They exist, in most cases, to keep pressure up when your slow ass can't keep up, keep the stagger build up going, part breaks, ect. If your particularly skilled, they're also for shooting wingless monsters out of the air as they leap.

It doesn't even have a release quarter yet. 🤔 I was thinking of finally trying Frontier, but since it's locked behind the mega-cringe Discord gatekeepers, I'm just going to wait for it to be translated _for real,_ and released to the general public; I was playing through Portable 3rd again for RetroAchievements, and the amount of completely untouched dialogue in that translation... It really just breaks the immersion. Edit: Was hunting Nibelsnarf in MHGU while listening to the tirade, and it was very hit-or-miss: Localized names are obviously always best, time-wasting Monsters I still like, despite being annoying, I always stick close and play aggressive with Hunting Horn or Gunner weapons (Offensive Guard Heavy Bowgun is justice), and I already don't remember the rest. Frontier designs aren't canon in my head because they're such blatant copy-pastas of other Monsters, like how Lunagaron felt like a Tobi-Kadachi clone for like... ten Hunts. And yeah, farming Hyper Lavasioth solo in High Rank for the Pirate weapons (completionist) wasn't fun.
