- Short contact therapy is the best to get started using potentially irritating formulations, such as; #retinol, #tretinoin, #adapalene, #tazarotene, #hydroquinone, & many others
.
.
😙Who should use? People with sensitive skin, this includes rosacea patients. If you have normal skin but would like to reduce chances of any irritation, SCT is a sensible option
.
👉How to use? Apply the product for 5 to 10 minutes then wash off. You can do it nightly or three times a week if you have super sensitive skin, or the topical is potentially super irritating
.
📈How to increase? Add 5-10 minutes every week or two. End point is to leave overnight. If you have any irritation, back off.
.
✍🏻Clinical indications: #acne, photodamage, photoaging, #melasma (hydroquinone) & many more
.
📖What do the papers say? Great treatment for acne in the context of retinoids. Favourable outcomes. Logic prevails that it is better to have someone on the skin for a short period of time, compared to a longer period of time just to get marked skin irritation (& not use it after) - Наука та технологія
Tretinoin is great especially if people know how to use it properly which isnt hard actually. However it can be quite a hassle to buy it whenever you need it in some countries.
Just go to your GP for it
I love science! Thank you for the explanation.
I was first introduced to Tretinoin in the 90s as a topical acne medication rather than anti aging
Me too. Before Accutane
Thank you Doc, I'm on 0.05%
He is very to the point and intelligent. ❤
I've been on tretinoin for 4 years (just increased to 0.1% recently) and it has done nothing for my sun-induced freckles. It also doesn't really do much for defined static wrinkles. But it does "normalize" the skin, makes it less textured and I think it makes it plumper/juicier. But if pigmentation is your only concern, definitely look elsewhere.
try Niacinamide for hyperpigmentation
I'm scared of it now in my 40s, because I was given an Rx for tretinoin in my 20s and it worsened my hyperpigmentation, to this day I still have discolored areas from it
Were you using sunscreen when using tretinoin?
@@ianjarrett7449 yep. I just had a reaction to it
Hello dr please tell me does subscion cause sagging? I have done 3 co2 lasers but didn't get results only got little improvement from 1 session now i am going to do a subscion but i saw people complaining about skin sagging
How tretinoin reaches the fibroblasts inside the dermal layer?
Can a red light be used on same or next day to trentinoin?
I use them the same day. No problem in my experience
@@piero_ce Thank you
I have melasma and rosacea and I use .025 tret. Also I have been rotating hydroquinone 12% every 90 days. I also taken transx orally. I have done this cycle for about a year. My melasma has been very stubborn. I am brown skin and my Dermatologist doesn’t recommend any lasers. What other alternatives do I have?
Hi I have asian skin type which is in Fitzpatrick 4. I have been doing the laser toning which is safe for melasma skin and my melasma got much lighter.
Try Cyspera!!
I had a mole on my chin and accidentally scratched the dark pigment off it looks like a pimple bump now flesh coloured but I want to get it flattened? Are there any lasers for that? I also have a raised bump from a mole I had removed on my face and I want to flatten it
I’m in melb, what should I do?
I’m using tretinoin for past three years and I’ve Melasma also . It has done nothing for my pigmentation !
I know it's drugstore, but I had this same experience with tretinoin and the thing that's helping me now is olay retinol 24! dramatic difference.
actually, I had to stop using the name brand (purple/silver jar) because they ruined it by adding peptides.... but the equate one is an exact dupe of the original. I LOVE it.
try Niacinamide for pigmentation
Should I continue to use it after my acne has cleared? ( Cream form )
Yes, for anti-aging…and as he says in this video, specifically, for anti-pigmentation
Too irritating for me, even after many many months and many ways of using it.
I use adapalene, much more tolerable for me. And also shown to help dark spots.
His videos are very good, but wondering why he has so much sun damage on his skin? It’s unusual for a dermatologist.
He actually doesn't, I had an appointment with him a couple of weeks ago and he looks great. This is a lighting issue.
@@jemjem247 glad to hear this😀
i use cream based tretinoin stieva-a 0.025% and i love it but its been DISCONTINUED!!!!!!!!!!
Love Altreno! No irritation at all. Pricey but worth it.
