Hey I’m a current Mail Processing Clerk. I’ve been working at USPS for over two years. My whole hiring process was sweet. Worked as a PSE for three months and then became a regular. The job is very easy.
Hi there am from Zambia in Africa 🌍 and I would really like to know if it maybe possible for me to get a job at united states postal service if I was to come there...do they also allow immigrants to work or the process is longer?
Yayyyyy 🎉 I applied for PSE on 5/11- got my offer n background check on 6/14 n today 6/16 I got the email to come get fingerprinted on 6/21. Is orientation after fingerprinting?
Orientation on MONDAY!!! Macon Ga
Taylor turner what is the process to get in postal office jobs. I hear there is examination there is writing examination and general knowledge if I pass I could be hired. How difficult is to pass the exam?
Could you please let me know where I can practice 476 test for mail processing clerk?Thank you
Thank you very much I just got the mailing with the pre offer today and your video gonna help me a lot.
Thanks for the reassurance that patience is key. Waiting for my orientation date to be set up.
I got my fingerprints done and submitted my background check a week ago.
I'm patiently waiting for good news. I don't have anything on my background as well, so it's a relief to hear about the 3 weeks of waiting. I really do hope I get the job.
I am in the process, thank you for this helpful information Good luck to us all!
I’m in the process already did my online assessment and pass. Got my email on Friday, gonna call to make an appointment for the fingerprints. Thank you very informative info 👍🏾👍🏾
Where do u call for the fingerprint appointment?
Currently getting re-hired, so this helps me remember what to expect. Thanks!
No Problem! Welcome Back! :)
@@kcjanaye Unfortunately, HR wouldn't let me get re-hired as a CCA, but I am trying to get hired as a PSE clerk. So far, I've been able to fill out paperwork at an actual Post Office and get my fingerprints taken; it looks like this may result in a hire. Crossing my fingers.
@@darthzounds4889 wat happened
Retired from USPS as a City Carrier. USPS always hiring anymore. Used to it was super tough to get on. I was a Vet so that helped me. Now about half of the people they hire Quit. They pay them less, work them long hours and 7 days a Week and treat them like 💩. They can't cut it. I went through most of this myself. Long hours, 6 days a Week 10 hours a day because I was in a Big Office and they always needed coverage. Didn't care if you had something important going on. Seemed like the Lousy Supervisors and PostMaster got their kicks out of ruining your Plans. They treated everyone like 💩. Supervisors and Postmaster made sure it was a Hostile Environment. I stuck it out because I had a family to support and I'm not a Quitter.
Do you know in the assessment part where it asks if you "have ever been disciplined for violating a policy at work" what if you don't know the exact number in your 13 years of service how do you answer? As a Law Enforcement Officer there are so many ticky tack policies that all officers to tend to get written up at one time or another in their careers.
What I 'am positive of is that I've never been written up for lying, assaulting anyone, or breaking any laws and I'm still employed. So on the background side of things such as have I ever been convicted of any crime or received any traffic tickets that will be a NO as well as no drugs in my system when a drug test is required.
@@rickjochum1696 If you are applying then Write NO. You are being honest. Alot of us have had verbal warning on jobs and that doesn't count. I worked in a Factory before the USPS and my thing was missing work due to severe headaches but I always had a Dr's. Note. But still got Warned about Attendence. And NO I never listed that. That was nothing and it was none of their Business. Just don't have anything petty like an unpaid parking ticket you forget to pay or they won't hire you. Some Offices and PMs are that Bad. But most are. And you will be treated like crap in these Offices. But you can always try to transfer to another one.
@@jebbthetrainkid1281 Thanks, I'm 100% confident there will be nothing on my background check because I would not have gotten hired and still be employed. I've not been ever charged with any crimes, can and will always pass a drug test, have zero traffic citations, and have no outstanding parking tickets.
How long does it take to become a permanent employer?
@@christophermoore1776 Depends on Office Size. We had 36 Routes in my Office. I made regular in 1 year. I know guys who work in Offices with 2 or 3 Carriers and may take 10 to 15 years till the Senior Guy Retires. But you can make Regular way faster in a Big Office and then Transfer to a Smaller Office and keep your Regular Status. Big thing is find a Good Postmaster and Supervisors which is almost Impossible. They all want to make it a Hostile Environment. Good Luck.
Thank you so much, I was awaiting another e-mail. I didn't realize I already had the next step in my e-mail, you saved me. Much appreciated.
Great video! Thank you ♥️
Hello Adjusting With Jess!

