Such a long process for those train stations, good tho means it's going to be made right. Track work is a bit slow kinda strange but all well. A sky sculpture hmm cool & a bucket ton of progress as well i see. Good job JayDog as per norm enjoy these vids, neat.
@quarkcypher Yes, you're right. We study every day. We've already got half a meter of snow. And the frost at night is -30. And my dream is to see this amazing country of Australia.
And the walk to the metro station, even though it's undercover. Personally I think it was an oversight to build the station so far from the terminal, it could have easily been either, built closer to the terminal, or integrated into the terminal itself. (Please keep in mind I'm not a complete expert on the WSI and WSI metro projects)
@@holdencraptiva More terminals are going to be built as the airport expands, hence the placement of the metro station. The airport won't be totally completed until the 2060s. They expect over 80 million passengers to use WSI by 2065.
@@holdencraptiva When the second Terminal is completed the train will be directly in the center of the two terminals . When both terminals are complete I wonder if one will be International and the other Domestic ? Only confusion will follow if not the case.
Can finally say I'll be flying out of WSI next year. Flights usually go on sale around 325 days in advance so I'm expecting some news on that front soon. My guess it they will have a big mystery flight sale for the first day with some proceeds to charity. Just my opinion as they will need something to generate some excitement around the new airport. Also every new airport usually looks for a few hundred volunteers to walk around prior to opening to see if there are any issues re people finding their way around. In the new terminal in Dubai they used staff & contractors but I'm up for spending a few hours there.
There is, just not close to the terminal. Seems odd that they chose not to do what most major airports do and have a two level loop for departures/drop off and arrivals/pick up, and its not even like WSI is supposed to be a smaller airport, its supposed to be a major one so it's a really weird choice not to build it properly from the get-go.
@@holdencraptiva I guess limited billions played a major roll in the final design. I guess in the days Paul Keating announced it ,had it been built then , a lot more could have been done but due to inflation over those years the design I guess kept shrinking .
i think they need to finish all of the initial platform structures at all the stations before the tracks go in. tracks and pantograph shouldnt take too long and we have until arguably the end of the year for testing to start depending on what quarter they want toe airport and metro to open

Great for Western Sydney. Probably all of Sydney if you want to land from over seas during Mascot night closure hours.
So exciting, could almost fly tomorrow!
Getting close now
Big greetings from Bashkiria! Just gorgeous views. The work front has progressed a lot.
Gday
I have never heard of Bashkiria. I checked online and found it is a Russian republic. We live and learn. Greetings from Australia.

Nice video
Thanks
cool tunes.

Annette,Cool tunes together with great video and graphic work all makes this an excellent video to watch.
Outdoor seating in the driest, hottest in summer and coldest in winter part of the Sydney basin will be very popular.
I see some that are finished and they have a roof and back wall

Starting an international flight all sweaty and stinky having walked in the searing heat from metro to the terminal is not ideal.

It's all happening!
Sure is rando
@@BigJayDogAdventures I'm impressed by the new close-up angles you captured this time. Nice.
It took a long time coming but its impressive, will be the making of Western Sydney🎉
Great comment I agree
I hope they have lots of seats and rest rooms.
They will
No sign of the on site Fire Station BJD ?
I did not get footage but I’m 90% it’s adjacent to the runway on last visit I saw I sign for ARFFS at the gate for this area

Good call
Very interesting, thanks
I hope you are right. I will certainly be there if so. I live in Lithgow and will definitely be using the new airport.
So there is no passenger drop off at the terminal?

Why don’t you show the cargo precinct
I have a seperate video on it a while back but will re visit
They should be laying the tracks now IMO.
Yes the viaduct is ready
Nah, not even close. Still a lot more work before the viaduct is ready for track.

@@JayJayGamerOfficial If I recall, they want to open the metro at the same time the Airport opens.
