If you've tested multiple live TV streaming services, add your rankings in the comments section. It may help someone who is new to cutting the cord!
I had both hulu live tv and youtube. I thought youtube was the best until a few things. The local channels were 720p and the other channels were 1080p. But come to the next day it was dropped from 1080p to 720p. The quality of streaming both are terrible
Thanks so much for your great videos. I cut the cord two months ago by following your suggestions and I couldn’t be happier! UA-cam TV is my favorite streaming service based on their excellent channel lineup including locals. I tried Hulu live and Fubo but UA-cam TV gave me more of what was important to me. I think their live guide could use some improvement (like the ability to skip ahead by days) but it still meets my needs. Thanks again for your work!
.I'm a Sling user that switched from Hulu a couple years ago due to cost. Was a DirecTV satellite user before that. Sling offers my "Must Have" channels and its reliable. For me, it comes down to 1. Cost, 2. Channels, 3. Reliability. I will echo frustration dealing with DirecTV on anything and will never consider them again.
I've only used UA-cam TV and love it! They finally implemented 5.1 surround sound in my area!
I remember you Jim. Glad you’re doing well with it.
@@MichaelSaves thanks for all your continued guidance! Made dropping cable much less stressful. Really enjoy your content!
My rankings as follows below. Everyone has their must have channel list, and FuboTV lacks some must have channels. We are seriously looking to switch to DirecTV stream.
1. YTTV (stellar DVR at decent price)
2. DirecTV Stream (It's basically a full cable service, very few channels are missing)
3. HULU + Live TV (great VOD service)
4. Sling
Fubo not having TNT was a dealbreaker for me. I may not watch too much basketball early in the season but later in the season, during the NCAA tournament & the playoffs I do. Sling is a dealbreaker also because even if you take away the consideration that they don't have locals, once you actually put together a package that everyone in your house wants it's actually the same price as the other services then because you don't have locals if you can't get them through an antenna you then have to pay for one or all of the other streaming services so you aren't saving money. So for me it really comes down to Hulu or YTTV and the UI is just so much better on YTTV than Hulu. I do wish however that YTTV had A&E. Even though A&E is becoming more & more unwatchable I do like three programs but they show them so infrequently I'm not really missing anything.
What is YTTV? I just got rid of cable $279 a month..smh.
@@pamelawatkins384 UA-cam tv
This is actually a great breakdown/comparison
Thank you! I’ve been hearing how great yttv is and your breakdown greatly helped
I've tried all except Fubo, due to lack of sports channels I want, and Hulu live, due to not having a good reason to switch from UA-cam TV. Can say I have enjoyed all the time I've had with it. I had sling as a good cheap option but once they got rid of regional sports networks it no longer worked for me.
If you're an NBA fan like me I think UA-cam TV give you the most games for the money as they include NBA TV as part of their regular channel line up
Testing several services, Sling TV is best for our family. Fubo TV didn’t have basketball. This was a deal breaker for my husband. UA-cam TV does not have the Tennis channel. That is a deal breaker for me. Sling TV has both. We have been customers of Sling TV since it began. To be honest, now we have five streaming services. I worked return to cable, but the prices are ridiculous. Thank you for another great video. Have a happy Sunday. ❤❤🎉🎉
UA-cam has the NFL Sunday ticket or Package now. So that was huge
I’m thrilled to see DirecTV in last place! I was literally one of their first group of streamers, even a beta tester for the original app. The price point was great. Then a year in they raised all their prices but said, I’d be grandfathered in, then only months later they raised them again, this time they raised mine “proportionally”. 🤨 So much for grandfathered. Again months later another raise. That’s when I left and just went to Hulu, Amazon and Netflix all for way less. Yes, I gave up live, but that was just around when Locast came around. It was great, until of course the typical greedy networks shut them down. Unfortunately I live in a canyon and cannot get over the air TV. Right now I’m trying Sling TV, and it seems OK, but interestingly I’ve already gotten used to binge watching TV and hate waiting week after week for the next episode. So, it’s great for NFL, but I’m kind of so-so about live TV anyway these days.
If you can find a nother person who wants direct stream you can share it. big factor for us is my parents have renters so sometime have 4-5 steams going I believe this is the only one that allows as many streams as it does 20 at a home location. And it allows for 2 streams at a second location. And both my husband and father love their local sports.
