For all those interested! I've spoken with the band and I have the tune names! John Morrison of Assynt House - Peter R. MacLeod, Arr. A. Gandy Keep Crasher - Jarlath Henderson arr. Alex Gandy Clueless - Gordon Duncan Arr. Alex Gandy Sandy Cameron - Arr. 78th Highlanders Halifax Citadel
Could you send the sheet music to these tunes? I've been looking for Clueless for a long time to incorporate into my medley. My email: izekieltan29@gmail.com
They played today at the Atlantic Championships at Antigonish Highland Games. They are a great band...perhaps less stuctured than say Simon Fraser Uni (twice World Champions) but more kick ass, get down, Maritime groove. Great band.
Heh my uncle David Dickens served in the band an the regiment, family celebrations were ALWAYS a blast. Thanks for the memories seaforth ill carry them with me always.
Damn!!!! and I thought that Bag pipes music was formal.... but the beat of these guys invites me to get drunk , dance and shout until I have no lungs!!! :D.......
I do not think so. If it's an "arrangement" it's one that sounds like a completely different tune entirely. The first couple of bars are somewhat reminiscent, but it's really a different piece. At 2:27 you can hear "The Plagiarists" on this vid: ua-cam.com/video/ncB22H0FEqA/v-deo.html
Hey glad you called that one been thinkin it for several years. (What honey. No i am not looking at chics on the Internet. Just listening to a little bagpipe and drums)😎 Had to edit. Mostly drums!!
@@dvrn86 My post doesn't mention march 🤔 What I'm getting at is it stirs the blood, that's what's important to me anyway as someone not acquainted with marching tunes.
Very close! The pipe band takes their name and tartan and cap badge from the 78th Highlanders (Ross-shire Buff's) who were stationed in Halifax NS in the late 1860s. The 78th combine with the 72nd to make the Seaforths, hence the similarity to the Seaforth cap badge. The Halifax Citadel is a national historic site in downtown Halifax. The Halifax Citadel Society recreates this famous regiment every summer and sponsors the grade 1 pipe band you see in this video.
The tune after "John Morrison" is cool. Someone must have recently written it (Alex?). The last one is a minor key "Sandy Cameron" followed by the normal, major-key version of the same tune.
Kernan Hosea They are from Canada 78th fraser highlanders. In my opinion they are the best pipe band on the planet. Google 78th frasers for more info love from Scotland mum was Irish (Gael!).
Not quite, I made that mistake myself a while back: they are the 78th Highlanders Halifax Citadel, formerly the Halifax Police Pipe Band, under the leadership of a phenomenally talented Pipe-Major, Alex Gandy, son of Bruce Gandy, himself formerly of the 78th Fraser Highlanders of Canada, under P/M Bill Livingston
Brian Mac Leod Thank you for your insight, happy to be corrected. I'll follow these pipers with great enjoyment! So, I'd say they are Scottish Canadian/Canadian Scots.

I love the beer tent videos. Pure joy after the stress of competition. Pipes and drums for the fun of it.
This is simply brilliant , sure makes we Scots love how our brethen in Canada love to play the bagpipes and really enjoy themselves .
Hard not to get addicted to this performance.
I'll never forget this as long as I live...just glad to have been there. Chills is right
What is not to love about the mid-section jamming! It was fun and a beer infused performance! Those are the most fun!
Nothing better than a beer tent performance! Well it's even better after a several beers too!
It blows my mind that this has been on youtube since 2014 and it hasn't got 1000 likes yet!
Late reply but right ! Unbelievable video

calito44 The pipes are often a battle cry or a lament... but just as often a celebration! 💙
Just cannot get enough of this, love it.
oh to have been in that beer tent. I would gladly have put my glass down!!
Brilliant...can't get the second tune out of me head
Indy Piper Second tune (hornpipe?) has been a real earworm for me as well?

the first pipes you can hear at 0:05 (High A) are playing quite a quick tune, would like to know the name
Great flourishing!
beast mode.
only time i've ever seen a Bass Drummer refuse a Beer! (even when playing)
I love the girls spinning the tenor sticks. A little flair.
This is expected in pipe competitions and is judged with the same scrutiny as drum majors, snares, pipes, and bass.
I don't want to be judgemental, but I love all 3 of the tenor girls.
I am a north african Arabe wHY i love this Sound ?
Mohamed Blidi because you have a good 💙?🙏
goosebumps xxl!!
Guid tae see the lassies puttin' in as well ;)
Chills when the tempo went up and when everyone cheered.
Is this a video of what heaven is like?
Holy F#$* I don't know if I want to drink or fight. That is amazing!
Anthony Brayall don’t fight. And if drinking makes you fight, don’t drink. Just sit back and enjoy :)
Awesome love it
I wish I knew the name of the girl on the drums.
Fantastic .
Those 2 Tenor drummers are eye catching. Tell me what it is about them. Great vid for the 235th time.

Andy Renwick Favorit Ferret by Gordon Duncan
I'm a bagpipes music fan, and I want some clarification ...
Can anyone tell me why does that big drum has no sound ?
Luke Stanley - Ryan thanks
mohammedosman88
plug it into a descent sound system and you will most likely hear it
It's because this was recorded with a phone probably that doesn't pick up low frequencies...
Name of the tune(s)? very cool! :)
Welcome to Nova Scotia
Why is there one snare drummer playing with his back to the rest of the Corp? Odd
Awesome#IndianRoyalmusician
Is that Richard Baughman recording himself drumming with his Phone on the chest !? WTF :D
What song were they playing?
Believe me, every Scotsman would walk behind this into battle...
Hardly. It's not a marching tune.
@@dvrn86 how would you know,?
@@bloodhoundgang1642 try marching to it and see. Great show piece but you aren't marching into any battles to this amalgamation of pieces.

This is victory music after the enemy is routed
In between 1:00 & 1:40 the bass drummer shouts at a piper presumably he is doing a bad mistake lol
Calum Ramsay it's a call for another beer
what's the title of this tune??? Anyone??
👍🇨🇴
Whats the title of this tune please?
+Frankie Max, John Morrison of Assynt house is the first tune
That cap badge looks like the old British Seaforth Highlanders (now no longer exist)

Its good to see Canada preserving its history , I'm a Brit and our history is your history.