1/21/22 - Assessment Invite (477)
1/23/22 - Took assessment and passed (477)

1/29/22 - Accepted conditional job offer and completed NACI/SF85 (background stuff)
1/31/22 - Completed fingerprint capture at a post office (not the one I applied for)
2/1/22 - Completed the I-9 and signed "Oath of office document" with my potential future Postmaster.
2/1/22 - Received two more USPS conditional job offers (I will decline these offers)
2/1/22 - Awaiting the results from my background check and one more job I applied for on 1/30/22 (it closes on 2/6/22)

@@kcjanaye I received my conditional offer for the position I really, truly wanted - PTF Sales, Services/Distribution Associate (02/08/22). This offer came in two days after the closing of the job. I declined all the other offers as they came in except the first one. For those of you out there - you can't have two jobs active that I have accepted. By accepting this PTF position, it withdrew my PSE position. I'm in a holding pattern now...
Did you not have an interview??
@@PrincessPoohs They are not doing formal interviews for this position. I met the Postmaster to fill out the I-9 form and sign the Post Office Oath.

Hi there love you voice, I almost got hired as a PSE but got so scared-of window test and waiting for two years without a set schedule. I am currently working for a bank and making 21$ so not sure if I should switch it thank you for your advice
Hello..
Really happy for you 💐💐
I am so confused with the process..
I currently have two locations that show offer phase
Both different cities. Originally I had applied for a location that’s a bit far from me I accepted the offer but then I seen another one that’s way closer to me and I also accepted that offer. I’ve been emailing the supervisor to cancel my application for the first location and she had informed me that she sent an email to cancel my application. So now it’s been 3 weeks and it still shows under “offer phase” I received and email with my employee ID for website SSP. But now I’m worried if this email pertains to the first job offer that I had accepted or if it’s for the location that I truly want. I’ve been emailing the supervisor for my status but she never reply 🙁
Has any of you gotten in a situation like this?
Thank You!!🤍
They hire Temps only to deliver the mail so you are not a Regular Employee and can be fired at any time.... You have to be very flexible and be able to work any day even on the weekends without advance notice for many years until you can be a Regular Employee. The turnover is very large because of all these disadvantages of being a Regular Employee. The pay is only good if you do OT but they will send you home once you reach 40 hrs in most cases so they don't have to pay for OT. The new employees should under all of this before leaving their old jobs . Another problem is all this time you are spending working as a Temp doesn't count towards qualifying time towards retirement.
Sounds contradictory. If you have to show up on your off day then naturally, you will be paid OT.
For all those prior Vets who have been hired, did you start at the entrance pay? Did you do the "buy back your service". So many questions.
Wow, Here in Puerto Rico the process seems backwards. I have accept several offer letters. And HR never sends the appointment for the finger print. Is no phone number to call in the job descriptions. And when you find the post office number no one answers the phone.
I have done fingerprints, background and dmv checks for the multiple positions I have applied for. I just got 2 other offers for RCA. I’m not sure what the next step is and the only thing I haven’t done is my medical portion. I’m locked in for a career position for mail handler. Do they interview for that position. Also if I had my prints ran already through the usps for one position in another state would I have to do it again for a new position I’m applying for another state?
I'm a TTO ( tractor trailer operator) in the Bay Area and was hired 2.5 years ago and when I got the job it was as a PTF ( part-time flexible) . They worked me for 6 and a couple of times 7 day's in a week 10 hours a day and I almost quit not only because I didn't have a life outside of work but the starting pay was bullshit $22.79 per hour. I have over 24 year's of tractor trailer driving experience and it wasn't paying the bills at that hourly rate and because it takes about 10 year's to arrive at top pay which is like $35 per hour. Fast forward to today 2022 they couldn't hire TTO/MVO driver's because of what I mentioned above but they have probably learned their lesson and have made drastic changes in the hopes to keep driver's with experience such as myself and for the one's that they would like to hire. The starting pay as of right now is $28 -$29 an hour and driver's are getting converted to FTR ( full-time regular) in a matter of weeks or month's when before it took year's to become from going part-time status to full-time. Once you are a full-time employee they don't force you to work 6 or 7 day's anymore you have a choice and say in the matter. The medical benefits are great but a bit expensive, also we have a thrift plan ( 401k) which they match and a pension too. I'm now making a little over $30 per hour in less than 3 year's when before it would have taken something like 5-6 years to get there. Now I'm a bit more content. The Postal Service is quite a weird place to work, I was told that you don't have to join the union ( APWU) it's really up to you but if you don't join you won't get some of the benefits you get when you're a member of a union, so I tell new people to join it's a little added protection. The USPS is certainly not for everyone but it does get easier once you get converted into full-time regular employee.
Thank You For This!
If you work over 40 hours per week as a TTO, and now the starting pay is at 31.30/hr as a career full-time non-exempt employee, does USPS pay OT? And if so, is it encouraged, or frowned upon if you consistently work 15+ hours of OT?
...the consensus I'm gathering from new USPS applicants is "it seems like a good paying, stable job to have." The reality I'm finding out is management are bullies, and people either: 1.) stay for the money and live miserably. 2.) Wisely move on and keep their happiness
Hi I got my offer letter I have accepted doing my NACi on the same day which was April 14 2023 just waiting to clear so I can do my orientation the process is going well I am so excited I will be a MVO driver out of Chicago

