- Hello! I worked on this for two and a half months, so I hope you like it!
I tried to think like LEGO and create the Ultimate Orange Box Diorama!

@@thebagleman They had portal sets for lego dimensions. I dont see why they cant have this.
@mercury5003 Portal is a different matter it's easily the most kid friendly Valve property with its darker parts be on par with things in batman.

honestly the only thing I think would be an issue for them is team fortress. Ironically.
@mercury5003 Star Wars is the only franchise in the lineup that can get away with it as it's a lot more uplifting and more Cartooni than half life and is a massive demographic of kids and adults. half life and tf2 are significantly less popular and much more adult with heavier bouts of Gore and Vulgarin than franchises like indiana jones and Star Wars.
My one mega nitpick is that in TF2, BLU pushes the bomb cart in Payload, not RED

@@Amosus2 thats payload race taht has two and also that map clearly isnt hightower since in the map the carts get lifted up top to their destination and also most of it looks nothing like high tower so it cant be it
14:33 certainly works better as a Portal 2 set because Chell had the full jumpsuit on in Portal 1 compared to having the coat top tied around her waist, and the model for Glados was way different.
Yeah. Chell's jumpsuit was orange, and she's barefoot with braces instead of the Portal 2 long fall boots. Then GLaDOS' head is more gray along with having 4 cores on her body.
It's a shame Lego won't allow HL2 or TF2 to be full Lego sets, but if you made a full Portal or Portal 2 diorama, I would definitely vote for it on Lego Ideas.
The fact they've already partnered with VALVe for LEGO Dimensions also heightens the chance of it being selected.

This is absolutely beautiful! Incredible job, and honestly I'm amazed it only took you 2 and a half months to get it to this state! The amount of tiny little detail crammed into every nook and cranny is unreal, it's obvious how much passion you have for these games.

I absolutely love it. It has some mistakes tho. Like in TF2, red team is pushing the cart instead of blue. But we can always say it's payload race game mode, heheh. Amazing work.
Also in TF2 you can't climb ladders
and Engis glove on the wrong arm

I really love how you took the TF2 characters, who are already colorful and cartoonish compared to other FPS games, and amplified those qualities up to 10 to fit in with the lego style. Amazing work!!
Chell and Glados are both the portal 2 design, this was hard to ignore as a big portal 1 fan that wants to see p1 designs in lego. But nevertheless, this was very well designed professional Lego level you did a stellar job.
The set looks amazing! Though one nitpick I have is reusing Gordon’s HL1 suit, which I would suggest retexturing the suit and making the orange arms dark gray, but still looks good nonetheless! I hope to see HL2 sets sometime in the future!

10:05 an easy fix to this set would be to replace the red piece on the bomb with a blue one and turn the cart around, as red is always defending from blues bombs, no matter what that's always the case unless its payload race.

You killed the Portal set. It feels the most cohesive to me. Also, it can't be a "Portal" set, because the GLaDOS design is from Portal 2, not 1 🤓🤓
Chell's uniform is also from Portal 2.

I’m such a big nerd for these games I love how you got all the recognizable details while making them simplified for lego! Also I appreciate TF2’s dry desert and cartoony-ness it’s so beautiful :’)

The production value here is INSANE! As a huge Half-Life and Portal fan this was an absolute treat, but honestly the Team Fortress build might be my favourite. Seeing the figures animate in their little showcase sections was a cute surprise, but seeing a fully animated version of the diorama was WILD
Huge props, this video was amazing. Loved the Half-Life 1 sets too, a whole custom wave is a really cool idea
I would kill to have those half life figs.
One change I would make for Gordon would be to change his arms to grey to match the HEV Mark V.

I'm currently looking over at my Exploriens set with the weird solar panel flaps, and thinking if only there were a triangular pipe piece you could attach three of those to, you'd have an almost perfect D0G head.

Love every single thing about this “set”. Also even though not mentioned I love the fact that the Set number 91007 directly references the PC release date of The Orange Box 9/10/2007. Big little details like that are awesome.

ok, you mislabeled the Monkie Kid hairpiece as Kai's hairpiece but THANK YOU SO MUCH, I would never have had this idea for my own customs. I do have a LEGO Chell from Portal 2 as well as an incredible amount of customs from both TF2 and Half-Life

Pro talks about the Faith Plate, The entire set is more reminiscent to portal 2 then portal 1 due to the Chell figure having the white tank top and the Glados head coming from portal 2.
The base of this build looks almost identical to a bionicle lego ideas project from a few years back. Super cool design for sure

The GLaDOS you made is modelled after the Portal 2 GLaDOS, the Portal 1 GLaDOS's face is just a solid grey with a yellow eye. 🤓
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. The best representation of Valve's greatest hits in Lego form. I only ask if you could make official instructions (excluding the figures), just in case somebody (me) is crazy enough to recreate it IRL?
I cant believe we never got a lego glados, thats like the one thing I wanted when we got the dimensions pack! A Doug Rattman figure itself could also fit with the portal section, maybe with a companion cube on his back

From everybody at the Calamity Crew we can confirm that we think this set is amazing and we will be taking 7 of them sense we grew up with the orange box

If this were ever to be real, we’d get Gordon, Alyx and maybe 1 combine, like half the mercenaries, and portal, would actually be fine
If you ever want to do a Half-Life 2 sets video I would suggest:
-The barn from Water Hazard where you can the G-Man while Gordon drives the hovercraft.
-Black Mesa East, either the room where you meet with Eli or the backyard with Dog and the gravity gun.
-The first zone of ravenholm with the hanging legs or the open zone where you meet Father Gregory.
-The giant bridge where you fight the helicopter, including the car and trains on top.
-Nova Prospekt, when you fight the antlion guardian
-The Uprising, maybe use the overwatch nexus battle, in the frontyard with Gordon going through the Striders and stuff
-The final battle with Wallace Breen on the top of the Citadel
On the whole Faith Plate debacle...
That's also GLaDOS' Portal 2 Design, but. I'm not really complaining (that much, I sorta like her P2 design more anyways.
Also, Teams should be swapped with the TF Build. BLU is typically the attacking team, and RED is the defending team.
Though, again, I'm not complaining much. Red Team attacking actually sorta makes more sense in terms of color theory or whatever.
I have no complaints about the HL2 Section, it absolutely rules. I can see some of that HL:A Inspiration (especially in the orange-y building & its Balcony), but it doesn't really detract from the look of anything since it's all C17. I think the pinkish skyline background works quite well with HL2's look as well. Looking at HL2's skyboxes, I realized there weren't any "pinkish" skies, but it works shockingly well with the general look that HL2 Goes for.
All in all, SUPER cool stuff.
To the portal bit, if a cube (companion or not) is placed on the plate, the points that connect the plate to something, are orange, showing that they are powered. At least thats how I remember.

All you need is: 1 black antenna piece, a minifig hand like black 1x1 clip, a white head, red 1x1 cheese slope, black cilinder, a technic pin, a black lever piece, 3 1x1 black studs with holes in the middle and a some sort of cat woman whip/chain/rope