I haven't tried Sling TV and Fubo TV. UA-cam TV is my live-streaming service of choice. Of the three I tried I'd rank them as follows...
1) UA-cam TV - Best overall service
2) DirecTV Stream - Best channel selection
3) Hulu Live TV - Disney+ and ESPN+ included
Sling tv is terrible because they don’t carry all the local channels you need a separate box to get the local channels. I think they carry Fox and nbc but you will need to type in your zip code to see what local channels are available in your area.
My personal choice is Hulu Michael it has loads of content old and new. Plus the price is nice.
I have UA-cam TV, and the only issue that I have with it is “Live TV” isn’t really “Live”. It’s like a minute or so behind. I can be watching a sporting event and get an alert on my phone about the game that I am watching. The alert will say it’s halftime, but the game still has :30 seconds or so remaining before halftime.
Yeah -- a 1-minute delay is a lot. Usually I find it's 15 or 30 seconds behind. But every year I keep hoping that streaming services will improve this. It affects all of them. Eventually we'll get streaming within a few seconds of real time action.
@@MichaelSaves Yes, I hope that we get real time streaming in the future. But right now I will keep notifications on my phone off until what I’m watching goes off.
which service has the least delay? @donmega85 @MichaelSaves
@@isnaxg9944 I tested this out last year ua-cam.com/video/yJqxsD9daMI/v-deo.html&feature=shares
Great video. I have given up on live streaming with those services, because to me, their customer service is hard to reach, they're pricey, and have an incomplete channel list. For the money, I like Philo TV, and their customer service is great as well.
Philo is great!
Never tried them.
For 25/ mo, it’s worth giving Philo a try. They have it now on their cloud dvr, where you can, with one move on your remote, skip the commercials. I’ve requested to them to widen their channels to include sports, news and other popular networks, but they probably don’t want the headache, lol!
@@thegracepreacher321 If they do that, their price will skyrocket and probably cost at least as much as UA-cam tv.
I'm glad if the companies are happy they get to include their rank at the end of some commercial, but there are very few things that I entrust to the opinion of the general public as a whole. I always prefer to have my trusted sources and more focused sets of people.
If there was a service where I could just get locals like NBC, ABC, FOX, and CBS. I would cancel my UA-cam tv. Along with those locals I would want ALL locals. For example, MeTV, Rewind TV, CW, Cozi TV, Antenna TV, etc. spectrum has something similar, but it’s almost as much as the Spectrum TV Choice package. The killer for them is the $21.00 local channel fee they charge.
My issue with Fubo was highly watched NFL and college games has motion issues. I have GB speed with a hardwired ATV+ also. I loved the multi view they have.
I currently have Sling TV Blue with Sports Extra. I have tried out UA-cam TV & Hulu Live TV. I feel like boh Hulu Live TV & UA-cam TV feel too much like cable with way too many channels I will never watch. Sling TV has two basic plans with add ons for customization. I have learned to live without ESPN with the league owned networks. Many sports fans are unable to live without ESPN. I do listen to same baseball games with MLB Audio. Many people that stay with Sling TV long term are happy.
I have sling blue with total tv( 1 month credit ) but will eventually have sling blue with 1 extra addon. If one can live without espn or locals or have antenna its a no brainer the savings are there for the taking.
I've had Sling tv for a long time and I have been very happy...until recently . I moved from NYC to CT and went from having local channel like Fox , Abc and Nbc to now only having Nbc . It sucks when wanting to watch Football on Sunday .
Fellow Sling user here. I'd say antenna reception issues is Sling's biggest Achilles heel. Here in TN I can get the locals I want with little to no interference about 85% of the time. But I get times where interference messes up a recording or watching football. When my locals are acting up on football days, I've had decent luck signing in to the NFL Network app, linking my Sling account as my TV provider and watching them there. The caveat is that it doesn't always work week to week for some reason. I have to unlink and relink Sling to NFL Network watch games. Give that a try.
I forgot to give my personal rankings based on CHANNEL LINEUP, UI QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE, so for what it's worth, here they are;
#1. UA-cam tv
#2. Fubo tv
#3. DirecTv Stream
#4. Hulu with live tv
#5. Sling tv
Like I already said in my other post, Fubo would be #1 with me if they had the Turner networks.
