Applying moisturizer to wet skin has been a game changer! I'm ridiculously soft now.
When I do that it makes my face really dry. Idk if I’m doing something wrong
Why does my face get worst when it comes to dryness when I do this. I use cerave blue tub cream. I have very dry skin
Use a hydrating serum / lightweight gel cream before putting on the heavy moisturizer it boosts the moisturizer
@@stellaa5384 if your moisturizer does not has an oclusive it will not work out
@@stellaa5384 try it on damp skin, not wet and try a cream or balm instead of a lotion. This is what I had to do. Good luck
Dr. Dray: Sleep affects your skin tremendously
Me watching this video at 12:40 AM: 👁👄👁
Waking up five times wíth hot flashes for the last 3years. I get you😌😌
Me at 5 AM thinking if i should go to sleep 👁👄👁
same lmao
STOOOP!!! 🤣🤣🤣
To think that at one point I thought 12:40 was early 😳
I'm a biochemist and I googled her to see what her education was (out of curiosity and because I'm a higher education nerd, not because I doubt her at all!) and she got her medical degree at the same university where I'm employed as a researcher! Go CU!
She also has a PhD in biology.... you can read her pubs!
I trust your judgement, and learn! Thanks, Dr. Dray!
omggg i am planning to become a biochemist!!! Any tips? I am a senior in highschool and i’m planning to go to a university in fall of 2021 and major in biochemistry!!!
@@nimra7569 yay!!! biochemistry is awesome. The #1 thing that I hear recent biochem grads say they wish they would have known is to get lab experience while you're in college. It differs based on where you go, and the bigger your university, the more it's up to you to make sure you get lab experience. For your first 1-2 semesters, get good grades and show your professors your enthusiasm. Ask them about their research and make it clear you want to get hands-on lab experience. Even if your professors don't need any undergrads in their labs, they can help you find someone who does and put in a good word for you. Having lab experience where you learn skills and concepts like cloning, cell culture, PCR, immunoprecipitation, etc. will absolutely put you miles ahead of your peers when senior year comes and it's time to find a job or apply to grad school. A candidate with average grades and good lab experience will usually be preferred to a candidate with perfect grades and no lab experience (though grades are also important!).
The professional science world talks a lot about the importance of resilience, and I wish that we would talk to undergrads about resilience too. Research science is a game you can never win because the goalpost always moves away when you get close, and depending on your outlook, that can either cause burnout or it can excite you. Some days you'll feel really stressed about your classes and you might feel like you're never good enough in the lab, and it's really important that you learn how to keep your mindset constructive. The closer we look at biology, the more there is to look at, and that's absolutely magical. The best scientists are the best because even though they've failed a million times like everyone else, they're the ones who just kept getting back up over and over again and refused to be defeated. They know how to take care of themselves when they need a break and they know how to apply themselves when it's time to work. The thrill of science is in becoming one of the undefeatable few so you can help create a better future for the world.
When you're doing your best, you can recover from any slip-up. I literally failed a class once and I'm doing just fine because I was working hard and made it right. College and science are hard as heck and that's why they're so fun! You're in for a lifelong adventure. And if you couldn't tell from the sheer length of my comment, you'll always find scientists who would love nothing more than to talk to you about science, so ask your professors and their grad students/post-docs/techs about their work and career paths--it's a really good way to learn how to navigate from undergrad to whatever your goals may be, and you may even find a mentor in one of them.
@@sir9integra9jr OMGG thank you soo much for the reply!!!!!! I CANT wait to go to college and survive all the challenges without giving up!!! THANKS AGAIN! hope you and your loved ones stay safe during these times.
I’ve learned from dr dray that needn’t use soap on body except for 2 areas, fragrance free products are 💕. Don’t use feminine wash. Sunscreen shld be your best friend. Expensive isn’t better.
I have noticed using lactic acid feminine wash actually helped me. Used to always have infections before.
What lactic acid fem wash is good?
What do you use? I find all feminine washes to be irritating. Actually most everything I have tried does. Any suggestions?
@@pamelaparker7032 nooo dont use feminine washes, it messes up the ph of your v area
@@pamelaparker7032 In South Africa we have this soap called pur glycerin soap. That's what I use. It's fragrance free because fragrance doesn't belong down there
“I highly recommend it if you have lips” LOL
As soon as I heard she saying that, I scrolled straight down to the comments section to see if anyone mentioned it, lol. This lady is hilarious!!!!
Yes last time I checked I have lips. 😆😆😆😆😆😆

