They should consider doing a remake of "City of Ember" as a streaming series of episodes, instead of a movie, and then, that way they could have more creative leeway, so as to possibly adapt all four books in the series.
Well, considering this movie grossed less than 1% what the Harry Potter franchise has made so far, a 'City of Ember' theme park attraction would probably have been a flop.
I feel like Tim Robbins (Loris) should have been cast in the role of the mayor, instead of than Bill Murray. Bill Murray (like in so many of his movies) rather dragged down the film by giving the distinct impression he didn't really want to be there. Whereas Tim Robbins completely immersed himself in the world and gave a naturalistic performance.