I really love their 1,000 hour DVR, because you can keep your recordings permanently.
BTW...Another GREAT video Michael 👍👍👍
Keep them coming.
Thanks. Very interesting!
I would have sworn that I had your notifications enabled; it wasn't. I just dumbed into your video on my recommended list. I guess everybody has their own version of what satisfies them. Seriously, if Sony didn't cancel their streaming service and then drop channels I still probably would be with them.
#1 rank is UA-cam TV
#2 Hulu tv
#3 direct tv stream
#4 sling tv
# 5 fubo tv
This is good, but I would switch #1 and #2 around.
@@jimroscovius nope, my decision still stands
@@brotherjohnwaynecausey I agree Hulu sucks I got rid of it.
@@shanew7361 l don't have hulu anyway
If Fubo had those Turner channels I would definately subscribe to them, but because they don't I will stay with UA-cam tv.
Fubo is a great service and I really can't argue with them being #1 in customer satisfaction.
without the turner networks it cant be great at best good ,same thing with youtube tv not having a@e networks (lifetime is a must).
Since I signed up for UA-cam TV, I have tried other TV streaming services to see if I can find anything better. I’ve tried fubo, Hulu, directv, and xfinity stream. In every case I have come back to UA-cam TV, not because it’s the best thing since sliced bread, but because don’t have to make too many compromises. UA-cam TV is buggy and it needs improvements but it has all the channels that I’m interested in. Hulu TV+ is a close second.
Wow... Farzin, you've really tried quite a few streaming services!! 😊 We had the crummiest cable streaming company (local) where I live... and I was so happy when I came across Michael's channel and started reading comments from people like you about the various streaming services. It's only been two months since I dumped my local CRUMMY company and switched to UA-camTV.. I can't believe I didn't discover it sooner. I've had quite a few neighbors who had DirectTV, but after visiting and checking my UA-camTV out.. they've switched over too. OOPS... Halfway thru this I hit enter while I was still typing, LOL 😆
@@bearpawz_ Hi SherryLynn, I’m glad you found my notes useful. Enjoy your new streaming experience.
How do you say YTTV is the best and has all the channels you need then say it’s buggy? So how are you watching all those channels when it’s laggy and buggy? Now I don’t k ow if I should go for UA-camTv 😖
@@Charlydx21 my comments were in comparison with cable but you need to understand that streaming services are fairly new compared to cable and they are going through growing pains. UA-cam tv is being improved. It is still better than other streaming services.
I've tried them all and UA-cam TV is the best live TV streaming service by far in my opinion. Smooth channel streams, user-friendly guide, unlimited DVR with no fee to skip commercials (looking at you Hulu Live), quick loading of channels during channel surfing, huge selection of sports and news channels, etc.
Dish flex pack with locals, sling, you tube tv worst
we are a Sling subscriber. The only complaint we have had is unreliable recordings on the DVR. But after 4 bouts with customer service the reliability is back to acceptable levels. Customer service kept writing tickets to the tech dept. Customer service claimed updates in two of the bouts. what seems to have fixed it was when I went through all the recordings and reloaded them one by one.
Having tried sling HULU + live & Fubo, have to say I’m pretty impressed with Fubo. Not tried You Tube tv as yet
I love UA-cam TV. It’s just a bit pricey …
I'm using Sling Blue and am satisfied with the lineup, but of course it would be more convenient to have locals included. Living in Denver I can bring in the locals I need with some cheap antennas I already had (for those times when cable goes out).
My top 5 in order:
1) UA-cam TV
2) Hulu Live
3) Sling TV
4) Fubo TV
5) Direct TV Stream
My biggest feature I like with UA-cam TV is the Key Plays Feature when recording a sports game 🏈
You don’t have voice sync issues?!
@@FarnzworthIII I notice on few shows that are delayed in real time
I love fubo. It just always works and I literally never have had one problem with it. I had a major problem with UA-cam tv where the the sound was ahead of the image on the screen. It made it unwatchable for me.
We started with SlingTV when we first dropped cable. But we currently use Philo due to pricing and what we watch. I do use Sling for a month during March Madness. I have several ota dvrs so I don't need to pay for locals.
