I can confirm with Unstable Power III (60% Peril) & Uncanny Strike IV with 6 Warp Charges & Warp Unleashed on a Deimos with 20% Carapace 76% Damage, 80% Finesse & 80% First Target will give you that 2 shot breakpoint on the Crusher (non-crits). From what I can tell, I think it MIGHT be possible to 1 shot the Crusher on a perfect Deimos with Unstable Power IV (80% Peril) & Uncanny Strike IV if you manage to land the crit. For reference I'm dealing 2035 non-crit damage and 2305 crit damage (Crusher HP is 2550). I'm missing 4% Deimos Damage, 5% Carapace Damage and Unstable Power IV. This might be valuable to you Ryken or someone else if you're good with numbers.
Been using this sword w/ fire staff and it works wonders. Purge staff clears horde, stabby boy takes out anything tough enough to make it close. I think Deflector is necessary for any sword paired with Purge staff
You're my new favorite content creator. Your videos are a treasure trove of great information. After 700 hrs you've got me once again interested in this mismanaged game.
I played the game a ton back when it first dropped for around 2 months and I just now came back, I just really enjoy the gameplay itself enough to come back every now and then 😂
This is by far my favorite Force Sword. It has noticeably better mobility than the other two, almost on par with axes. It absolutely shreds any single targets even without the Uncanny Strike. And it is surprisingly decent against the hordes, if you focus on headshots. I use it with Deflector and Unstable Power and it's a great combo for me, because oftentimes when I switch to sword for fights, I am at a very high peril already. Combined with the Warp Unleashed, it is almost as effective on hordes and groups of enemies as Illisi, though for a very limited time while you are at high peril.
Good informational as always. Couldn't understand the Illisi Hype . Deimos is just so insanely good and all you need is some nice special/elite hard hitter to pair with hord staffs. This sword is a beast.
I personally love illusi on everything except for the purge and purgatus staffs where I take diemos. Great for picking off harder targets left over from the staffs. Light thrust is extremely fast and hits hard and far.
You can also access the 2nd heavy via push heavy and push attack heavy. That's especially useful when you want to headshot an elite mid trash (push into heavy) or an elite that you want to CC first (push attack into heavy). You can also sprint during your first 2nd heavy but not in chain (when it starts to do the diagonal lights). I like to run Unstable Power 4 with Deflector Deimos on my Trauma build. Trauma already creates a safe spot mid horde so I just pull out Deimos to quickly kill elites/specials that get too close. It brings the warp charge requirement down for that mutant one shot head shot with the 2nd heavy.
I found a real good way to combo the first light attack indefinitely using two mechanics: 1. Holding LMB (primary attack) for a short time so as to start the heavy attack animation, but not too long that it turns into a heavy, the game will interpret it as a light attack instead. 2. If you tap RMB (block) while charging a heavy the attack chain will reset back to the first heavy. Doing both of these at the same time with the deimos turns your next attack into the first light no matter where you are in a combo chain without having to fully interrupt the chain, but It's a tight timing and I've only been able to get it to work on my (75% finesse) Deimos. It's a great combo for when you want to quickly stab a bunch of spread out shooters, or when you want to consistently get that 2nd heavy out no matter where you're at in a chain. Despite there being basically no pause however, you will still lose shred stacks apon reseting the chain.
This has been my go-to sword ever since I picked one up! I was a little disappointed with the Unstable Power blessing on it, until I realized just holding it out with high peril helps my Soulblaze kill things quicker. Even without one-shotting things, it helps shore up a lot of the weaknesses of the Purgatus staff, which is my personal favorite.
Good review, I'd just like to add to what you say around 7:38 : it is in fact possible to go straight into heavy attack 2, you just have to do a push first which doesn't count as an attack but still chains into heavy 2!
Been trying everything with Psyker now:) Deimos in a gun psyker build is to fun. Deimos with Uncanny Strike and Slaughterer + Scryers gaze, precognition, Disrupt Destiny.
Great video, very informative, you saved me as I thought to remove t3 Uncanny Strike from my Deimos. As second blessing on it I have t4 Blazing Spirit - should I replace it? It sounds good but I guess Slaughterer is better. I am new in game. Thank you very much for your hard work.
I'm using it with slaughterer and deflector with great success in damnation. Don't sweat too much for a perfect one. 370+ base and these blessings takes you far imo :)
Only for the crusher bit. I think you'll be able to two-shot a Crusher with this build. This Force sword with stats like these: 75-80% dmg, 75- 80% weakspot, 75-80% Special dmg. PickWarp battery feat for 24% more dmg on 6 Warp charges If you put Perks: +25% dmg vs Carapace armour +10% dmg vs Elites (Curshers are Elites) Blessings: Uncanny strike (+5-20% rending on weakspot hit) Executor (+2-5% power on repeated weakspot hit, stacks up to 5 times) This would be a hinderence when dealing with Mutants or other Maniac type enemies though.
