tortorella'a fights with ranger beat writer larry brooks were legendary
I followed the Rangers obsessively when Tortorella was coach. I found him oddly compelling. I would even watch his press conferences. He was really interesting. But I took issue with some of his decisions, and I think he may have let emotion interfere with his objectivity. And I thought replacing him with AV was an upgrade and the right move. But he was exciting.
Cally is the man. I could have seen him in a flyers jersey.
Loved the Tortorella pressers, when he basically didn’t say anything.
(Any question about the opponent). “I’m not gonna talk about the other team.”
(Any question about his team). “I’m not gonna talk about that here. That stays in the locker room.”
Never got old.
Funny story. Great interview.
Two of my fave players growing up were Callahan and Drury i’m a Canadian Leafs fan but they both played with such heart and weren’t a 1 trick pony out there
Calley sounds a little bitter towards the Rangers for moving him I can’t disagree with him !!!
