some explanation for why he killed the lion, originally Godfrey was the warrior Hoarah Loux, he came to the lands between for no other reason than to fight and kill strong opponents, when he married Queen Marika and became the first Elden Lord he wanted to appear more kingly and dignified to his subjects as well as supress his violent side, Sarosh was bound to him to keep that violence in check and keep his natural battle lust under control, so when he gets to his second phase he is acknowledging the Tarnished as a worthy opponent and like in an anime "goes all out" or "uses 100% of his power", so he kills Sarosh and coats himself in its blood to become Hoarah Loux again

Lol, Connor is like me. Chokes, then gets impatient and just gets worse with every attempt... until finally getting our act together to win
it's brutal..I had him a pixel away from death on my 2nd attempt but then panicked and forgor to just chuck a knife at him or something. probably took like another hour and a half after that before I actually got him
@@SWMG57 i enjoyed fighting him so much that everytime he came close to dying, i'd let him kill me so i could fight him again with different weapons and strats.

I just realized Godfrey doesn't have a great rune because Marika divorced his ass before the shattering LMAO
Marika banished him and other potential tarnished warriors to keep them safe. So when the shattering happened, they can come back to the lands between and claim the Elden Ring. He is too much of a chad to get divorced 😂😂😂
She divorced his ass, kicked him out of the house, and decided to take the "selfcest" tag a bit too literally.

Godfrey, I mean GODFREY for my opinion is the greatest and the most badass "king" in the entire souls series. Compared to Nameless King or King Atlan, he is the real chad.
He’s a real lord as he respects the protagonist for reaching this point in the game, unlike Morgott who simply insults us in the exact same spot
If we to include Sekiro, than it Godfrey and Isshin for me. Both are great leaders with hidden isatiable lust for battle.

Godfrey is definitely up there, but the crown of greatest, for me, still belongs to the Burnt Ivory King
@@darakkuunobelu7584 not to mention both of them recognize wolf and the tarnished as worthy opponents. They dnt belittle you or are sore losers when they lose.
Neat little detail when in the cutscene
The little “golden trail” you see at certain graces that point you to the path to the next boss come off Godfrey
and they’re aimed at you
Nah, I think it was Morgott's guidance, it pointed to you because you were the one he had to defeat on his path to become a Lord. Godfrey probably doesn't even has a guidance anymore, he's already the Elden Lord
@@uninconnu5844 Radagon is the Elden Lord at this point, and in terms of status, Godfrey is a Tarnished just like us. The fact he's here at all means he had his grace restored, so it is his guidance of grace.
The funny thing is when you know about the lore of Godfrey, about how he has a giant lion Bonded to him to ‘lessen’ his strength.
It really puts into perspective just how far Godrich the grafted truly fell in his pursuit to match Godfrey.
I don't want to say it lessened his power. He can still split his arena in half with a volcanic fissure. It moreso dampens his bloodlust and makes him a lot more controlled.
I've literally never seen him do that leg sweep at 11:10
The comment on "imagine if I had beat him first try, you would have all said I lvl'd up to much" hits hard for me. As I had similar situation to Conner as u steamrolled the boss somehow first try and thought the dude was a pushover for awhile. Took till I fought him again in a new game that I realized I was just lucky, and now i like his character again.
I ruined the Margott fight by being so overlevelled so I just stopped levelling at 125 after capital. Only got to fight him for real in ng+ but it does work both ways and fights that were hard because I was being 1 or 2 hit and had the equivalent to a butter knife when hitting them were much easier than my death count suggested
That’s a problem with the games balancing, you don’t feel like you getting better at the fight, you just get lucky with attacks or just dodge the one shot ones. The damage scaling kinda sucks

Elden beast was a PAIN for me!!!
Conner is literally that one kid who plays fighting games. That memorized like one decent combo and nothing else. Spams it endlessly, but gets upset when it doesn't carry in every single fight.

To be fair, you don't have many options with greatswords, especially ultra greatswords.
Dex has bleed, Dex Faith has strong ashes of war, Intelligence has cheesy range, Strength has poise-breaking jump attacks. The facts are that literally, every build has an option which is more viable than the rest, and so not taking advantage of it would be stupid.
I mean it's the same thing when I pvp. People spam rob so I powerstance 2 collosal swords and put on my royal knights resolve and one shot them. There's no skill when it comes to weapon spam. Same with mages who spam stars of ruin. Literally 0 skill

Godfrey in my opinion was such a fun boss fight that I did not feel once irritated throughout the countless times I fought him, I couldn't help but find him as the perfect boss, no magic, no stupid long range, no bullshit, just you, him, the sunset, and the GrAvEl

Its the classic souls experience. After getting the boss to low hp first try, you become cocky, overconfident, careless, which is why your subsequent tries are usually worse
I think my favorite thing about Godfrey is that he is completely human. He's not a god, or a demigod. He is just a completely normal dude.
And yet he's in the running for one of the most physically powerful people in the entire game.

I can kind of see why Connor was only doing jump attacks, is because before the patches the collosal greatsword normal attacks have really wide openings leaving you open to enemy attack combos
There's no way in hell he didn't throw for content. He started dodging like 8x as much after he got the posture break.

I wish Serosh could've been a boss as well when he gets to second phase like the Lion manifests himself and his name could be:
Serosh, The Beast King
You get to fight the lion and once Serosh is on 0 HP, Godfrey now fuses himself with the lion so he can access the powers of it and amplify the magnitude of it and on the half health of Godfrey, now turns into Hoarah Loux and that's the end of the fight
@@venomark7883 He doesn't fuse with Serrosh though. He kills Serrosh. Serrosh is just there to hold him back.

It’s the only move that’s viable that does any kind of damage

Unfortunately, Jumps and crouch pokes are the only ways for UGSes to hit the endgame bosses except for the slow ones like Placidusax and Mohg

Feel like, in minute 5:18 he could have placed a well finishing blow instead of dodging.

@@kaidothedrunkardit’s literally not. Just figure out the gaps in strings dog. The attack immediately after the roll is way better than a jump attack because your I-frames are way better.

So I've seen a couple of videos of this guy playing...so is he just a really casual/bad player or something? He seems to have trouble with everything and gets really angry while doing little to no analyzing of the actual fights.
