Thanks Mark. These are clever mechanisms, but a bit mysterious as to how the motion of your foot translates into 5 different gears moving on two different shafts.
Question: This same transmission, when in neutral and running, the teeth on the trans gears appear to be slightly making contact creating a noise of such. Reaching down and slightly applying pressure downward onto the gear shift foot lever, the noise disappears. Letting go of the gear shift lever, the noise returns. This just started from 1 day to the next. What went wrong or is going on inside the case ? Any advise before spending several hundred dollar bills ? Thanks, Pg
Best explanation I've ever run across. Thanks
You're welcome James.