Hi Michael, thank you for the streaming service review. I am currently in my 2 week free trial with you tube tv. Can you tell me if you tube tv can be navigated on the tv screen or is it only navigated through app on phone or tablet? I find it hard to get use to working from my phone/tablet from the current service with cable on screen/through cable remote control. I do understand part of my frustration is from being accustomed to 20+ years with cable on screen interface. Thank you in advance for your reply.
You can watch UA-cam TV on a TV screen. I have a beginner's guide here that may help you: ua-cam.com/video/5sZXxOGP0RU/v-deo.html
1-UA-cam TV (best overall but don't use anymore because missing a few fav channels I like and price)
2-Fubo (use during mlb season for ATT Sportsnet but is the most expensive of my 6 choices)
3-Sling (use when not baseball season because best bang for my buck)
4-Friendly TV (for the price of 1 month of FUBO $89 you can get 1 year of Friendly with unlimited dvr and 72 hour look back) - I have a yearly subscription (all hallmarks, insp, metv, curiosity, history)
5-Philo (used for a while. ok in a pinch but for about $10 more you can get sling)
6-Hulu (never liked it)
I've only tried YTTV and Fubo and after doing so, I have reverted back to Comcast.
YTTV Issues:
1) Lots of audio sync issues which leads to my second issue..
2) Tech support is awful
3) $20.00 per month for the 4k package is absolutely ridiculous
4) Often times during live sports I encountered numerous episodes of poor resolution
Fubo Issues:
1) Everything is broadcast in 720p
2) Pricing
3) lack of Turner networks was an issue for me since I do watch a lot of the Men's college basketball tournament
Overall I would likely give a slight edge to Fubo primarily because their tech support far exceeds that of YtTV
I have had Sling for few years. I am very happy with it. I added an airtv and I am all set.
FuboTV is my favourite... The sports selection is really good, I need local channels so can't use Sling TV. I work away from home a lot and across the country. The problem here is Hulu + Live Tv and UA-cam TV DEMAND you check into your home network or home area every 30-90 days or they cut you off. Fubo and Sling don't appear to do this.
Fubo for me has been flawless and worth the extra $$$
I’ve tried most. I wouldn’t rank them UA-cam TV, Hulu, live with the bundle, and then sling. I have sling right now because I have two antennas. once I regain a job I will probably go back to UA-cam TV because that was my gold standard. I like fubo, but not having TBS or TNT is a dealbreaker for me.
We use DirectTV Stream and High Speed Comcast is my internet. Hi from Michigan 🚂
All I want is Disney, Cartoon Network, Nick for my daughter. And sports for me and nfl redzone/ network.
Literally all I want!

People tend to focus on the negative more than the positive. As for features, all should be known before the trial is over. I can only speak to one of these services as of this date and that is SLING. I'm on the second or third week of my first month trial and will say the application is slow, cumbersome to use, not friendly, but it does work.
I have DirecTV Stream only because I need Bally Sports. I strongly dislike the cancellation process, and the cost. But otherwise I love it. I like the idea of Fubo multiview, but the lack of Bally sports is a bummer.
Love DiecTV Stream. Probably one of the higher costing ones, but the navigation and on demand is A1!!!
I appreciate your work! Do you know if Directv Stream gives provider access to independent channel apps like Directv Satellite does?
i use Directv Stream, they do. like HBO Max & such, you can use the apps still.
How about RV'ers ! I went from YT TV to Fubo because I liked the recorded library user interface. I sometimes go on camping trips, and Direct TV was a no brainer on watching TV with a little dish pointing. This trip was my first without DirectTV. Well I have a 3-6 mb download speed with my Wifi in the RV and Fubo had many annoying freezes, pauses, low resolution video. I still had my YT TV plan so i thought I'd compare. UA-cam TV was flawless in video stream, and quality was much better than Fubo. That tells me that if you're in an area were signal is not too great, UA-cam TV hands down will give you a moving picture. Just a first time observation. I was liking Fubo too. Hope now that UA-cam upgrades their recordings user interface.
I’m bundled Sling & Philo….all the channels i want are on Philo, Sling gives me Sports, TNT, TBS
I did this once too, but what do you like on Philo that is not on Sling?