A Deimos with Slaughterer, Uncanny, +25% maniac and +25% carapace can often two-shot crushers using 2nd heavy attack twice. It also one-shots mutants with a light attack 1 headshot
Amazing content again! Now, I know the blazing spirit blessing is not very good, but since you have had the time to test and review all the force swords so far, I'm really curious; if I want to put T4 blazing spirit on a force sword (mostly for theme/fun play), out of the three which would you recommend, and what other blessing works best with it? Maybe bloodthirsty or ripost? Based on this review, the deimos seems like the best choice (though not the best for the sword as you said), or if purely revolving around the blazing spirit blessing another sword choice? Maybe the Illisi for it's quicker warp strike animation - to activate bloodthirsty which then activates blazing spirit?
For fun, I would go with the Illisi - pair Blazing Spirit IV with Shred and Wildfire and if you have a keen eye you will observe an interesting interaction between ;) Also with Illisi I can cosplay as the Witch King of Angmar with its Burning Blade (google it if you're not sure what I'm talking about!)
to go directly into heavy 2 on the deimos: (power up) push attack into heavy, see its 2. And NOONE powers up this force sword, better to just uncharge heavies.
You can 1/2 shot crushers with the charge, and I'd use it against dogs or muties so they can't move or shift during the attack. More questionable against the bulwark but it can stagger them easier.
oo! I learned something new today! Thank you for sharing - didn't occur to me this could work on the Deimos! (on the Obscurus it doesn't work the same). The key use of being able to go straight into heavy 2 was to make use of the guaranteed crit from Bloodthirsty - your solutions helps to get there!
Please don't fall into the 'keep watching to find out' habit. Your video's are already very entertaining and informative. Any time I head someone say "keep watching etc" my first instinct is to leave.
I do wish the force block didn't blind you so much. Crit chance on hit, Shred and soulblaze when you have a soulblaze build is much stronger. That said, I hope they don't nerf rending by changing the armor type to "none" when you are at 100% rending. Rending w crit chance and Shred I find is more consistent on one or two tapping bulwarks.
those damage ticks during the warp charged sword latch counting as your melee damage and applying on-hit effects is actually a huge eye-opener for me. is it the same with any other weapon that has the sort of latch DOT like chain weapons?
From my limited testing I'm not sure if its the same or not. That being said, Chain weapons have very little that could take advantage of it - only one that might work is Wrath - which increases your cleave on hit. So even then, it doesn't seem to be as useful as the Force Swords simply because of Blessing options. Though if you do learn something do share!
I'm still relatively new to Psyker so maybe I'm missing something, but why would you need a sword built specifically to kill crushers when you can also brainburst them in barely more time than that without the need to sacrifice a blessing slot?
Hey Ryken, are you aware Unstable Power stacks 4 times? Imo it's easily the best damage blessing after Slaughterer as unlike Riposte and Shred you can consistently keep it up and even OPEN combat with extra power allowing you to hit higher breakpoints without any slaughterer stacks.
Yes I do! I personally feel Unstable Power to be useful in its own way - specifically if you have a Force Sword with very low Warp Resist. Low Warp Resist Force Swords can cost up to 31% Peril to cast, and that can give you an instant spike in Peril to more consistently make use of the Power Bonus of Unstable Power. That being said, I think Unstable Power is probably best paired with Warp Unleashed (these 2 sync together perfectly) while your sword is blessed for more Utility (Deflector and Uncanny for example). This combination gives you the best of both defensive strength without lacking a damage buff! Of course, this is geared towards a strong melee playstyle and pairs nicely with Gunpsykers rather than staves!