Thank you very much.

Hi TDevian, Congrats!! Get To The 💰
I guess the issue is you constantly have to check on the portal for those places for the desired offices you would like to work.
I was with usps and was career from July 2018 till Dec 2021. I had to relocate and because I was a Rural Carrier I couldn't transfer. It took them until the first week of April to get me off the books. So I applied for a couple jobs I got conditional job offers for both. I accepted a CCA position and did my fingerprints Friday. I asked what to expect the PO who did them said I should go to orientation around May 14th. Seems pretty quick but I'm hoping that's the case
Any luck on orientation yet ? I just did fingerprints today. Wondering what now ? I am in Raleigh, NC
HI KC - I'm really hoping you check these messages. I've tried the application site over and over and have YET to have anything come up just when I'm at "Job Search", where you indicate a state and then supposedly select a "Functional Area". FIRST OF ALL - when searching "Functional Area", only a handful of positions are found, and I'm searching from a state with a large population (California - !!) is that just how it is or am I missing something? IS THERE some way for me to just send in an application and let the USPS choose if they can place me anywhere?
I conducted my fingerprint scan, but my position was rescind stating that I failed to complete my finger prints. I just went in today and conducted a fingerprint scan again for a different position, is there a conformation stating that I have completed a fingerprint scan or there is something that I need to do afterwards?
You got video coming for the orientation part? Im just waiting on my dates for orientation for CCA!!

Only thing if you don’t see the opening at your local post office. Most PSE positions are at the big plant.
USPS owns there power. Careers status is an accomplishment. Retirement is the goal. Veteran athletes Pros
I wanted to ask at what point do they do the drug screening?
Why don’t I receive naci sf85 email for my background check ? I already accepted the job offer did my fingerprints and onboarding session with postmaster ???
Did you receive the email? What happened? I’m having the exact same problem

I applied this morning and all it asked for was my personal info and work experience. Was that all they needed for now? I was hoping that I didn't mess it up.
I've been with the USPS since last year and my start to finish was fairly quick. Maybe because they needed people but I know for a fact my military status had something to do with it as well. If you are a Veteran applying you get moved to the front of the line and this was coming from HR. My plant LOVES Vets and they even told us in orientation. They said the Vets who apply Trump everybody else and they basically get what they want. They even asked me what tour do I prefer to be on.
Thank You! Mr Chazz, & I Appreciate Your Service!
I’m a vet and I’m still waiting, guess it depends on hr
@@eboniclay5268 Each plant is different. For some reason my plant loves vets. When you walk into the front entrance there are 4 HUGE military flags representing each branch hanging on the wall. There’s also a big ass screen TV with a loop playing on it about military vets and thanking us for our service etc…there’s also various signs throughout the plant with military vet messages on them. MDO’s supervisors etc…don’t say anything to me or the other vets.. We are all quiet and just do our job without bitching or complaining. We do get treated differently than everyone else and some people working there don’t like it one bit. It’s like they are jealous or something idk.
@@GenX_US_Marine yea they shouldn’t like it because usps is really stressful job, all employees should be appreciated for their labor
@@GenX_US_Marine To my knowledge, a Vet has higher priority than a non-vet. However as far as scoring goes on the test, what ever score a vet gets, add 5 to it. So if a Vet scored 82, it's 87 now. They are prioritized over any other 87's, however score still matters. A vet that scores a 76 is not prioritized over a non-vet that scored a 90.
Your plant is rather different in the fact that nobody says anything to vets, but I'd imagine most plants do value veterans to a certain extent. Such as every Friday everyone wear red to show support or the badges at certain post boards.
From what I was told, the USPS started out or became something where Veterans could go back into society with a job available. Reason why the extra points on score or the reason why you can buy the time spent in the military back towards I believe retirement.