@@k94862 Tv One, WETV, TLC
@@AnotherTekGuy yes I’d like the first 2 also, but I have TLC… do you have the orange sling?
@@k94862 Yes i have Orange. I might have it, but the app is so buggy and laggy on my Apple Devices that i only use it to watch Sports at this point.
Right, I get it. I would just keep Philo, but I want the news and the one local channel that’s on Sling. And for the most part, I really like Sling.
UA-cam TV # 1
I love directv stream for ease of use. I'm angry at all the price increases. Ironically that's why I left Directv satellite. Now they are raising prices at the same as UA-cam TV price so might as well keep them.
Honestly peoples wants/needs are so different that there is no wrong way to rank them. For me it’s:
1. Sling (price and must have channels are my #1 factor). Sling blue has everything I’d normally watch.
2. Hulu live (Hulu has mostly anything you’d probably wanna watch but also the bundle makes sense especially if you were buying d+ & espn+ separate.
3. UA-cam tv (ok layout but expensive with no standout perks like bundled apps)
4. Dtv stream (this is my favorite layout but the price is ridiculous, loved it but had to cancel)
5. Fubo (no tnt or tbs so I have never tried)
I've had Hulu TV now for over a year. The constant problem where the picture doesn't match the sound is very annoying. Hulu told me it's my internet speed. 100 Mbps. Ya right. I'm about to dump them.
Not sure where yet. Leaning towards UA-cam TV. 🤔
I've found all the services to have needlessly clunky interfaces in one way or another, but YTTV has been by far the most reliable while having the overall best channel lineup.
Fubo? Wow... uh... ok. Doesn't meet my needs, but, good for them!
One thing I've noticed about J.D. Power, over the many years they have been around, is that they can design a survey to please any customer or achieve any desired result. If Yugo ( the car manufacturer ) hired them, I can guarantee they would have found some positive result. For those not well informed about cars; Yugo produced the worst cars ever made in the modern era, bar none.
Interesting, I will have to look into that more. I have written a number of articles based on J.D. Power surveys over the years, but at the end of the day a study is just a study. I think with this survey (which included cable, satellite and live TV streaming) the results may have been different with a larger sample size for live TV streaming. As I mentioned, only about 3,000 of the 23,000 people surveyed were live TV streaming subscribers.
@@MichaelSaves I noticed this decades ago with J.D. Power. I'm NOT an expert on their business model nor how they make their money but they do make money! Surveys could have been sent, in a clever way, to certain groups. Statistics are easy to manipulate, you can weigh questions in a particular way, add a question that will bias the survey to achieve a desired end result and so on.
One more note about J.D. Powers. "because companies pay J.D. Power licensing fees, there are situations in which J.D. Power is making money off the very companies it’s ranking. This possible conflict of interest is something competitor "Consumer Reports" addressed in a May 2020 article. The article called attention to the fact that J.D. Power charges fees for companies to access survey results, mention the firm in ads, and participate in their Certified Customer Service Program." Forbes also questioned J.D. Powers methods.
@@d.t.1470 OK thanks. I’m keeping my video up. The study was simply a springboard for me to share my thoughts as someone who has tested these services over the years. I will look into what you wrote.
@@MichaelSaves I never meant for you to take down your video!!!!! Just a heads up about J.D. Powers. You do good work. My best.
Can anyone tell me how many seconds the following streaming services are behind the live broadcast?
UA-cam TV
Hulu + LIVE TV
Fubo TV
DIRECTV Stream
I think you'll get a different answer every time. I did a video on this some time ago: ua-cam.com/video/yJqxsD9daMI/v-deo.html
Sorry, JD Power... but I'll be sticking with UA-cam TV until something better (for me) comes along. I dabbled with cutting the cord several years ago when AT&T Watch TV (or whatever it was called back then), now DirecTV Stream began to offer service for $35 per month, but at that time, the service was very unreliable, so I stayed with cable. A couple years after that I revisited AT&T and they had massively improved their service. Sure, the price went up (I think it was $40 or $45 per month at the time, but I finally felt comfortable cutting the cord. I loved the channel lineup and stayed with them, despite frequent price increases, until they jacked the price up to a point that no longer made sense. That's when I switched to UA-cam TV. I lost a few channels, but nothing that was a deal breaker, and I gained the unlimited cloud DVR. So I've been happy with YTTV for the last several years. IMO, it's still the best service available at it's price.