Brenda Ann I watch her videos and her Q&A on Instagram every morning. Very informative! And I like her unique sense of humor too!
Dr. Dray: *gets sunburned*

Your profile picture matches your comment lmao
It's like when the smartest student in class doesn't know the answer.
lol 😂😂😂😂
Anyone else feel like they have to take notes on her videos??? They’re so educational and I want to make sure I remember and retain this information!!
Yes!! I do!!
I took notes haha. I need to remember when I go shopping!
I've made a diary. Is that too much 😂
I do too
Ohhh I imagine prepping for my own podcast listening to her.
This is the real definition of *skin care*, not just the face, but the whole body. I appreciate it so much.
I LOVE that you genuinely use drugstore products often!!! many skincare youtubers recommend a bunch of drugstore products that they use once a month just because the viewers are asking for it, as if drugstore products were always a replacement for better products. your product recommendations are always so accessible! in my city we don't have a lot of drugstore brands but some of your recommendations even I can find 💜 thank you for being a real one
It’s funny but before Dr Dray, I wasted so much money on skincare from Sephora. Like one lotion or mask jar cost me $120. None of the “high end” skincare have worked miracles like drugstore skincare has like Cerave for my super oily/acne prone skin and even my fine lines.
Do you hear that rumbling? It’s the sound of the entire skincare community stampeding toward this video 😂
It's the sound of a certain youtuber obsessed with Dr Dray about to talk trash yet again smh
Andreea Stone who’s that?
It’s the sound of her skincare community stampeding to the store/amazon/iherb to purchase! 😹😻
Andreea Stone oooh! Who, who??

Aoife A thanks for the summary. Do you think that a tretinoin product can be applied each night?
why no cleansing in am
If i didn't cleanse in the AM I would have acne galore.
THANK YOU!
I love how she always explains the science behind everything. I like to know WHY exactly I’m putting all this stuff on my face :)
I love the fact she recommends regular store brand products which is reasonably price and yet effective. Enjoyed every video, very educative. Thankyou Dr. Ray
Dr. Dray is saving my skin one video at a time.
I can relate! She is so informative.

When you get a skincare regimen that Dr.Dray recommends for your skin, you will see how much money you save.
You won't have bottles and jars in the bathroom half empty, didn't work and others you just don't like.
I have followed her advice for my skin and it never looked better.
Kind regards from Ireland.

One of the things that I adore and respect you is that you don't do reaction to other people's skincare. You do you do and keeping it classy! Have a good Thursday y'all!! 💙
@Andrea Perea Have a good Thursday as well! :)
Agreed. Skincare reaction videos aren't necessarily bad. But some (won't name names) are so "judgy," it's annoying, lol.
@@devonajennings1838 You even have a better one😄👐💙
@@missmerbella true, like two or a year ago wasn't as bad as now. They just do it for more views, come as so judgey and acted like they got a PhD in it or studied it for gazillion years.
Andrea Perea I love how she just used pretty much all dermatologist recommended brands and kept it real. 😂
Ever since I discovered Dr. Dray, I started using moisturizer on damp skin on my body. Changed my life.
This has been almost identical to my skincare routine since I was 23 (i'm now 34) and I get mistaken for being in my 20's all the time. I've overcome cystic acne, redness, and dark spots. I go through bottles of Image sunscreen and recommended by my dermatologist to never put prescription acne directly on without a moisturizer. Now if I could only get sleeeeep... but I can't stop watching these videos, it's now almost midnight where I am, and I have no self-control to stop.
Would you say the image sunscreen is good for sensitive skin ? Ive been looking for a good sunscreen bc all the ones I've tried break me out :(
Same here
How did you start? I'm 23, looking to learn how to actually take care of my skin x

