HIGH was a great way to watch Sleeping Beauty and still is!"
I loved that part also it made me laugh a lot. I think he was right in terms of at the time watching a disney fairy tale wouldn't have seemed like the vogue thing to do. But yes, some things seem corny and stale when watched stoned- but Disney films and getting high is a great combo.
Kind of ironic seeing as Disney has re-released Fantasia in 1969 with a marketing campaign that was in part an attempt to appeal to the hippie/stoner generation. Same deal with a 1970s Alice in Wonderland re-release.