. 🥰 What DJ said 👆 ... (I love UA-camTV too! ) 📺🏆
We chose FuboTV because of its clean DVR capability of only recording new episodes as compared to YTTV which mixes in on demand content with your recordings. However, our experience with fuboTV has not been good. I've used it on multiple devices and have extremely high bandwidth with fiber to my home. But around 6:00 p.m. each evening we begin to get buffering that can continue for quite some time. Trying any other app does not have this problem so it's isolated to FuboTV.
I have been on YTTV since it came out and have never had a problem with it mixing VOD, it only gives me my new episodes only.
@@MFTAQ Are you referring to your recordings found in the Library? I am surprised if yes as that is not at all what we see. Amazing! I would love to know how to do that.
@@DonDraperVideos Yes sir I am, I just add my shows and and it always has new shows, sometimes the new show has a dvr or vod selection right below the new show for you to choose from which I never choose vod because that has ads 😏
HD audio (surround sound) is very important and nobody talks about this!
UA-cam TV has slowly been rolling out this for various devices.
I prefer UA-cam tv 📺 😏
When you look at those scores, they are all within a few percentage points of each other.
That means that customers are generally pleased with all of these services.
The concept of "rankings" means nothing when scores are this close.
They’re all pretty close, for sure.
I'm too poor & cheap to pay for TV. I pretty much enjoy old sitcoms and can watch them on Roku. Even still using my roof top antennae, I can get several channels that are even on Roku & come in crystal clear. But most the time I just watch UA-cam.
I travel with a motorcycle and tent full time so don't care about local channels. All I want is to watch all the Colts football games and history Channels Oak Island, Travel channel would be nice but not a big deal. What do you think would be the cheapest way to go? I am thinking Sling. If I got Orange & Blue would that work for me?
I'm not sure how you would be able to watch the Colts games if you're traveling full-time. There are a lot of restrictions for out-of-market games. But the NFL+ app would work for mobile.
I still only use Pluto TV, TUBI, and now Netflix!
I started off w YT TV then they dropped NESN. Fubo was fine during the shortened 2021 sseason then the NHL switched to ESPN and TNT for their national programming for the 2021-2022 season. Fubo TV and DirecTV Stream are the only 2 that carry my main RSN in NESN. BUT since NESN has added an optional DTC streaming service back in June I ditched DirecTV Stream and use a UA-cam TV and NESN 360 (DTC version) combination. The only major downside is that NESN 360 is $30/month and they keep adding incentives for the annual plan. They haven't discounted the monthly plan nor added incentives for the monthly option. streaming has gotten just as expensive as Cable if you need sports, but even as I type/say that I would just have cable w one cable box to authenticate everything automatically and use the streaming apps on my Chromecast w Google TV.
I have YTTV and Bally Sport Ohio, both are separate packages. I'm paying after tax for YTTV $69.70 a month and Bally Sport Ohio $203.76 after tax for a FULL YEAR. a full year, so if you divide it by 12, It's $16.98 a month. If you prefer paying monthly, it will cost you 19.99 a month before tax, I'm in the 7.25% bracket, in which it will come out to $21.44 monthly. Multiply 21.44 by 12, making it a total of $257.28. I'm saving $53.52 yearly by paying once a year to have the Bally Sports Ohio package. I'm a rabid Cavaliers and Blue Jackets fan. Your NESN seems awfully high? I have both Roku and Chromecast on all my TV's. I'm subscribed to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV+.
I like the layout and functionality better on UA-cam tv but ended up with Hulu do it it also having Disney plus and ESPN plus included
I use UA-camTV, and yes, it’s price is a bit expensive, but I like the channel lineup. I’ve tried Direct TV Stream and Hulu Live, and I wasn’t impressed.
Yes, however, UA-cam TV still has not added History or the Science channels. I mean, come on already. Those are pretty important channels to some people.
I have had Direct TV for over 20 yrs. I love the programming but not the price. I have Choice plus. which is about $80 a month plus taxes and maint fees plus equipment fees plus this fee that fee now I'm paying $160 a mth and that's without any premium ch. Fubu is right up my alley but, like other people I too like TNT, and TBS. I have an outside antenna so I'm thinking of combining Fubo with either sling or youtube, that would still be a lot cheaper than what I'm paying now. And I'll still have my MLB NFL and golf plus NESN. If anyone out there has a better pkg idea I would love to hear it.