Dr. Andrea? I looove your intro “ Oh! Hey Guuueeess”! I’ve been following your informative videos and not only at time you crack me up... love yr energy!
I've taken pretty good care of my skin since I was a teenager (I'm 66 now). However, I have learned so much from Dr. Dray since watching her a little over a year ago and the proof is in my skin. She's the best.
Me too. I’m 70 and have spent less money and have better skin since watching Dr. Dray!!!!
My routine is suspiciously looking more and more like yours 🤣🤣🤣
Yaas
Same. I want to try this same routine but I'm wondering if it will work for acne. I get bad acne but I dont think I get acne because I'm prone to acne but rather, because I don't even have a skincare routine and my face doesn't know what to do.
Was thinking the same 🤣🤣
@@Char-weee Her routine is great for acne. Retinoids (she suggested Tretinoin and Differin/Adapalene) are a treatment for acne.
Thanks for reviewing again you're a 24- our skin care routine with us! I watched today's video first and I'm glad you mentioned the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Cream again!
You are THE best! I'm a visual learner and you clear up any questions or confusion by showing exactly what you mean. Thank you for taking one for the team and showing a visual of your entire routine, including being in the shower, it is much appreciated.
I swear by oil cleansing (and washing the oil off with a gentle cleanser). It played a HUGE role in healing my acne!!!
Wich oil cleanser you use?
really? I just started it two weeks ago but still scared of breakouts and wanted to quit.
wich oil cleansing do you use?
I bought simple's oil cleanser but it broke me out on my t zone maybe I used a lot. I massaged it for 15 minutes 3 times in 4 days and I have oily skin so that's probably why but I hope they don't leave scars
larrystylinson Maybe you’re using a comedogenic oil, sunflower oil is great for oily skin and if your acne prone or currently have acne I’ve read somewhere jojoba oil works well

Thanks for being so honest about your routine, it helps understanding what you do and the process... your videos are excellent!
Your skin care routine videos have changed my life. Struggled with moderate acne for years and all of your suggestions were the only thing that’s ever worked for me.
Great overview and refresher of your routine ~ thanks so much Dr Dray. I love your skin care philosophy 👍

I’m so happy I stumbled across your blog. 😃 I am a minimalist & I do have skin concerns such as rosacea. For so many years I never moisturized or for that matter used products fearing more breakouts. I have picked up so many tips from you. Thank you so much!!!
Dr. Dray, just so you know. I found you about a year ago and your advice saved my skin and I can’t thank you enough. 🙏🏻

Same. I’ve been ditching blow drying for awhile due to excessive heat and use my old T shirt on my hair. It comes out in nice waves and curls overnight. Absolutely love it.
How?

Do you sleep in your old t-shirt with your wet waves wrapped up?

Let me just say, I love you so much. Like sooo much. A trustworthy dermatologist with perfect skin that literally uses affordable products in her routine. You’ve also helped me with my increase in armpit stench that I’ve been struggling w/ for months when all the deodorant I used stopped working. That u for sharing great info w/ us.

Your videos are so informative! I have been following you for years and the skin care advice I have received is priceless. My skin looks better now when I’m in my early forties than 10-15 years ago. I am forever grateful that your videos helped me transform my skin and saved me a lot of money that I would otherwise spend on expensive serums and eye creams 😀 so big 🙏
Love Dr Dray the best advice I have seen a long time and it’s free ! I have changed my skin routine over to her recommendations what a difference I have seen much better results than the more expensive products I use to buy ... no more I love Cerve products !
So glad to have discovered your videos. I used to always think I needed the most expensive skin care products, and was sad that I wasn't able to afford them! Now I realize that a lot of those products are overhyped, and that cheaper products can work wonders!
Happy ThusDray! I've been slowly switching over to most of these products as my old overpriced skincare is used up and both my skin and wallet can't be happier! Thank you, Dr. Dray for teaching us to listen to science instead of marketing.
i just loved the "you don't need to shower your entire body" tip. I have dry body skin and also tattoos, so it makes a HUGE diference on the colors! thank you for sharing
Loved this video so informational. I've had acne since my teen years and I do think less is more for skin care thank you!
I just felt I should take the time to leave this comment, because you certainly deserve it. Thank you so much for posting this content. Your videos are so straightforward and easy to understand. I love your no frills approach to skincare. For someone like myself, skincare had always been pretty overwhelming, but you simplify it so well! You’re always so clear on which ingredients work and why. The product doesn’t need to be expensive to be effective. Ready to steal your entire skin care routine lolo, love your channel, it's literally a skin saver~ ❤
This is so informative. I love the part about skipping towels and moisturizing the body while your skin is damp. I already do that with my face and never thought about including the rest of me in the routine.
Always appreciate your videos!! I have been feeling overwhelmed with all the products to incorporate into my am/pm routine like the AHA’s & BHA’s, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, etc. Yours is quite simple.