Absolutely LOVE the videos. I’m new to Warhammer and these types of games in general. Do you have a guide for Psyker levelling? Assuming I just take the sword at level 2 until I get the staff? Would be great help for us noobs!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I do have a Psyker guide but its a little out of date with all the recent changes that have happened to the class as of late.. I'll give you some basic pointers here instead! Early game leveling for Psyker will be a little grueling since the Psyker really comes online once they get their final column feats. In addition, the early level staves you get will be of low base rating (low stats) and this can make the staves (especially the Trauma Staff) feel very bad to use. But don't let this stop you! If you don't like how a staff feels in the early levels, just put it down and wait till you get a higher level one and try it again! The staves become much better to use once you get higher base ratings as you level up! In the beginning, you'd probably be better off using guns and playing as GunPsyker - I have a recent video of that you can use as a reference - hope that will help you. GunPsykers are perfectly viable in this game - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. A Psyker's kit allows them to get so many free damage buffs that apply to everything they use. For instance, Warp Unleashed (2nd Column feat), gives you a base 10% damage to everything just for having it selected, combine this with your Warp Charges giving you a stacking damage buff and you can literally out damage even Veterans with the same gun without doing much else. Once you get higher base rating weapons, staves start to feel more usable (don't let this stop you from trying them out!). In terms of ease of use, the Purgatus (flamethrower, horde clear) and the Surge (Lightning, CC) are the most forgiving of the 4. The Voidstrike is similar to using a rocket launcher and is a projectile weapon that can mow down hordes from afar. The Trauma Staff probably has the highest skill potential of all of them but requires a good eye for judging distance and decent game sense to make the most of it. It's a jack of all trades weapon that is usable everywhere and on every difficulty (I use this when I want to play "seriously" and I also main it). Melee weapons wise, the Illisi (check out the review for that!) is an all-rounder that can be used if want a very forgiving weapon. The Deimos has a much higher potential but is less forgiving because of its narrower damage arc (this means you need a good grasp of positioning and dodging to counter its weakness and make the most of it). Otherwise, pick a melee you enjoy using and try to get a feel for it, see if you enjoy using it! Any weapon can be made usable in a Psyker's hands. Also, since you are new Psyker - I highly recommend you check out the Psykinetic's Wrath video as well as the Malice Trap and Annoying Habits video too! These were designed to help inform new players about little things they should know about the game! As for feats, it will generally depend on what you are trying to accomplish with your build, so its hard for me to give you a straight build here. That being said, the build in the GunPsyker video is a universal Brain Burst build that will always be useful no matter what, so you could take that as a placeholder until you feel familiar enough with build crafting on your own! Hope this wall of text helps you my (new) sibling!
@@rykenxiv I can’t thank you enough for all of the information! I think I’ll just get to 15 and learn the game. Are there any items I should be buying along the way? Should I buy grey force swords from the shop and keep them for later? I think I watched a video that said to do this and upgrade them to green later on to fish for weapon perks to put on my main weapon? I hope that makes sense?! Also, should I just save my resources for upgrading weapons until later in the game?? Or should I be upgrading as I level up? Thanks again for all of the info! I’m LOVING the game and your content.
@@Temhota_RS Buy any weapon from Brunt's armoury to try out and see if you like using them! If you do like them, at most upgrade to blue to try and get a useful blessing on it. Save up resources for properly upgrading later on - the higher up you go, the better stats your weapons will be along with the potential it can reach. Upgrading should only be done if you want to try to maximize the potential of the weapon or to farm for Tier 4 Blessings (i.e. Bloodthirsty, Power Cycler, etc...) But this can be very expensive to do and will take a toll of your resources (especially plasteel). In the meantime, I think it would be best to just fish for weapons to extract its blessings at Hadron (Under "Earn Blessing"). Get weapons from end of mission rewards or buying from the armoury. The grind for this game is little too punishing and I hope they further improve it in the coming patches. That being said, one of the best things you can do i stick on +Ordo Docket perks on your curios just so you can make the most out of the rewards you're getting from your missions. (+10% dockets on 3 curious gives you a pretty substantial boost to your dockets). You'll need lots of dockets for re-rolling contracts with Melk and purchasing weapons from the armoury (especially high stat rolls)! Don't worry too much about trying to grind for "God-rolls". It's a goal to reach but not one that needs to be done in any hurry. In fact, for weapons, a decent blue is often good enough to make a difference to your gameplay - just try to aim for blessings I've listed as "Anchor Blessings" - these blessings are generally very helpful even on their own. A strong blue weapon will likely yield a decently powerful orange when full upgraded and enhanced. Hope this helps!
@@rykenxiv again, thank you so much for the information. Where would I find the ‘Anchor Blessings’? So I buy items from the shop and upgrade them to blue. What sort of blessings should I go for? If I get a good blessing on a gun or something I don’t need, do I extract it?
@@Temhota_RS Anchor Blessings are blessings that have the most flexibility when it comes to building your weapon for different purposes. You can find them at the build recommendation section of my review videos (at least for the weapons I've reviewed). And yes, if you got a weapon that you don't want, you can always extract it so have start building up a selection of blessings you can use to tune and change out how your weapon functions.
@@rykenxiv Thank men, hope you ll find out ^^, i crafted a trauma with rending shockwave 4 and it deal not much damage on armored mob, then i crafted a deimos with uncanny strike 4 and deflector ( i love the shield), it deal less damage to crusher than the same sword with executor 4
This is awesome but if you run unstable 4 with slaughterer 4 with elite damage I can 1 shot a crusher with a heavy powered attack to the head. If you want I can send you my Deimos build
Conpared to all other melee weapons Psyker has, the Blaze Sword is literally a no-brain choice to how much versatility it gives with only a melee weapon. Unlimited dodges, ranged shield (if picked blessing), biggest burst damages, decent horde clearer (Heavy 1 into Light 2>3>4>H1 gives a good cleave possiblity)... What are the reasons to take any other melees then?
