When I was a teenager, I liked the song "Dance with me". Every time it was played on the radio or at the disco club, I was dancing and feeling so great!
He was a nice guy polite and well mannered. When you walked into his house it was an immaculate place kinda reminded me of leave it to beavers house. His parents still live down the road from me.Catch you later Stiv(Steve). Your bud from the way back! Dave
I only ever met him once, back in 1982 on the Lords’ first tour... but he made that exact same impression on me. Just a really genuinely nice guy, and very, very funny. I really miss his presence in the world. Even all these years later.
God this is fantastic.. I adore these guys and their music and unfortunitely i got to know them only like 20 years back. I never even saw an interview with them, thanks so much for this! It's so hard to get info on them..very hard indeed. I love this..thanks again :-D
We went to the same St. Rose catholic school, I have his 1963 class picture and he sits right inbetween two priests,(Steve Bator back then) They did everything alphabeticaly back then I think, so there he sits as fate would govern. When he graduated high school we hooked up when he found out I played drums we were green horns, we lasted not long I being 6 years younger.
Some comments about Stiv's lip are so unnecessary and mean, it was just a piece of flesh that grew, it wasn't because of a disease or anything, some people are so mean, are your bodies so perfect ??
So many people who make these mean-spirited comments on youtube clips are slimy, jealous, insecure, cowardly little creeps. Pay them no mind. They’re probably still living in their parents’ home and have miserable, failed lives. These people aren’t worthy of smelling Stiv’s farts.
Stiff in one of his many attempts to go with a new trend.......not for nothing he wasn't a happy guy , knowing he was not for real. First pop, then 'punk', then pop punk, after that this "goth" phase , his last attempt to be 'hip'....
So, uh... you must have known him pretty damn personally to make such a statement, I take it? I met him in 1982 and he seemed very happy to me, or at least really enjoying what he was doing. And he wasn’t cashing in on any trends either. The Dead Boys were punk when punk was a brand new thing. In 1976, punk was anything but “trendy”. He did a power pop solo album because, well, he actually loved power pop. The Lords may have had “goth” trappings, but they were a true rock and roll band at heart. None of it was phony or contrived. None of it was an “attempt at being hip”. Stiv was who he was, didn’t give a shit what little creeps like yourself thought, and he definitely didn’t front or pose. He was the real deal. Not sure where you get off saying these things, but you come off as being quite phony yourself. What have you ever done that makes you so high and mighty? You just sound jealous, bitter, and uninformed.
@@Brewzerr Steve's stage name was Stiv and he was one of the kindest guys I ever met offstage. I knew he pretty well circa 1977 to about 1980. He was real, didn't follow trends, he started trends. That guy you responded to wishes he had half the class and intelligence Stiv had.
Brian Jame s is a guitar legend why has he never been recognised : ( great great band !! Rip Stiv !
This man Stiv is speaking the truth when it comes to politics!! He is dead on!!

He knew then about the NWO. Chiling prediction for the future. Wise man. He was also czech/romani .Long live Stiv!
Wow, thats true what Stiv said about the government and politics.
Maybe. I wonder if Stiv would be into politics now, or if he'd wear a mask.
@@thana1491 he would most definitely not wear a mask

Stiv is smacked out of his mind in this. I love how Stiv "fired" the band during his last show with the Lords. ... lol
Thanks!
Great fuckin interview! Two legends right here, kids!! 🖤🏴☠
Turns out they really were in bread lines, imagine that... Funny watching this so many years later...
Why everyone in these comments are bashing them it shouldn't be about his lip or what he wears etc. But about their art

Which year was this filmed?
The guy in the beginning says "last december". I assume he means december 1984.
what year was this interview?
Dec 3, 1984 before their gig at Tavastia, Helsinki, Finland to be precise.
Brian James is hilarious! Reminds me of the guitarist from Spinal Tap, but Brian writes better songs. Barely.
What kind of dumb, irrelevant questions are these? Gotta admire their patience with this useless nonsense.
