That's one of the special places you never get out of your head. I went there in the 80s and its fresh as a daisy in my 63 year old head I was really struck by the bowling ally and stage
I ve been to Lüderitz first time in 2006. That Was an amazing Trip. We Visited all the sites u have been as well. The ice Maschine was the first ice Maschine on the african Continent an was build by Linde. The Felsenkirches Window behind the Altar was sponsored by his majesty emperor Wilhelm II. Bucht means bay in german.......the most impressive site was the cross ...even To get there.oh and btw.....achte bay was nice to search 4 gemstones....cheers pat and keep goin
thanks Patrick. I guess you can see from the video that I was fascinated by the ice factory. To me it is amazing what these people, the germans, were able to accomplish in the middle of the desert so long ago. I guess many people dont realise where they did it or what the Namib desert is all about. Crazy that Linde made it, also saw some Siemens signs. The bridge to the cross was gone in 2006 already?
After watching this video, i can now see that its easier to visit Ludaritz actually..I can sleep in Keetmanshop, check out fish river canyon view point en route to Luderitz and sleep there for couple of days then return to south africa through the same route with my Hilux 4x2 D/C....This video is every informative and thanks alot for it

For me it was the ice factory the Germans were able to operate in the middle of the desert a 100 years ago
