In this Rhino Grasshopper tutorial, we will remodel the Kinetic Rain by ART+COM Studios (2012). First, we will model a rectangular array of points and then we will use the point attractor technique to move the points down. Finally, we can connect the lines and show the points with a cloud display.

Hello, Thank you for the amazing content as always. I had a question pertaining to this definition. I am doing an exploration of how sound would manipulate the data set and was wondering if you have any advice on how to go about having sound manipulate the length of the "line". Thank you

Hello, i was following this example step by step buy my grasshopper module fails when i connect the EvaluateSurface. My Evaluate Surface module also looks different as it only has point, normal and frame as output options and not uv. I tried installing all the plugins recommended by the website for the course but still no dice. Am i missing a plugin or might it be my grasshopper version. Im running Rhino 5

Hi there ! Thanks alot for the tutorials, really appreciate it ! By the way, am kind of curious is there a way to simulate these curvatures to respond to sun paths ( altitudes and azimuths) and to view it visually in Grasshopper ? Assuming we dont take attractor points to be where the sun is. Thanks !

You're welcome. Yes it can be done by using the Ladybug's sun path. Check out our Ladybug tutorial. There is also a Heliotrope plugin for sun I guess (food4rhino.com)

Grasshopper and Dynamo are the same but Grasshopper is faster and also has a larger community of designers while dynamo users are usually architects

Thanks , grasshopper is a programming language so it has a steep learning curve but you can start learning with short simple tutorials or you can take a look at our course
