I shipped Malina in the books because I hated how toxic the Darkling was but Mal in the book was annoying and bland compared to the show, so I support Malina even MORE now lol

I love how they hinted at Kaz's backstory with the touch aversion and the scene with Pekka Rollins. I can't wait to see how they'll incorporate that into the show!!!

Just an fyi, the length of their lives is dependant upon the strength of their power 💁❤ so it's natural to assume that because the Darkling is so powerful, he lives longer.

Same, I loved this show so much and I was just so happy I got to see my crow babies on screen and tbh I did started caring for Mal a bit too lol the thing is that this season is suppose to be like a sort of prequel for SoC so I’m curious about what they are gonna do next, given how it all ended and also the scenes we got of Nina and Matthias. I’m so excited either way and I cannot wait for what’s yet to come 🥺😭😊 now I’m gonna go watch the show for a second time lol

Lol when I first read the trilogy I shipped Malina so nothing’s really changed there. It was more so the story itself I wasn’t a huge fan of, but either way I know what you mean hahah

Im a Darklina but I found Mal actually likeable in the show but the countless of meadow scenes were tiring to watch as if one flashback wasn’t enough to show their connection. I really wanted Alina and Mal both to independent instead of having their whole worlds revolve around eachother, I was expecting some character development where she focuses more on her true self and isn’t constantly thinking of Mal. But anyways still a Darklina, Darklina served in the show and the angsty lovers to enemies to lovers

Such a Marina fan in the show, but in the books Mal is so boring and we never have any of his perspective in the first book so the Darkling seems like a tempting very wrong choice hehe :D
See, Mal's character seems MUCH more supportive in the show and he's the perfect guy for Alina on paper, but I still get 0 butterflies. 🥺😭 Whereas the Darkling is pure evil and commits genocide and multiple atrocities, but because he seemed nice originally, my heart got catfished and still likes him somehow. 😅 I can't wait for season 2, just finished the show with my family and I've been too hyper to go to bed and now it's 3:30 and I'm fangirling about the show and books lmao.

Hmm. Believe me, girl, not everybody is a malina. Actually, on Netflix twitter account Darklina's posts got more likes and on buzzfeed it got more votes. It's not a competition though and everybody is free to like they ship they want to like. I think it depends of the social network you're on. It's Malina on UA-cam and Darklina on Twitter.
Bravo to Netflix for making me like Alina. I hated her in the books.
Seeing little Alinla harming her self just to stay with mal was very triggering and him being happy when he find out it was very disturbing is that supposed to be romantic it's unhealthy and something that destroys peoples lives and are we going to just Pretend that Alina is not responsible for the death of her teem because of her obsession with mal there blood is on her hands and she only knowledge that when she is taking to the darkling and she is only Scared of being banished she doesn't feel eny guilt they are extremely codependent to the point that she has no care for other people's will being or her self and no independent in her on life she can't even access her own powers because of mal and only can when she let him go but that was a mistake and and she was rowng to do that and we go back to mal obsessed Alina is this what healthy relationship is supposed to be they don't even address it it's romanticized if you are romanticizing something you don't address it they are selling this is a epic love story that we are supposed to ship
No self-harm and harming others in the name of love it's toxic behavior and I'm not supporting that
Alina is not really obsessed with Mal. It's a pretty normal bond. Her cutting herself with the pottery to hide her powers is also not equivalent with normal self-harm. Sorry if it triggered you, but the two psychological states of someone engaging in dangerous/toxic self-harm and someone like Alina in this situation are not the same. It is not toxic behavior. Mal did not pressure her to do it, she did not do it to make Mal love her, nothing like that. It was her solution to the puzzle of how to keep the adults from separating them. She also did not intend to bring the other mapmakers into the fold, but if the same situation came up again now she would know better and she probably wouldn't do it again because that was not her intent. Not toxic behavior. There are other parts of the story that are more toxic, (and they are portrayed as negative), but this isn't it. If these situations trigger you then you don't need to watch it, but these things are still fine for others to watch.