Hi Jennyboom,
I Would Not Call And Check Just Yet. If You Completed The Background Check Forms On The 25th Of January, I Would Say It Takes At Least 3 Days For The USPS To Send It To The 3rd Party Company, Then it May Take The 3rd Party Company Up To 7-15 Business Days To Complete It If You Have No Background. I have Ppl6 for the post office in mid of January. Took the test past with at 71 and a 76. I am still waiting for the background check and finger print. Now it march 3 and still did not hear nothing. I apply for many jobs and they pre hire list and still nothing. Thank u for helping me
Hi Sharrise! They Will Go In Order By Test Score Ranking. 100 Is First, Then 90s 80s And So Forth. I Hope This Helps!
@@kcjanaye I scored 97 on my 474 and 100 on my 477. I applied for a CCA and PSE at about the same time and I just got offered a CCA but have not heard for PSE position though. I'd rather want to get an offer on PSE but I'm not sure how do they arrange the hiring positions.
Hello, I passed the assessment but haven’t gotten a job offer email, I just got an email to consent to give my driving record and to make a background check, am I in the correct path?
They have updated the assessment 477 to 474 any advice you can give for this one?
Hello Ms. Debbie, For The PSE Position It Should Still Be 477. Reply Back If Not
Pls tell what the Assessment consist of and how long is it?
Hi, enjoyed your video and comment section. I recently applied, finished the 477 assessment test and scored 100, didn’t receive a conditional offer, but did get the email to fill out the background/motor vehicle. Has anyone else gone through these steps but didn’t receive a conditional offer before doing the background check? Seems like I’m the only one.
You should get one soon if you haven’t already
I actually got an offer but for a different position that I applied for. Never got any information on the first job. June 28, 2022 I was offered the job and I accepted. Received an email for background check. The following day I did my fingerprints. After completing my fingerprints, I called the postmaster and explained I had finished everything. On June 30, 2022 I was called in to fill out paperwork. I was told training would start the next week, I have been watching my email very closely. However due to the 4th being on a Monday I’m not sure how this will effect the hiring/training process.
@@Iheartbags I had got an email saying my hire date is 7/23 (it’s a Saturday) and look out for another email concerning orientation on 7/15. Also I know they do the drug test on orientation day
Was the 477 assessment hard? What type of questions did they ask?
@@shae25fiya it’s very long I believe I had over 200 questions. No and yes, a lot of the questions are just repeated over and over again just in different formats. But other then that it’s very common sense answers.
Anyone know what if someone can't remember all the jobs or dates from previous jobs when doing the application? Some of the companies have gone out of business so reaching out to them is not an option.
What if you don’t receive a email after you applied? Where did you go from there?
Hey KC, I was noticing on your two offers, one is addressed to K and the other is addressed to KC. Did you register two different login IDs for these two positions?
I ask because I have applied for several locations under my one login ID. I just want to make sure I am being considered for any of those locations. I did accept a position with Atlanta, but a couple positions opened after accepting the ATL PSE Sales & Svcs position up in North Georgia, so I applied for those too.
Any insight is appreciated. :)
Hello Ms. Christy, I Only Applied To Each Position With One Login. The Difference In The Two Offer Letters Is The Covering Of My Legal Name. My Full Name Was Spelled Out However For The Sake Of Privacy I Decided To "White It Out". If You Applied For Multiple Positions Under One Login ID, You Will Be Considered For Each Position Applied. Hope This Helps!
@@kcjanaye yes, that definitely helps. Thank you so much.
Another Question: I just got fingerprinted today, October 15, 2021. I completed the NACI background check on October 9 (which was a Sunday, and Monday was Columbus Day, aka Postal Holiday). I accepted the Atlanta position offer of PSE S & S/D position on October 6, 2022.
Do you have any idea of what I may be looking at (as far as time goes) regarding an invite to orientation. I didn’t apply for a driving job. So, I’m thinking the background check might be faster since they don’t have to look at my DMV records.
Thanks again for all your help and the great video.
I’ve been waiting for an offer that they maid to me for 7 months. That was here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I accept the offer and in my profile appears offer phase ext. A few days ago they send an email saying that they cancelled the offer and i has to apply again but here in PR theres no more offers for PSE . Or at least not for now. What can do about it.? Thanks
Hi Emmanuel, Congrats On Your First Offer. Even Though It Was Cancelled Keep Applying. I Would Research Jobs In PR Like CCA Or Clerk Or RCA. Then Once You Get That Accept And Switch To PSE. You Just Need To Get Your Foot In The Door
@@kcjanaye thanks for the information. 🙏👍🏻💪🏻
Thank you
i barley passed my my assessment at a 72% thank god because now i know im still eligible and im guessing i should just wait.