DISH just sent me an offer to return with their basic programming at $69/month AND a $500 VISA gift card! I’ve had UA-camTV for a year now but the DISH offer is tempting. Any thoughts?
Up to you. How much are the fees on top of the $69? That's what I would figure out first.
Does that include installation/activation fees too?
I tried them all.
DirecTV Stream had the best picture quality, but lacked NFL Network and RedZone channel. Also too $$$ and no android/googleTV app. Their box was horrid. You had to switch from HDR to SDR manually and reboot.
SlingTV was OK, but most channels were 30 fps and DVR often failed to record a show
Fubo was missing too many channels I watch
Hulu interface I didnt like, and it was just as expensive as UA-camTV
UA-camTV was my choice. Had all the channels I watch. Red Zone was available. Many sports are in 4K. Dolby Digital on a lot of channels. Never misses a recording. Picture quality on my server is just as good as DirecTV Stream.
Full disclosure, I get $10/mo off YTTV from T-mobile.
Directv is now on google tv
When I first started the search for services so that I could drop cable, I made a chart of all of the channels that matched what I wanted. Fubo was the ONLY one that met ALL of them. UA-cam TV has been on the bottom of my list for lack of selection. I know that Fubo is missing certain sports channels that some people want, but it has the most rounded offering, because I tend to like to watch more "serious" things. I like both The Science Channel and Smithsonian. Fubo is the only one that has both. I like to watch The Weather Channel, and not just during hurricane season 😂. Frndly is the only other service that carries that channel. Of course, it also has the local channels.
If your tastes are like mine, and you have a household of sports lovers, reality TV lovers, kids, and someone like me, Fubo may end up being the same or even slightly cheaper (for now) than what it would take to piecemeal everything you need to meet all of those options. This wasn't the case for me, and why I ultimately cancelled during the trial. It was only slightly less than cable TV, and I don't care about sports and use an antenna for locals.
UA-cam TV has The Weather Channel and the Smithsonian channel but not the Science channel.
Hulu with live tv also has the Science Channel and Smithsonian, but no Weather Channel.
Science Channel is available through their Entertainment Extra.
@@shinakuma1779 Maybe different markets have different offerings, but The Weather Channel is not an option in my area on UA-cam TV. That’s why Fubo was my preferred option. It has ALL of the channels I would want.
One reason for the discrepency between your recent poll and the JD Power poll could be that many of the responders to your poll are or were UA-cam TV subscribers. Which is fine and no way makes your poll weaker--just maybe a little different. I think the overall questions between your poll and JD's were similar enough (even considering that JD's poll ranked other service types). I can't prove this obviously but it's plausible I would say, no? You are fair and always have been BUT you can't control if many of your views and subscribers are UA-cam TV satisfied customers. I know that I am and I use your videos to enhance my experience and learn more. Surely others do the same. JD Power just very likely sampled a more diversified group since theres no previous JD POWER content regarding UA-cam TV simliar to what you've produced. Hope I made sense. I'm NOT knocking your videos or poll. I like you and your content. That's why I am pondering this question. Take care and thank you for all the great content. )
Oh I agree with all of this. And I was in no way bashing the JD Power report. I was using it as a springboard to summarize my findings from the last 6+ years of reviews.
@@MichaelSaves For sure. )
OK, now I'm gonna share something I know about JD Power awards, ect. It's a paid for award. It's basically buying yourself an award and then brag you won something. I don't trust it.
As I said in the video, it’s just one study. I just used the information to get people thinking about value beyond pricing and to share my thoughts as a reviewer of these plans. I don’t think anyone should read too much into a single study on any topic.
@@MichaelSaves I understand what you're doing and there's nothing wrong on your behalf but I wouldn't doubt that I could pay JD Power and win an award for best YT commenter of the year.
@@chrisclayton584I hear you. I clearly have some more research to do.