Most psyker staves already kill hordes, doesn't seem worth it to take another horde killing option over the huge damage potential of the deimos. If I want to turn my brain off I also sometimes just spam deimos light attacks to kill hordes in damnation just fine.
With the special having each tick of damage act as it's own instance of damage, I wonder if that will be able to proc Brain Burst for that "proc on any hit" feat. Otherwise it's not crazy to think you'd have a slaughter stack or two mid mission before hitting a crusher
...I know....Shhh, the fun police are listening, considering what they are already doing and have done? Best quote to date "...because the AI director is a b'st'rd...." :)
Gotta say, the music is quite distracting. I think it's a trend people keep following, but it's never useful. Especially if you choose very generic royalty free music.
ROAD TO 1k SUBS LETS GO!!!
Seen a few of your videos, subbed today! Keep the great content coming

What if you don't have Slaughterer?
I can confirm with Unstable Power III (60% Peril) & Uncanny Strike IV with 6 Warp Charges & Warp Unleashed on a Deimos with 20% Carapace 76% Damage, 80% Finesse & 80% First Target will give you that 2 shot breakpoint on the Crusher (non-crits). Darktide is a great core game loop that is ruined by literally everything else about the game.
Thank you!

You forgot one combo! You can also push attack and it chains directly into Heavy 2. Great video!
Normal push does it too, as long as you don't sprint. For some reason if you sprint it resets the heavy into the first heavy of the chain.

Finally built a Deimos Doombringer. This thing is nuts! Thanks for the video.
Your video just saved me from replacing a tier 4 uncanny on my deimos. You sir, just earned another sub.

Thank you for explaining the arbitrary language of the damage effects in your videos! (example: Bleed, crit, soul blaze, rending, cleave, etc.)
I thought I "tested" this weapon. Your testing is at a whole other level. I love this sword even more now.
Madly in love with this force Sword variant, but I'm terrible at the whole "build" stuff, so this was bloody helpful, cheers~
Beautiful detail! Super interesting
Oh, a min-max math crafter Darktide UA-camr. Just the hero we deserve!
Been trying everything with Psyker now:) Deimos in a gun psyker build is to fun. Deimos with Uncanny Strike and Slaughterer + Scryers gaze, precognition, Disrupt Destiny.
Fun detail on the Deimos: if you hold down LMB after a push attack, you’ll do a thrust. Which can be a warp strike

Cool discoveries!

Awesome review and vid. Thanks
Great video. Really informative and well structured. Thank you! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great vid, cheers!
Your videos are awesome man! Amazing work as always!
Thanks a ton!
I overcome the weakness of the vs. Horde of this blade with my pergatus staff. It works really really well.
I am also constantly broke in darktide due to always trying to make a perfect weapon lol.
I run unstable power + slaughterer, on a high peril build. The damage is ludicrous.
PickWarp battery feat for 24% more dmg on 6 Warp charges
If you put Perks:
+25% dmg vs Carapace armour
+10% dmg vs Elites (Curshers are Elites)
Blessings:
Uncanny strike (+5-20% rending on weakspot hit)
Executor (+2-5% power on repeated weakspot hit, stacks up to 5 times)
This would be a hinderence when dealing with Mutants or other Maniac type enemies though.
A Deimos with Slaughterer, Uncanny, +25% maniac and +25% carapace can often two-shot crushers using 2nd heavy attack twice. It also one-shots mutants with a light attack 1 headshot
Amazing content again!
@@Temhota_RS
Buy any weapon from Brunt's armoury to try out and see if you like using them!
You're a mad scientist
hi @rykenxiv isn t the rending effect downed since last maj ? i don t feel much power with rending shockwave and uncanny strike
Interesting... I'll have a look and see!
@@rykenxiv Thank men, hope you ll find out ^^, i crafted a trauma with rending shockwave 4 and it deal not much damage on armored mob, then i crafted a deimos with uncanny strike 4 and deflector ( i love the shield), it deal less damage to crusher than the same sword with executor 4
sweeet that is the same combo i use
Nerf incoming =[ This is definitely my favorite force sword
how about G+M1
nice
0:44 i c what u did there.
hehe
Aged like milk.
With the special having each tick of damage act as it's own instance of damage, I wonder if that will be able to proc Brain Burst for that "proc on any hit" feat.
Otherwise it's not crazy to think you'd have a slaughter stack or two mid mission before hitting a crusher
Posty posty! 1st!
Just wish it didn’t look like that
...I know....Shhh, the fun police are listening, considering what they are already doing and have done? Best quote to date "...because the AI director is a b'st'rd...." :)
hi please delete this before fatshark watches the video and decides to nerf the deimos TT
Gotta say, the music is quite distracting. I think it's a trend people keep following, but it's never useful. Especially if you choose very generic royalty free music.
