Tips from me: Check the radius in all view, basically 3D. because if not, it may look radiused from outside, but in inside, there are part of the gearbox that if we consider 3D direction of crack, it still needs to be radiused also. It may complicated, but typically, radiusing with 2mm diameter diamond file until it form 3/4 circle is sufficient. 1/2 or less is inadequate
It's not that it applies strictly to v2 gearboxes. Those are just the most prevalent model in most aegs. M4, mp5, scar, hk416 and 417, sr25 and m110, etc. It is a responsible practice for all gearbox versions. Even the brick lmg gearboxes. Despite their size, they are still made from the same pot metal that can fracture under the right pressure.
The rear corners can be radiused to reduce strain on those corners as well but the minimum requirement for gearbox shell longevity are the front corners touching the cylinder head.
As mentioned in the video, AEG gearboxes crack over time due to the force from the piston. All that tension is placed on the weak points where the cylinder sits. The hard corners are not designed to withstand the pressure. A curve displaces that pressure along the length of the curve and prevents cracking. So rounding off the corners guarantees the gearbox does not crack. TL;DR It's just a simple mod that saves you a lot of money in the long run. If you are opening the gearbox just take care of it.
Just a tad bit of advice, show off the before and after clearly to the camera. As a viewer, you basically cannot see what the finished look should appear as with the cylinder installed.

You are saying to make each radius 3/4 the depth of the diameter of the file? A '1.75mm dent'.
Love the editing and the music! Pls do more videos :3
Any thoughts for upgrading a krytac kriss vector?
is it necessary radius a v3 gearbox shell? i heard it only applies to v2

how bout the rear window. should it be radiused?

could you possibly tell me which file u were using like whats the diameter
I just use standard needle files you can get anywhere
Why exactly would someone want to do this? Just curious
