He didn't just play the friend of David Boreanz's character - they were friends irl. Ironically Christian Kane whose character would pretend to be Doyle was also his friend.
I will remember you is so highly rated because there are a lot of Buffy and Angel shippers and a fair few of them are fanatics and.....some people just love a bit of doomed romance and the idea of sacrificing happiness to do what's right.
Season 1 Episode 5 Room with a view actually is also intersting in the way that it now looks like what might be the best first example of what is American Horror Story the show today, this story of the mother burying her kid in a wall and the ghost story after that, but mostly the visual here 16:06 very reminiscent of AHS. Maybe an inspiration that few have noticed, thanks for your great videos full of stuff like this !
The flashbacks always tie in to the storyline of the episode itself. The Prodigal is Kate and Angel's strained relationships with their fathers. The Faith episodes show flashbacks of Angelus getting reinsouled, which is essentially what Faith is going through. I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but disagree with a lot as well 😂 Also, Buffy and Angel HAD to have a clean break between the two characters AND the two shows.
Re: the repeated use of the same letters for W&H lawyers - its deliberate LM is Lucifer Moringstar - showing how they make deals with the devil or thar they're fallen angels.
Dude, Liam or Angel's dad RIGHTFULLY called out his failure of a son for his debauchery, which includes him attempting to seduce their young maid, arrogantly stating "everyone gets corrupt" without any thought or care, and he was as his father described, trash. Honestly, man. PAY ATTENTION to whatever shows, films, books, etc. you read or watch.
44:45 Fun fact: It was written in the script that this fight would take place during the rain. But they didn’t have the budget for a rain machine so they didn’t get one. But it just so happened that while filming IT REALLY STARTED RAINING.
I think Angel also destroys the Gem of Amarra because he just knows that while he has it all the other vampires will be angling to get it off him including very dangerous ones like Marcus and Spike.
I like that Buffy is unlikeable in this episode. It’s realistic when characters have their character flaws show, and most exes show the worst of themselves to each other when the breakup is still fresh.
I LOVED that Buffy was unlikable, too. In Pangs, Angel went to Sunnydale without telling her. She went through the ringer in Who Are You?, and to see Angel hugging Faith as soon as she arrived in LA was brutal.
@@rhythmchyc3089 Exactly. Her reaction makes perfect sense and makes her feel like a real person. I defy anyone who has been abused by someone in any way that even resembles that Faith has done to Buffy over the years to react better to seeing their abuser being hugged by by their ex, who they still have feelings for. I also find the berating of Buffy for reacting in a most understandable and human way even worse when one considers that Faith actually tried to kill Angel at the end of Buffy, season 3, and that Buffy almost died, offering herself up to heal Angel. Like who in their right mind thinks it's reasonable to expect her to react well to seeing Angel all huggy with Faith after what then happened in Who are you?
I was always confused by his motive for the Shanshu - didn’t he just give up being human so he could remain a vampire to save the world over and over???? So why would he want to be human say, in five years or fifty???? I never got that so I just ignored it for the entire series. 😀👍
Because the Shanshu prophecy was supposed to be about The Apocalypse. Not one of the scattered apocalypses, but the actual The End The End. He must remain a vampire with a soul to remain in the good fight to make it to that end of days and perform whatever role it is the vampire with a soul does. His brief humanising was a weird quirk but it's not the (what Angel frames as) reward for his role at the end of the world, at which point he'll no longer need to be a champion and his sub-Xander competency as a human won't matter.
Wow, yeah, what was that, like three and a half years ago? I think the only reason I stopped making music reviews was because they kept getting blocked for copyright lol.
Glenn Quinn ❤💔❤️ Also, Kate "tells him to fxck off" 😂🤣 So many things to say about this, but remember on War Zone, one of the girls of Oden Tal appears in Madam Dorien's (I haven't a clue how to spell them). Also, season 1 is supposed to be episodic. Monster of the week, rather than Big Bad of the season. I always will love season 1 ❤
I went years not wanting to watch Angel, even though I've been a fan of Buffy since teenage hood, because the first episode of Angel that I ended up seeing (out of order) was season 4 episode 17 inside out. And let's just say... I was kinda turned off.
Oh no. That episode must’ve confused the heck outta you. Imposter Cordelia in full effect. Connor at his most annoying (and tragic). The whole thing was a big ol mess.
Angel is a fantastic show. It’s quite a ride with its highs and lows, but I can’t recommend it enough. Angel gets far more room to grow as a character, becoming the lovable, dorky and awkward guy we know and love. Other Buffy characters get a chance to shine and develop; like Cordelia and Wesley, becoming truly great characters, and some fabulous storylines will keep you hooked. Even some Buffy alumni make appearances throughout, so there’s something for the Buffy fans who are unsure too. Please check this show out it’s great.
For any fan of character-driven storytelling, you can’t go wrong with Angel. Even through the procedural Season 1 and the insane season 4. But there are seasons here that surpass Buffy (Seasons 5 and 3)
RIP Glenn Quinn. Such a pity he couldn’t overcome his demons.
Technically only half-demons. 😉
(Sorry, couldn't help myself...besides I fully expect that would've been Doyle's response 100% lol 😁)

“One of us has been drinking and I’m sad to say it’s not me” - Dolye
I liked him so much!!! I was really sad when I knew what happened to him. RIP indeed.

Loved Doyle. It broke me when he died.
In defense of The Ring, it was the first time Wesley was shown as someone who can solve problems.

Has anyone else noticed David Boreanaz visibly cracking up with laughter during the attempted exorcism in I’ve Got You Under My Skin?

I thought the flashbacks in Five by Five were well placed, too. It clues viewers into why Angel wanted to save her.
I never knew Jeremy renner was on angel. Wow
Re: the repeated use of the same letters for W&H lawyers - its deliberate LM is Lucifer Moringstar - showing how they make deals with the devil or thar they're fallen angels.
Doyle was my favorite character in season 1

Wow! The rain was so heavy, it didn’t look real.
For Doyle we pine.
I think Angel also destroys the Gem of Amarra because he just knows that while he has it all the other vampires will be angling to get it off him including very dangerous ones like Marcus and Spike.
I forgot Wesley somehow survived the explosion in the season 1 finale 😅
I’ve got you under my skin is one of my fave episodes of the series entire, “what soul?” When I say I was shooketh 😮

@@SmallFaerie yep. Buffy was right to feel how she did. Faith was terrible.

Because if he's human he can finally be "truly happy" without the curse affecting him.

Doyle, Lorne and Faith were wonderful characters for this show, then Spike
Glad Elizabet Rohm left much preferred her on Law and Order
Atone for Doyle
cordelia was always cofident. she thinks shes the best all the time!
torture is awful and you can be subtle about it.
Is this show good? I like buffy but angel sucked in buffy

I feel like I’m the only person that genuinely enjoyed and looked forward to both Kate’s on-screen character and actress.