We seen changes, this year 2022 UA-cam premium made a move to eliminate some rivals once and for all, due to their big price hike they made us cancel permanently Netflix, Hulu and Disney in a blink of an eye, such a carnivore move! as for the rest Apple, Hbo and peacock don’t count to us yet. We were able to save Spotify premium and Discovery plus along for the ride but we fear discovery plus might loose its way once the merge is completed. We crown Amazon prime best for originals and movies (great job!) and UA-cam premium for making such a move knowing the benefits UA-cam premium and Amazon prime provide to us. Can’t wait to 2023 …
Considering changing from UA-cam due to price increase but found it is hard to get national news broadcasts.
I just started a 30 day trial of FUBO through Best Buy (came as a "gift") to evaluate it over UA-camTV, I did this as I need MSG to watch the Buffalo Sabres. I have to say I think I like FUBO better, it has only ben a couple days but the interface is better, I like the multi-view on football days, it just feels more polished. Losing CNN was a gift (fake news) and the other content fits my needs. What a pleasant surprise FUBO has been !
We liked FuboTV because of its ability to record only new episodes so your recorded library is clean (not so with UA-cam TV). However we experience constant buffering after 6pm (have GB bandwidth fiber) and then just hangs on loading about twice per week. This occurs on two different streaming devices and I suspect a memory leak could be the cause. I hope your experience is better.
Fake News!😅 Fox News lies to you on a daily bases! More people died from covic-19 in red states than blue! Fox and the Fake president lied to you!
My rankings are like this: 1-Hulu Live TV, 2-Fubo, 3-SlingTV, 4-UA-cam TV. Philo is a good service at a really nice price, but sine there is no ESPN or any other sports channels, it is not a viable solution during Football season.
JD Power is Nuts UA-cam TV and Hulu are the Best
Hulu Live is great for me. I don't watch NBA, but I do watch NFL, and I get what I want at half the price of cable. Plus, it includes Disney+ and ESPN+. That alone makes it a better value than UA-cam TV, if you like those services.
Fubo doesn't even have the option for HBO. I do really like Fubo's user interface though. Hulu should take note.
You can get HBO on it own for $9.00 a mouth
Love UA-cam tv just a bit pricey I got the deal with T-Mobile
The only reason I’m considering Fubo is because they have ATT Sportsnet which will allow me to watch the Rockets and Astros
If youtube tv has regional sports. I would switch. But at the moment i like my regional sports and have no problem with my directv stream
do you take into consideration Spanish add ons and pricing?
I didn’t for this video. This was based on the English base plans. I could look into the Spanish plans at some point.
UA-cam Tv doesn't have date or the time on their
So if you hate sports and sitcoms and only like conspiracy theories, documentaries, suspense and movies like game of thrones, which one should I sign into first?
Pluto TV = FREE!!!!!
Why do we have to pay for service that shows commercials. BS
Sucks when you have dad that doesn’t know how to operate a live streaming app. I actually wish i could just stick to YT TV.
Neat
youtube tv is fair but blocks selective PBS and no yankees unless on tbs fox nyc market
Spectrum Basic cable still wins me over regional sports networks and Turner networks
My choice fubo tv bc of Bally sports in on it with nfl network which
Direct tv does not have
Sling TV is WAY worse than UA-cam TV, from the fast forward and interface to the days where your shows don't record even though you confirm they are selected as recording. Sling value is great and I have taken advantage of the 50% off first month a few times, but despite that I'm back with UA-cam TV. The trade off is price and performance, also love the live view of YTT on the web when I can get what's on right now live on multiple channels.
Hulu Sucks......Too much buffering! Done with them!
Hulu is the best
UA-cam TV is the best of all/
All these are too expensive and yes I have a good paying job I'm just smart with my money. Frndly tv is very reasonable and has a lot of on demand content. Everything else that is not on frndly tv I can get with discovery plus because it doesn't need to be live.
TJ and Amy 🤣😂🤣
Lol when that news came out, I remembered they were in this video showing the fuboTV Multiview
@@MichaelSaves haha I was caught by surprise. I was just looking for a good comparison of the streaming services. Made my day 😆
UA-cam tv is too expensive. It’s as much as cable.
Your survey is far more accurate than JD power in this case. People that only care about football love fuboTV. People that like all sports should stay away from it. Far away from it. Not to mention the classic movies on Turner classic movies that you cannot see anywhere else.
Aren’t JD power awards given to the highest bidder…..
