My wife and I were on vacation in Paris about ten years ago. We had a corner room on the upper floor of the Hotel Regina Louvre across from the Louvre Museum. We had decided to stay in one evening, so I went to a local shop and bought cheese, cold cuts, bread and some wine. We moved a tiny table out on the balcony to enjoy the food and the incredible view down the Rue De Rivoli. There was a radio in the room. I turned it on, and it was apparently tuned to a classic station. The first song that came on was this song by Edith Piaf. We realized it was a magical moment for us both, and something we will never forget. Thanks to Edith Piaf and Paris.
My mind was just blown. Marion Cotillard was in Inception as the protagonists wife, who haunts him. They used this song in Inception as a signal that they're waking soon.
Christopher Nolan almost took this song out of "Inception" after he cast Marion, but Hans Zimmer convinced him to keep it in. Probably because he based the entire score around this song...
