  • Today we're looking at a heavily modified 1981 Jeep CJ7 our team at The Specialists delivered for a customer.
Featuring a completely custom audio system with custom-mounted speakers. It also received a modern suspension upgrade along with a running board from amp research custom-fitted to match the length of the vehicle.
Our team also created custom switch paneling to activate all of the vehicle's lighting that is easily accessible for the driver.

Hi Peter, the jeep looks fantastic, I am planning on restoring my own CJ7 this year, I am in Dublin Ireland , would it be possible to send me a list of parts you used on the suspension and stealing along with the contact info of the suppliers so I can order the same parts.
    Much appreciated
    Conor

Hello Sir, great build. I have a 85 CJ7 and would like to put e steps too. Can you send me info and pics of your setup for the e steps and brand you used? Thank you.

We started with an AMP Research kit for a 2 door Wrangler, all the mounting parts were custom made to fit the CJ.

Can you explain the mounting parts in detail? I just ordered the e step. Now if you can show me how you mounted it to, I'd forever be greatful. Thank you again!

@@Richyona way to many steps to list in detail, it’s a totally custom job. Basically we fabricated steel floor plates underneath each side that bolted through the floor and into the rocker behind the stainless trim. These plates had the mounting plates for the steps welded to them at the same angles that the modern Wrangler has. These floor plates were then powder coated and mounted up to the CJ allowing the Wrangler steps to mount right up.

This is just a FanDamnTastic build. No other way to put it. Peter..I'm wishing you were closer. It would be much easier to buy you a cup a coffee and talk about my 79 cj7. Been years since i was there stationed at DM.. I'll give you a call to chat if you're good with that. Jim

anyone making them brand new? like with modern engine and so on, just the body being CJ7

Not that I’m aware of but we could build one for you on a modern chassis, modern electronics, interior and source a CJ7 body. Sounds like a fun project!

      @@thespecialistscaraudiotucs5596how much would that cost?

    • @thespecialistscaraudiotucs5596

@@M81Daddy depends on which series of donor Jeep would be used, let’s say for instance someone liked the newest JL platform but wanted the CJ7 body, this would roughly be upwards of $150k for the complete project.

@@M81Daddy oh OK I misunderstood, if someone brought me a stock CJ7 And wanted it to be just like the one in the video not including the motor swap, which we did not do it would cost about 50 K

Why? Why yellow???? All that work will never be appreciated as it is smothered in yellow. You could have picked anything. Like, heavy metal flake root beer. Or a nice rich satin mango orange. Why not a candy red or even a deep deep plum crazy. But no. Yellow. Worst color for any vehicle.
