ok so my theory for the weird eldritch horror scene at the end is that life and death (represented by pikmin bosses) are currently at war so most of the pikmin that die are now stuck in this limbo state (represented by them being ghost pikmin)
We’re getting closer to the climactic duel between the Mamuta and Smoky Progg, and the Pikmin Deities are decaying. All of this, plus the fact that most of the video the leader is not seen leads to the lore-wise explanation on how the Pikmin started to learn how to take care of themselves at different points of the series too. My only complaint? We never got the Pikmin 3 crew. Rock Pikmin POV would’ve been cool.

Almost every mention of them say something like "They catch 3 Pikmin at a time so a bit dangerous" and never mention the fact Pikmin have been impaled, and are still squirming and yelping while the spear is gorily ripping though their bones and organs. Then they get their innards sucked though the spear, visibly shrivelling until they vanish, and THEN, and only then, do they die. After several Pikmin being impaled, scraped to the tip of the needle, then all of them are sucked from the inside out. Why does barely anyone feel disturbed about this???
@@OculusLime - I run the games deathless for a reason. The Joustmites are part of that reason. Watching my Pikmin get stabbed and lifted up, only to get slurped into the ether is horrifying. I was already teary-eyed in this animation because of how well it captures the gut-wrenching visuals.

That fire effect on the blowhog looked super boss. Reminded me of the Tanker bug in Starship Troopers, which in turn makes me think of a Pikmin version of wisky outpost...

I cannot help but cry when any of the Pikmin die, but I'm fascinated by how beautifully you animate the backgrounds and the Pikmin working as hard as they can. All of the little carrots are so expressive in your style. 💞 I love how much storytelling and the experience of Pikmin 4 that you pack into such a short timeframe.

Like how you incorporate the Smokey Progg/Mamuta lore. My theory is that the Glow Pikmin, and Progg have a sort of cyclical relationship. As glow pikmin grow in number, their sap corrupts Mamuta eggs. A deformed Mamuta (Progg) then seeks out the nests of Glow Pikmin to cull their numbers in retaliation. If Glow Pikmin are the souls of Pikmin, then perhaps Mamuta serve to keep them grounded to prevent them from dying and becoming Glow Pikmin in an attempt to preserve their eggs. I don't know if you share the same theory, but it'd be fun to hear (or see) what you think!

mamuta and smoky progg specifically are often theorized to have connections to the pikmin/each other so thats why they were at the end
